When Anna left the Robertson estate it was nearly dinner time and when food is already placed on the table that is the time when Kyle finally showed himself to everyone in the house along with Erik. When both friends entered the dining room the first two faces that they saw is Kyle's little sister and his father. Their faces were full of frowns as if they are so angry that Kyle is home.
"Is that how you welcome me now?" He asked. He wonders what did he do to make his father and sister look at him like that. He looks at his silent mother and asked again, "What did I do to them?"
Truth to be told, Layla is also quite down because of her son. From the time she spends with Anna even though it was cut short, she got this same feeling the way her husband and daughter felt for Anna. For them, Anna is more worthy for the future hostess of the Roberton family. She also would also like to help her daughter pair up her son and Anna but she also knows that it's going to be hard to pair them up. In her perspective, Anna is a dense girl she won't realize it until someone told her so and for her son, he's denser than Anna; he dislikes women getting near him and it's going to be a big headache to pair them up together.
"You did nothing except for the fact that you weren't home much earlier." Layla just casually said as she elegantly cut in half the food in her plate.
"Oh! I can explain that!" Erik happily volunteered to explain why Kyle just got home at this time. "I kinda off force Kyle to a club with me. You know where hot chicks in there." After Erik said his piece he was waiting for praise from Lannie for his successful job on successfully dragging Kyle at the club but instead he got a dagger-like stare from Lannie. His heart sank for some reason; usually, Lannie would say 'Good job dragging my brother to that place!' but now she was not saying anything and only glaring at him. Didn't he do a great job?
Layla notices that her daughter is boiling in a rage because of what Erik just said. Before her daughter could go berserk on Erik and Kyle she gestures the boys to stop talking and join them for dinner; the two complied.

After their delicious silent meal, Lannie stood up and went somewhere. Kyle was confused that his sister is unusually quiet throughout the whole meal. This is not the first that she's like that but whenever she's like that she's not in a good mood.
"Who made her angry?" He asked.
Stan wanted to say 'You and Erik of course.' but he just shrugged as if he doesn't know the real reason why his daughter is like that.
After a short while, Lannie came back with a small plate in her hands and there was a piece of cake in it. She places it in front of her brother and said, "Eat it."
Kyle looks at her. Why on earth is she ordering him to eat the cake? He knew that his sister knows that he's not a big fan of cakes. Why does why she wants him to eat it?
"Just eat it, there's no poison in it geez!."
Seeing that his sister won't stop pestering him until he eats the cake so he just obeyed her and took a bite. The whole family watched him savoring the cake anticipating what comment will he make. "Not bad." He said. Even though there was a lot of times when he was forced to eat cakes by her mother and sister this is the first time that he didn't complain and actually liked how the cake tasted. Both mother and daughter pair were surprised and happy. "Which store did you bought this?" Kyle asked. This is the first cake that he likes and he might want some more in the future.
Finally, a smile crept on Lannie's face and said, "I didn't buy and nobody bought that cake."
"You baked this?" He asked.
"Nope."
"Then who?" Kyle is getting impatient from the incomplete information that he got from his sister. 'Is it so hard for her to answer me directly?'
"It's a thank you cake for you from Anna. Anna Coleman." Lannie said emphasizing Anna's full name. She hopes that her damn brother wouldn't forget the fairy-like Anna.
Hearing the name of the person who made the cake, Kyle was surprised but he didn't show it in his face. Who would've have known that someone like Anna who came from a very wealthy family would know how to bake. Because usually, girls that came from a wealthy family would always lie that they made it by themselves but in truth, they only bought it or have someone else make it. But Kyle didn't doubt Anna he believed right away that Anna baked the cake. And for some unknown reason, he's happy that Anna baked him a cake especially for him.
"A thank you cake? Why would she thank me?"
Lannie was relieved that her brother didn't forget Anna, so she happily said to him. "That time at the event you saved her from those disgusting old men. She was here earlier, by the way, she wants to thank you personally but you were busy at the club." As she said this sends a dagger-like glare at Erik and when Erik noticed that he knew right away why Lannie was angry at him earlier. 'I just ruined her plan, didn't I?' Erik formed his lips into a thin line, now he knows how serious Lannie is about pairing up her brother and Anna.
When Kyle heard that he suddenly got a feeling that he should blame Erik for missing out Anna's presence.
