While eating breakfast, Anna was shocked to hear what her brother just said to her.
"You told them about my relationship with Kyle?" Anna specifically told her brother that he should not share that information with anyone until she and Kyle are ready to announce.
Her father still hasn't approved of her relationship with Kyle, they both want her father to be the first one to approve their relationship since he is the hardest one to persuade.
"My mouth probably slipped when I was talking to Lucia over the phone, and she might have told Ophius about it." Aaron didn't even try to lie about it. He totally forgot that his sister told him to keep his mouth shut about her and Kyle's relationship as long as it is necessary.
The reason why he suddenly blurted that information out to Lucia is that Lucia kept on asking and asking about his sister. He had enough of her pestering him, so he said what he should not have said.
"It's alright, Anna. It's not gonna change anything if the whole world knows about us. I will have to work harder for your father to bless our relationship." Kyle puts his hand on top of Anna's, trying to not let her get angry at Aaron.
There's must be a reason why Aaron blurted their relationship to Lucia, but he wouldn't pry. In fact, he is happy that happened. Now that Lucia knows about his relationship with Anna, this would also be a way for him to say that she should back off.
While they are talking, they didn't notice Arion and Mary, who just arrived at the dining table.
"I must be so tired..." Said Arion.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"My dear love, I think I'm hallucinating that punk is here, sitting right next to our daughter."
Arion just woke up, he came down to get himself breakfast and coffee, but as soon as he reached the dining table, he was startled and didn't know how to properly react. With the continuous work he has been doing, he believes that he is still tired and needed for sleep, because of this so-called tiredness of his, he also believes that he's hallucinating.
Mary looks at the direction her husband is staring at, and it seems like she found something that could entertain her morning.
"No. You are not hallucinating. You can clearly see that your daughter's man is here to visit her. Isn't that so sweet of him." From time to time Mary would ask her daughter the progress with Kyle, so she knew that Kyle is quite busy nowadays.
Despite the busy days that Kyle has, he always finds time for her daughter. She couldn't be happier that this certain young man is so devoted to Anna.
"Her man? Did you really just say that? You know damn well that I don't like him." Arion has no idea his wife doing it on purpose or not, but she always has to mention Kyle's connection with their daughter out of the blue or when he is not in the mood.
'Was that her way of saying that I should let things flow between Anna and Kyle be? If so, then I will not agree to it.' He inwardly declared.
Noticing that there are people other than them at the dining room, Lucia glance where those other people are, then she smirked. 'Oh, Kyle. Don't think that I have no idea what's going between you and Anna's father.'
"Uncle Arion! Good morning! Come on, eat breakfast with us. And as you can see, there's a visitor at your manor." Lucia smiled brightly, but the smile indicated a whole new meaning to Kyle.
Kyle inwardly scoffed. 'You're creating trouble for me, eh? You'll see, I'll survive this without a doubt.'
"Yes. A visitor, an unwanted visitor." Arion gave a glare to Kyle, but Kyle only smiles warmly at him. Now, Arion is even asking himself, why does he even bother glaring at Kyle when he knows it's not gonna scare Kyle off.
"My dear husband, don't be like that. I'm sure that Kyle came unnoticed because he wanted to spend more time with Anna. And as you know, the Robertson family has a tradition that their heir will receive lots and lots of lessons about their business. At such a young age, he's already this busy, yet he still manages to find time for our princess."
If her husband is going to act like this towards Kyle, then she's going to treat Kyle the opposite way. She won't let Arion bully her daughter's suitor.
"My dear wife, why are you backing him? It's common knowledge to let the other party know if he plans to pay us a visit, especially to our daughter. It's respect. He can't just waltz in our manor whenever he wants to." Arion feels sad that his wife is not siding with him in this matter, but nevertheless, he is not backing down just because she is siding with Kyle.
"Yes. What you said is true. However, Kyle is already like a family to me and to our daughter, so I told him that he can waltz in our manor whenever he wants to." Truthfully said, she never did gave Kyle that permission, but it never hurts to give it to Kyle now.
"Wha... You can't do that...!" Arion is at a loss of words when he heard that.
"Oh, my dear husband, yes. Yes, I can do that. You've been gone for more than ten years, practically, I'm the head of this manor now, and I'm your wife, so what I say goes, okay?." While Mary is saying this, she's holding the fork, then she purposely bends it in front of her husband. After that, she looks at where the maids are and she said, "Oh my, can you please get me another fork?"
Unable to find the right word to say to his wife, Arion turn his head around and intently stared at his son. It's as if he is asking for his son to help him out against Mary.
Instead of looking at his father's pleading eyes, Aron focuses his whole attention on the food in front of him.
"Hey, I think your father wants your attention," Ophius whispered to him. He almost felt bad just by looking at Arion's face.
"I know. Don't look at him, and don't make me look at him. I don't want to get involved in their nonsense fight." Aaron knows better than to get himself involve. If he tries to support his father, then he will get himself in trouble with his sister and mother, and if he didn't support his father, then the same thing will happen to him.
The only solution he found is to not get involved no matter what.
"Okay, if you say so." If that is what Aaron's wish, then Ophius has no right to force him to do something he doesn't want to. Besides, even if he is in Aaron's shoes, he might do the same thing.
With what he has seen so far, it seems to him that all of it is just like a drama from a show.
Seeing that his son has no intention of getting himself involved, Arion felt sad and at the same time, he understands why his son is like that. The only backer that he has right now, is Lucia. He can tell that Lucia doesn't like Kyle, and she's the best teammate Arion could ever have.
"Lucia, it looks like it's up to you and me now."
Anna can't believe that she heard that loud and clear from her father. Why can't her father just stop acting so childish? As for her mother, why can't she just not ignore her father's word? With them talking back at each other, it feels like it's not gonna end soon.
Sighing, Anna took held Kyle's hand and said, "We're done with our breakfast, so I'm gonna take Kyle out in the garden and please, don't follow us." Anna firmly said, especially to her father.
She loves her father, but she can't have him ruin her day with Kyle. They rarely see each other nowadays, and it would be such a shame if she can't have Kyle all to herself until it lasted.
"Look at you've done. You made our daughter run away. Now I can't ask her and Kyle any questions." Mary was planning to tease the two, but because of her husband's faulty attitude, the questions that she had on her head is now useless and unanswered.
"It's not just Dad's fault, Mom. It's also yours." Aaron said with a sigh in the end.
He wipes his lips with a napkin, then left the dining room. After leaving, he suddenly felt good. Since the beginning, he's been itching to say a word towards her mother and father.
'Now you two will feel guilty.' He inwardly said.
"Well, isn't this quite a lovely breakfast." Ophius is not even sure what to say anymore.
