It is already dinner time in the Robertson residence and the family who is eating felt that something is going on with their one and only princess. She kept on smiling since the moment dinner started.
Though it is not unusual for Lannie to look happy, the rest of the family just felt that there is something going on; they all have different thoughts on this matter.
'Maybe some guy asked her out? Is that why she's smiling like that? No, no. That's impossible... I mean it is possible since my princess is pretty like her mother, but...' Those are the thoughts going on Stan's mind. If Lannie were to know what her father is thinking about, she doesn't know whether she should be upset or laugh at her father.
'She's smiling like that again. She's up to something, I won't let her guard down.' Apparently, as Kyle is observing his sister, he is preparing himself for whatever Lannie's tactic is.
"Lannie, did something happen? You seem to be very happy today." Lannie's mother looks at her; waiting for her to answer her question. It is quite intriguing seeing that kind of smile on Lannie's face.
Lannie glances at her brother then look back at her mother with a bright smile. "Mother, nothing really happens to me. It's just that I got a message from Anna's brother that—"
Before Lannie could even finish her sentence, Lannie's father suddenly cut her off in a frantic tone. "What? The little brat from the Colemans? Is he asking you out? NO! I refuse! I only want Anna to be part of our family, not that little brat or whoever is trying to pursue you!" Stan firmly announced that the only Coleman he would accept to be part of the Robertson family is Anna and that he would never accept any that will try to snatch his only princess.
Lannie is satisfied with that, but her father's conclusion on what she is about to say is upsetting her. "Dad, you are speaking nonsense again. Can you please let me finish on what I am about to say?"
She doesn't understand how her father got to that conclusion. She felt that if she were to want to be in a relationship in the future, her father will chase all of her suitors, and she can't let that happen. Her future depends on it. 'I guess in order for me to be able to date anyone, I have to coax my dad from now on.' Lannie said inwardly.
Stan wanted to say something, but his wife glared at him and that made his shut his mouth. "Continue, Lannie," Layla said.
Lannie nodded, and spoke, "As I said earlier, Aaron messaged me and he told me that Anna will be participating in the new event the principal just came up with."
"Oh? But what does that have to with anything good happened to you?" Kyle asked. His sister just said that something good had happened to her earlier, but she is talking about Aaron's message about Anna participating in a certain event. But what does that have anything to do with her? Is it because she has fallen for him and that she is happy that Aaron messaged her?
Just like his father, Kyle is also having such nonsense thoughts. If Kyle were to voice out his opinion, then Lannie will make sure to make her brother get jealous for a whole month, and for her to do that, she will takes pictures of all the guys Anna interacted with.
"In Aaron's message, it says that Anna's partner in that event will a guy from their class. That guy is very funny and I'm excited with his collaboration with Anna." Lannie lied, the real reason she is excited is when she will see that jealous face her brother is about to make. But also at the same time, Lannie feel bad for Leon who is most likely be the one suffering from her brother's jealousy.
When Kyle heard that, his hand movements stops. Since the beginning of their dinner, Kyle already felt that his sister is targeting, but he did not expect this kind of attack from her. Thinking that is one of his sister pranks on him, Kyle chose not to believe and continue to eat his food.
The rest of the family saw that Kyle is not making any remarks regarding the matter, but Layla and Stan felt a little unease at their son's silence, he might be boiling on the inside. As for Lannie, she felt a little bit disappointed; she expected her brother to ask her about Anna's partner, but her expectation failed her.
'Does he thinks that I'm telling lie to him?' Lannie asked inwardly.
"Lannie, you are in a different class, am I right?" Layla asked, and Lannie nodded, "Then does that mean you are going against Anna? Since every class is competing with each other."
Lannie shook her head, and said, "My class will going to go against Anna's, but I am not participating in it. It's too much hassled and it's tiring to watch those girls who any cares about their appearances." Lannie and Anna share the same opinion about the girls who are participating in the event, but the only difference is that Anna is participating while Lannie is happily watching at the sideline.
"Is that so? Well, it seems to me that you know Anna's partner in this event." Stan spoke. For some reason, Stan felt that this guy who is going to be Anna's partner seems to be very interesting.
"Of course! I even have a picture of them together." If her words earlier did not work, then she would use another method. A method that even her brother can't resist not saying anything.
Lannie took out her phone and show the picture of Anna and Leon together to her parents, and since Kyle is near her, he is the first one who saw the picture. This time Kyle believes that the picture on his sister's phone is real.
Kyle's lips twitched in annoyance; he knows that his sister is doing this on purpose and he should not let it affect him, but his sister's annoying tactics are really working.
"He's handsome. In this picture, they seem to be well matched for each other— ouch! That hurts!" As Stan was speaking what was on his mind, he suddenly felt a sudden kick that came from his wife. He looks at her with a questioning look on his face, then he suddenly realized that he had said something he should not have said.
Stan was about to take back what he had said, but Kyle suddenly stood up and gave his sister a cold stare. Lannie only smiles at her brother; clearly unaffected. "I'm full. Thanks for the food, mom." After saying that Kyle went up to his room.
