"Yes. I did." Nathalia replied with a smile. She didn't even hesitate in answering Anna's question. She sounded so confident to the point that Aaron is surprised to hear that response from her. "I didn't regret having a crush on big brother Zedrick, I mean, just look at his face! He's handsome, kind, and sweet! No girls can ever overlook such a fine young man. Don't you think so too, Anna?"
Anna chuckled before saying anything back to her, "Nathalia, I think I have to agree with you."
"Girls, you're flattering me too much." Since they were little, Zedrick is already used to Nathalia's flattering words. At first, he was a bit embarrassed whenever she does that, but as she frequently does that to him, he got used to it.
To add more, Nathalia is the reason why he is good at his words when he talks to girls.
Not even a second, Aaron scoffed. Everyone in the room heard it. Anna, Zen, and Zedrick inwardly smirked, just like what they thought, Aaron is way too easy to deal with in this kind of situation. "Don't be fooled, Anna. You never know that this guy might actually be fooling you with his face. Don't be like Nathalia."
Hearing that, Nathalia frowns at Aaron and said, "What do you mean by that? Are you saying that I'm a fool?" Seeing that there is a bunch of throw pillow next to her, she reached for it, then throws it to his face.
Aaron didn't expect for that to happen and didn't have the time to avoid that throw pillow in time. In all honesty, even if Nathalia is slightly angry at him, he was kind of relieved that she has finally turned her attention to him.
Ever since they have arrived, all of her attention was on Zedrick and he did not like that. He kept asking himself why did he not like that. He's trying to find the answer within himself, but no matter how hard he tries, he just can't find it.
He thought that since Nathalia is the person who is involved with his dilemma, she might actually have the answer that he needs.
"So what if I did," Aaron said nonchalantly while he tries to hide his relieved face. Even if he does that, there is one person who knows him well to see right through him.
"My brother is a hopeless fool. He's hopeless." Anna murmured to herself, but Zen and Zedrick heard her.
When Nathalia stood up and went in front of Aaron to continue their so-call argument, Zedrick took this chance to sit right next to Anna. Now, Anna is in the middle of two Fischer members. "Well, we should at least take this as his first step, I guess?" Zedrick said.
Zedrick, himself, is not even sure anymore. He has seen many guys that are similar to Aaron. Guys who don't realize their own feelings and just annoy the girl they have their eyes on. However, none of those guys that have seen so far is exactly as hard to deal with like Aaron.
"You think that's the first step?" Anna asked. It is as if she heard the most ridiculous statement in her whole life. From time to time, she tries to make her brother realize his true feelings toward Nathalia, however, all those tries always end up being a failure.
She thought that this time, with Zen and Zedrick's help, her brother will finally realize everything. But no, that is not the case. Her brother is being as stubborn as a rock. How she wishes to just have a hammer and smash to his head. Maybe that way, her brother will finally stop looking the other way around.
"Do you think if we push his limit, will he, you know, say something he wouldn't expect at all?" Zen learned this kind of technique from Josh because one time, he really needed Josh's help and Josh just wouldn't agree on helping him. He tried everything to make Josh agree, then one day, he did something and it made Josh snapped. Josh said something to him at a slip of his tongue.
"You really think that can work?" Zedrick asked. It's even half a day yet and he is already tired from all of what's happening. How he wishes he could have just reject Zen's request. 'This is what I get from being too soft on Zen.' He inwardly said.
"You never know until you try. So go for it cousin!" Zen gave his cousin a two thumbs up. Even Anna is agreeing to the idea.
Sensing that he has no other choice, Zedrick only sighed and silently complained. In his opinion, Zen is lucky because he is the one who is doing it. If his information is correct, Aaron is one of those types who people shouldn't cross the lines with.
Zedrick stood up and walks towards Nathalia. Once he is right next to her, he puts his arm around her shoulder and said, "Come on now you two. There is no need to fight about such a simple matter. And Nathalia, I'm sure that this friend of yours isn't really serious about what he said."
Nathalia didn't notice it, but Aaron did. Zedrick purposely said the word 'friend'. Aaron is not exactly sure why Zedrick did that, but from what he understands from it, he thinks that Zedrick is trying to say that he should stay away from Nathalia.
That kind of interpretation got stuck in Aaron's mind and that irritates him. 'Who the heck are you to signal me that?' Aaron inwardly said.
While calming herself down, Nathalia said, "I guess you're right, big brother Zedrick." Nathalia is now, smiling brightly in front of Zedrick.
Aaron has been noticing it for a while now, and he is now sure that Nathalia is not being fair to him. Whenever she faces Zedrick she turns into this sweet and caring girl, but whenever she faces him, she turns into this very angry girl that he can't stand.
Annoyed by the sight Nathalia and Zedrick are showing to him, Aaron reached out to Nathalia's hand and pulled her away from Zedrick. Not even letting Nathalia have the chance to talk, Aaron took Nathalia away from the group. Where they are going? Anna and the others have no idea, but they have no intention of following them.
"Where are they going?" Zedrick asked. There is not even a single trace of worry in his tone. He is only curious about where Aaron is taking Nathalia to.
"I don't have a clue," Zen spoke, then he turned around and asks Anna. "But Nathalia is going to be okay, right?"
"My brother may be brute at times, but he will never, ever hurt Nathalia even if he wanted to. He has no heart to do it. He can be a real gentleman when it comes to her." Apart from teasing and making fun of Nathalia, Anna knows that whenever her brother touches Nathalia, he is always gentle to her.
"What do you two think will happen to them both?" Zedrick who's really curious about Aaron and Nathalia can't stop thinking of the many possibilities that might happen between them.
"I don't know, but I hope they won't fight about something so stupid. I can't stand it whenever Nathalia complains about the fight between her and Aaron." Zen said with a groan.
"There's no point in hoping for that, Zen. Even if it is stupid or not, they always fight." No matter what kind of topic it is, Aaron and Nathalia always find something they could not agree on, and it always ends up in a fight.
She doesn't even understand why are they attracted to one another.
After a few minutes of waiting, Aaron was the first one to reappear in front of them. Anna is about to ask her brother where did he and Nathalia go, but she held her tongue back when she saw the face her brother is showing to everyone.
"Let's go home, Anna. I don't feel well." Aaron said to Anna, but that only put a large question mark on her mind. Her brother sounded fine to her, he just looks so fl.u.s.tered and surprised.
"If you don't feel well, I can ask one of the maids to prepare a guest room for you to rest in. Sensing that something huge had happened between Aaron and Nathalia, Zedrick is urging Aaron to stay longer. His gossipy side is tingling. The urge of him wanting to solve a mystery is rising up.
"No!" Aaron didn't hesitate to reject Zedrick's request. "Thank you for the offer, but I would feel better if I lay in my bed." If he stays longer than what he needed, Aaron thinks that he might burst up and go crazy. So it is better for him to leave now than later.
"I guess that's it for today. I'll visit again next time." Feeling a bit sorry for her brother, Anna finally gives in and agreed to go home with him.
