Chapter 504 - Revenge 505: Can't Meet Tomorrow

Name:REBORN: Revenge Author:C_J_Taganna
"Why do I feel like you made things worse for us, Anna?" Ophius asked. His voice sounded like he is out of energy.

"Does it matter? I mean we're already in trouble, might as well share what I think." Anna nonchalantly replied.

It has been five minutes ever since the talk with her parents. Anna thought that they are going to immediately be punished after the talk, but unexpectedly, her parents decided to wait until they saw the information that they got from the mission.

That gave the four of them hope. But they don't expect much that hope.

"True," Another unexpected thing is that Ophius has calmed down. To be more precise, he doesn't care anymore. After thinking things through, nothing he says will matter anymore. It will only be a waste of breath to keep on complaining.

"So, Ophius and I will stay here?" Lucia asked. She has no problem staying over at the Coleman mansion, but she also doesn't want to overstay her welcome.

"Yeah. I heard from my grandfather that he already talked to your parents and until everything is over, the two of you will stay."

Aaron wanted to laugh at Lucia's question, but he restrained himself. It surprised him when she asked that when she, in fact, has been coming in and out of the Coleman mansion whenever she feels like it.

"That sucks." Despite getting herself into trouble with her parents, Lucia still wanted to go home. She wanted to finish the project she's been working on, and once that project is done, she wants Mary and Mike to take a look at it.

'Looks like that project will have to wait.' She inwardly said.

While continuing their conversation, Anna's phone suddenly vibrated. She took a look at it, and a smile appeared on her face.

Aaron who have seen that smile a couple of times whenever she's on her phone, it's not hard for him to guess who is the reason for that smile of hers. 'Just one message from that can bring that smile out in an instant? That guy sure has quite an effect on her.'

Soon after, Anna's smile disappeared and her eyes showed sadness. Curious about why she is showing such emotion, Aaron asked, "What's wrong?"

"Kyle wants to meet up tomorrow at our usual meeting spot, but I can't." Most likely, her mother has finally decided on what kind of punishment they will take, and her mother will definitely not let her out and meet Kyle until the punishment is over.

Furthermore, her mother is not the type of person to make an exemption just because she is going out on a date with her boyfriend.

"Oh, so sad..." Aaron smirked. He didn't even feel bad that it's impossible for Anna and Kyle to meet up tomorrow.

"Why don't you just tell him that you can't come tomorrow and reschedule for another day?" Ophius suggested.

Ignoring that smirk on her brother's face, Anna faces Ophius and said, "I would love to say that, but I don't know when will that 'another day' come."

With Kyle busy with his studies and learning more knowledge about his family business under his father's care, Kyle doesn't have much free time as Anna wanted him to have. And she is not the type of person to get in Kyle's way. She doesn't want to be a girlfriend that gets in the way of her lover's success.

"If that's the case, then there is nothing you can do. Just tell him the truth, and I'm sure he'll understand." Ophius has no idea what kind of person Kyle is, but from the way Anna is talking about him, he is convinced that Kyle really cares for Anna and whatever circ.u.mstances Anna is facing, he will be able to understand.

Following what Ophius said, Anna told Kyle the truth. She feels bad, but she doesn't want to get his hopes up for tomorrow. 'It looks like I have to again for another time.' Anna inwardly said.

She is sad, but there is nothing she can do about it.

"Don't be sad, Anna."

Anna felt her brother's hand on her back, but if she didn't know any better, her brother is only faking it. The grin on his face is enough to tell her that he is enjoying the fact that she and Kyle can't meet up and it's going to take a while before they meet up again.

"Oh, shut it, you. I will be doing the same thing to you when Nathalia rejects you."

"Rejects me? How can you be sure that will happen?"

"It's easy. You said that you're going to court her, but did you? No. You didn't do any courting yet. Soon, Nathalia will get tired of waiting and rejects you." Right now, it's impossible for that to happen, but if her brother continues not to do anything, Anna is confident that Nathalia is going to get tired of waiting.

"Nonsense." Aaron doesn't believe a word Anna is saying. He is sure that his sister is only saying that because she is annoyed by him. So he is not gonna let her word gets into his head.

"Don't kid yourself, Aaron. That is a fact, you know?" Ophius said, then he snickered. He has a friend who said the same thing but didn't do any courting, at all. In the end, his friend got rejected.

Ophius has no idea why courtship is very important to girls when in the end, they're going to be in a relationship with that suitor. But what right does he have to say anything? It's better to keep his opinion all to himself.

"What's this? The great Aaron Coleman is going to get dump so soon? Aww, I can't for that to happen." Lucia commented in a ridiculing tone. She can't wait to see Aaron's crying eyes when Nathalia rejects him. And when that moment comes, she will record it.

Aaron is silent, he is definitely thinking about the possibility of it to happen. It has been days since the day he said those words to Leonardo, and he has yet done anything for Nathalia. Worry is suddenly engulfing his heart.

"Hmm? Why are you making that face?" It's Anna's turn to make her brother feels what she felt earlier when he was teasing her. He should not have started and she would not have said a word.

~~~
Meanwhile, on Kyle's side, he is staring at the message Anna replied to him. He doesn't know what to say. Should he reschedule for another day or should he convince Anna to slip away from her mother's grasp?
He doesn't want to do either of those. If he reschedules, it's going to take a few more days before he could find free time for him, and he badly wants to see Anna right now. And if he told Anna to slip away, then she would get in trouble with her mother, he doesn't want to see her be in trouble because of him.
"Damn it." He muttered, but he was heard by his family.
"What's the matter, Kyle?" Elijah asked.
"He's like that because Anna can't meet him tomorrow," Lannie said. She sits right next to her brother and it's not hard for her to see the conversation between the two lovers.
Kyle glared at Lannie for peeking at his phone. He can't believe that even at this point, his sister is still as nosy as ever.
"And why she can't?"
Ignoring her brother's glare, Lannie continued to speak, "She got herself in trouble while she was out on a mission, and her mother got angry because of it, and now getting punished for it tomorrow."
"Lannie, can you stop doing that?" Kyle is irritated at the fact that the question for him is being answered by her. "I can speak on my own, there is no need for you to do that."
"Oh, please. I'm sure that you wouldn't answer my grandfather's question that's why I took the liberty to answer it for you. You should at least be grateful of me." Her brother talks as if she doesn't know him.
Growing up together with her brother, she knew that he's the type to never answer anybody's question, even in their family, unless he felt like answering it.
"Anyways, back to our original topic..." Elijah interrupted them. He can already tell that if they continue, they going to end up arguing, and at his age, he can't stand hearing them like that. "If she can't come tomorrow to meet up with you, then why don't you just visit her?"
Elijah has no idea what his grandson is thinking, but a solution like what he just said is a simple solution. 'Why didn't he just thought of that instead of staring at his phone and thinking so hard?'
Kyle was left in silence, he didn't know what to say. He can't believe that someone as intelligent as he can't think of a simple solution like that.
"You're right. Thank you, Grandfather."
