"What are you thinking?"
Hearing that, Anna looks at the person in front of her. She didn't answer his question instead she stared at him. It is as if she's trying to trace every single detail in his face.
This man in front of her is truly handsome, and it's no wonder many girls have fallen for him. Sometimes she even thinks that it's better for him to be ugly than to be this handsome because with that, no one will look at him and she has no one to worry about. But then again, she is just like those girls. When she first met him, she was charmed by his face.
'I'm no better. Why did I even think of that?'
Seeing that the person in front of him seems like she did not hear his question, he decided to rephrase his question. "Anna, is there something that's bothering you?"
"Oh, it's not that serious really. I just heard from your sister that your childhood sweetheart is back." Anna said with a smile. "It must be nice, right Kyle?"
Although Anna's face is saying that she's not that bothered by that certain person, Kyle can't help but feel fl.u.s.tered and nonsensical thoughts are coming in his mind. He is not even sure if Anna is jealous or not, but his brain is telling him that he should tell Anna that he bears no feeling towards that person and she has no reason to worry.
"Childhood sweetheart? Since when did I have a childhood sweetheart?" Kyle knew exactly who Anna is talking about because before Anna came into his life, his mother always tells him about this so-called childhood sweetheart. He never acknowledges that person as that.
Just the thought it is even making him feel disgusted.
The only thing that he remembers from that person is that she was his first friend and only friend back then. After she left it made him cry, but it didn't bother him too much now because he realizes now that she has zero importance in his life.
He admits that he is grateful that she was his friend, but more than that, he would not even dare to look at her.
"I don't know. Don't ask me. I just heard of it." She lied. She knew about that person way back in her past life and she knew exactly that person's face. That person has the face, but in Anna's opinion, that is about it.
Kyle changed seats. He sat next to Anna, and he said, "Anna, there is no need for you to bother yourself with my sister's words. Besides, that person means nothing to me."
Anna knew that, however, there is this side of her that wants to act like a spoiled child in front of Kyle. Acting up like she doesn't believe him.
She looks at him in the eye, and then she turned away with a pout plastered on her face. In the corner of her eyes, Anna can see how fl.u.s.tered Kyle is, and she never knew that Kyle could look so adorable when is fl.u.s.tered.
Kyle was forced to coax Anna, and Anna is having a fun time with Kyle being so gentle towards her. Her brother was right, she needs to have some fun from time to time and that there is no need for her to be so uptight about her responsibilities within her family matters.
Not so far away from Anna and Kyle, there are two people who have an annoyed look on their faces.
"I know that I told her to have fun and relax, but I didn't mean for her to show us how much she is having with your brother. It's they are so annoying to watch." Aaron complained.
Currently, they are in their usual spot, at the cafe. It was supposed to be just the three of them, Anna, Aaron, and Lannie, but coincidently, they bump into Kyle and what is happening now is the result of that.
"Tell me about it. I love my brother and I love Anna, but they are so mean! How can they do this to me! To us! They shouldn't be all that lovey-dovey in front of us, single people. It's like they are torturing us." Not too long ago, Lannie realizes that for her sake, it is better for her not to be around whenever Anna and Kyle are together.
She would love to leave right at this moment, but she and Anna have places to go. She would love to pull Anna away from her brother, but her brother wouldn't even let get near Anna. With all that, Lannie did not have any other choice but watch Anna and Kyle have their moments.
"You know what? I'm not gonna bother myself with them anymore. I'm already sad as it is." Aaron averted his eyes away from the couple and just focus on the drink he is having.
Hearing that, Lannie smirked at him. "You're sad? Why are you sad?" She knew the reason why Aaron is sad, but she wants to hear it directly from him. It's rare to have a moment like this. Aaron is not the type of person who likes to share his emotional problems, after all.
"It's about Nathalia. I did something and I feel guilty for what I did to her, but at the same time I'm not guilty at all." With that statement, Lannie looks at him confusedly.
"You're guilty and you're not guilty. Would you mind telling me about that in detail?" She asked.
"I mean, I feel guilty because I forcefully pulled her, I lashed out on her, telling her to stay away from the man she knew since she was little. But I don't feel guilty about the fact that I kissed her." Aaron looks so glum as he said his words, but as for Lannie, she looks so happy that Aaron is expressing his thoughts to her.
"Aaron, you have to toughen yourself up and talk to her," Lannie said earnestly. "If you really can't do it, then I will gladly play this recording for Nathalia to hear."
Lannie showed her phone to Aaron and played the part where Aaron expressed his feelings and thoughts.
With his face turning bright red, Aaron tried to snatch Lannie's phone, but his effort was in vain. "Delete that!"
