"Dear sister, you and Aaron Coleman seems to be close than I originally thought," Kyle said in a teasing tone of voice, but Lannie could only look at him in displeasure.
"Brother, what nonsense are you talking about? You know very well who I like." Lannie knows that her brother is only joking around with her, but she does not like it when her brother jokes like that.
"Lannie, why can't you be honest with your feelings with Erik?"
Kyle is worried about his sister; he has no problem with her liking Erik because Erik is a good man even though he is in many relationsh.i.p.s before and still is. But those relationsh.i.p.s are just Erik's way to prevent his parents from marrying him off with some spoiled rich girls that he no idea about.
At the same time, he is also worried that if his sister continues to like Erik, then she will be the only one who gets hurt in the end. Erik has no plan on wanting to be in a serious relationship, and a serious relationship is what his little sister wants.
"Brother, you know very well that even if I were to tell him my feelings for him, it will only end up in vain. Besides I will gain nothing if I tell him, the feeling is not mutual after all." Lannie is afraid that if she were to tell Erik the truth about her feelings for him, the relationship currently they have would be destroyed. After all, she knows that Erik only sees her as a little sister.
"You'll only hurt yourself if you keep this up, Lannie."
"Speak for yourself, you dumb brother of mine," Lannie said with a frown plastered on her face. "You can't even tell Anna your own feelings. So don't go telling me things."
Kyle's lips twitched when he heard that. Just a second ago, they were talking about her feelings towards Erik, so how is it that their topic now is about him. "I'm telling this for your own good! Don't change the subject to me, you little brat!"
"Kyle Robertson! Don't shout like that to your little sister!" An angry old man's voice was suddenly heard behind Lannie and Kyle.
The siblings look behind them; it was their grandfather who just came back from who knows where.
Kyle frowns at his grandfather, "What? Grandfather, I was not shouting at her." He did raise his voice at his sister, but it did not count as a shout. 'Here I thought, you have some problem hearing things, grandfather.'
"Yes, you did!" Lannie said pouting; she stood up abruptly and runs towards her grandfather. Hugging him tightly, and said, "Grandfather, brother is such a bully. Telling me all sorts of mean stuff!" The way she said her words, it seems like she is about to cry.
After hearing that, Elijah glared at his grandson, "Kyle, you are her big brother, you should at least be careful at what you will say to her."
Kyle did not say anything back because even if he did, his grandfather will not listen to him. Between him and his little sister, Elijah will always side with Lannie. After all, Lannie is the only princess of the family. Spoiling her is what his father and grandfather really like to do. As for his mother, she is the only one who does not do that; she only gives what Lannie needs not what Lannie wants.
Lannie and Elijah sat next to each other, while Kyle is sitting in front of them, listening to his grandfather scolding him for being such a bad big brother.
Every word that is coming out of Elijah's mouth is going in and out of Kyle's ears. There is no point in listening to something he did not even do.
He knows that his little sister is doing this on purpose. Lannie is upset that they were talking about the guy she likes, and Kyle is only advising her not to get hurt. 'Females are so troublesome.' He inwardly commented.
He wonders if Anna is like his little sister; will he get a headache dealing with her too? That thought came into his mind, but he immediately brushed it off. He doesn't want to think that Anna is like his little sister. As of right now, he is convinced that Anna is a whole different species of a female. A sweet and caring person; that is what she is.
The scolding finally stopped when Elijah's phone suddenly rang. Excusing himself, Elijah went out of the living room to answer the call.
After Elijah left, the first person to speak is Kyle, "If you continue to tell grandfather such lies again, I promise you that I will tell Erik about your feelings towards him." He said with a smile on his face, but it is clear that he is threatening his little sister.
Lannie is not a bit happy with what her brother just said. "Brother, if you do that, then I will tell Anna about your feelings towards her!" She threatened him back. 'Hmph! You think you're the only one who knows how to threaten someone, then guess again, brother!'
Instead of seeing a frown on her big brother's face, Lannie only saw a smile. A smile that means that her big brother is not threatened by her words.
"Go ahead and tell her. I do not mind it at all." Kyle thinks that it is much easier for him if Lannie tells Anna that he had feelings for her. He would like to tell Anna about it himself, but he is busy getting Marcus Coleman's approval first before expressing himself to Anna.
Initially, he would tell about it to Anna after he got Marcus' approval, but if his sister would do it, then it's much better. And of course, based on Anna's personality, Anna would not believe it right away, so it is not much of a problem for Kyle.
Seeing that her threats are not working, Lannie gritted her teeth in frustration, "I really hate you right now." Lanne said.
Kyle smiled at her, "I love you too, dear sister."
