"Mary, let's go."
It was early in the morning, and Arion is already up pestering Mary to go somewhere. Mary said a lot of excuses just to not get out of her bed, but Arion picked her up, put her in the bathroom tub, then showered her with cold water.
Mary was so angry at Arion that she didn't talk to him the whole ride towards their destination.
'I can't believe he did that to me. Why I even have to come along with him? Today's my day off from work, don't I deserve to have a long sleep?' Also, during the whole ride, Mary was cursing on her husband's name.
Glancing at the fuming Mary, Arion is feeling a little bit guilty about what he did to her earlier. He was in a hurry and he could go alone if he wants to, but he needed his wife to see what is going to happen.
Looking around the familiar place, Mary frowned. She genuinely has no idea what she and her husband are doing in a place like this. "What are we doing here?"
"We're here because my men have taken James to this place, and they are gonna start putting the device inside his body." Arion got a message from his men last night. He planned to go last night, but he was busy doing his work.
"They kidnapped James? And they plan to put the device on his body today? Don't you think that It's a bit obvious, James will know that somebody is going to put a tiny device inside his body." Mary has no idea what the whole plan was so in the end, she concluded that their intention will be blown to James.
"Don't worry," Arion replied. "Before they took James here, they put him to sleep first. A twenty-four-hour sleep. That time is enough for everything to be done." And during the surgery of putting the device inside James' body, Jame won't feel a single pain.
"What about when he wakes up? What are you gonna do?"
"It's easy. I'll have my men to bring him to the hospital and say that he collapsed or something before he wakes up." For Arion, he doesn't mind paying one of the doctors to lie to James that he has been in the hospital for the whole time he was sleeping.
Bargaining someone using money is not always his thing, but in this case, he doesn't mind using money.
"What about the scar? I'm sure he will question the doctor what happened to him when he sees his scar." In order to put the device on James' body, they have to cut a part of James' body open. Definitely, it's going to leave a scar.
"Don't worry about it. James has a scar when he had surgery years ago. We can just open the scar up and put it there. No biggie." Arion made it sound like it was so easy, but Mary, on the other hand, has mixed feelings about it.
'I only hope it goes well.'
Once Mary and Arion are inside the building, they meet up with the person who is going to be the one putting the device on James. Mary looks at the man from head to toe. She doesn't feel anything suspicious about him, but there is this mysterious aura that surrounds, and that somehow makes her curious about him.
Noticing the gaze Mary is giving to the man in front of them, Arion somehow feels irritated by. He blocks his wife's line of sight, then he asked, "Where is he?"
The man in front of Arion chuckled. He heard that Arion is the type of guy who gets jealous so easily when it comes to his wife, but he didn't actually believe it at first. Now that he is seeing it in person, he guesses that he should be careful around Mary or else, he will get his head chopped by Arion personally.
"Well, he's sleeping soundly. Even if you make a lot of noise, he won't wake up." The man said, then he led Arion and Mary to where James is at.
They entered the room and they saw James' face. James looks so peaceful when he is sleeping, it's hard to believe that this peaceful face can turn into an ungrateful man who is full of greed.
"Do you want to be alone with your brother first, Master Arion?" The man asked. He knew that there a dispute going on inside the Coleman family, and that dispute deeply involved James and Arion.
Although James is not dying, he thought that it would be best if Arion would let out everything that he wants to say because this might be the last time for them to see each other.
After giving some thoughts about it, Arion agreed in the end. "Yes. I would like that." After that, Mary and the man left the room.
All alone in the room with James sleeping the bed, Arion stared at James. Anger, sadness, and deep pain are what he is feeling right now. All the respect that he had for his brother is now all gone. He tolerated his brother's cold acts towards him after being announced as the heir because he was feeling guilty.
However now, the guilt is long gone after hearing James' betrayal.
"You know, you could have just told me that you wanted to be the one running our family business and I would have given it to you. You're my brother, the perfect one... and I'm the rebellious one. Back then, I thought that you deserved the throne more than I do..." Every word that comes out of Arion's mouth is full of sadness.
"...but it is all too late for that now. You are no longer the brother that I knew, and that would mean, you don't deserve to be sitting on the throne." This time, it's full of anger.
Seeing James laying down on the bed and can't do anything other than sleeping peacefully is making Arion feel like he wants to end James right at this moment. But he stopped his urge. He needed James to be part of his plan taking down the group who killed his father's brother.
James is just another piece of a pawn that he needed to make sure his plan goes well. "No hard feelings, brother. You're the one who did this first."
While Arion is taking his time inside the room, Mary is staring at the man in front of her, then she said, "Why did you suggest that to my husband?"
Mary might not have evidence to prove, but she can tell that this man knows a lot about what is happening inside the Coleman family. Since that is the case, then why did he suggest to her husband to have some alone time with James in that room?
The man smile, then he said, "Your husband looked like he wanted to have some alone time with his older brother. And as someone who can see through your husband, I am generous enough to have his wish come true." From the way he talks, for some reason is makes Mary feel annoyed by it.
It is as if he is telling her that she can't even see through what her husband wants to do. Of course, she knew that. She didn't want to let it happened, because sometimes, in this kind of case, her husband can too emotional and might lose his temper in the process.
"That might have been his wish, but it is not what he truly wanted." What her husband truly wants it to turn back time to when he and James are not yet distant to each other. The time before Marcus announced who is the heir.
"Well, since you are his wife and you know him better than I do, I have nothing to say to that." As the man is about to excuse himself to prepare the things that needed to perform his job, he said a few more words to Mary. "Mrs. Coleman, there is a bunch of papers laying on the table. It's on the next door. I think it's best that you should check that out."
Mary didn't say a word and only nodded, then she watched the man walk away. That man is silent in his steps, it looks like he is not just someone who can perform surgeries. There is more to what he does.
She wonders what kind of person he truly is.
Without further ado, she went to the room that man was talking about. Once she got her hands on the papers, she read through it. While she does that, she frowns at each word that she is reading. 'You have to be kidding me.' He inwardly said.
After a while, Arion entered the same room as her, then he asked. "Why are you making that face? Is something wrong?"
