Chapter 371: Trapped (Birds in a cage)

His premonition got real just a moment after when he got the report from one of his Shadow Clan members that were protecting his wives.

The Shadows were keeping quiet at the moment since they didn't want to attract too much attention and create too many enemies, as the ladies were defending themselves.

But the fact stood that the duo's life seemed to get shorter, as the 'Black Guards' were already on the edge, and might act soon.

To them, Tianlong Yun's wives were kind of sacred, because those women were kind and helped them during their difficult times.

Not to mention that Tianlong Yun had pulled them off the streets and gave them a family, and a place where to belong.

How could they allow that someone placed their vile eyes on the family of the person that saved, and gave them all this?

They had intentionally created that big ruckus at the entrance, but it seemed like it didn't really work how it should since these vermin hadn't understood their meaning.

But soon they would because the Yellow River was just a few steps ahead. The only reason they hadn't acted until now was that Tianlong Yue and Lu Bing weren't allowing them to.

Apparently, the two idiots that were vying for his wives were from the Orientalists group, and the Westernos, a relatively big power that was comparable to them.

The reason why the Orientalists were higher up in the ranking chart was because of the number of their members, as the Westernos had been turned into a vassal power of the Masson's.

Old Man Jenk was one of the heads of the Westernos organization, and also the grand-grand-grand father of one of the two guys fighting for his wives.

While the other, Old Man Feng was in the same position as Old Man Jenk, he had an advantage in front of him, since his youngling was a genius to the organization, and was a future head.

Tianlong Yun didn't care much about these idiots, once he started to take control of the planet and clean the place a bit, these guys would be the first that would take a walk towards the Yellow River.

But that was a situation for later, right now he had more important things to think about as he asked his Shadow about the passage, and anything related.

Apparently, the big powers had found the possible passage to the other side, but there was a powerful formation blocking them to enter, and without removing that formation they could do nothing.

According to the formation experts they had, it would take at least a month or two to crack open the formation, and for them to be able to pass through the passage.

Knowing all this, and seeing that he had this much time, Tianlong Yun decided to turn around and go have a look at the entrance, from where they came.

He couldn't place to rest his bad premonition about this place, something was wrong in here and extremely wrong at that.

Telling the 'Black Guards' not to move without his or the ladies' order, only if the situation was truly necessary, he turned around and started walking towards the gate of the Rocky Fortress.

After the check on the gate, he would take some time to do some research on the experimental subjects he collected, and especially those Vampires.

He had stayed at the battlefield long enough to understand that these guys were immortal up to some stage.

As a matter of fact, they were immortal for as long as they had some kind of powerful essence in their bodies that they accumulated through some means.

The more they used their blood and the essence in their blood to regenerate themselves, the more their blood color changed, and when it was a light red, close to orange that showed the end of their immortality.

Their regeneration would significantly drop, and it would take a long time for them to even regenerate their skin, as slowly their body stopped working and they died.

This was just the beginning of his research as he needed to know more, but he was slowly generating an idea on how to make his findings useful to himself.

Not to forget that there were even the partial souls he had collected, and they were another interesting topic in and of itself.

With these thoughts in mind, Tianlong Yun decided to take the long route and check on the other two districts as well.

Just like the previous two even in these districts, the situation was the same, people were fighting like crazy, killing each other left and right, as the situation got even more chaotic.

Most of the people that were dying here were either free cultivators or people from low families that was why no one was bothered with this situation.

Tianlong Yun had nothing he could do either, these people would never listen to his words, once they saw his age and face.

For that reason, he didn't even bother to say anything as he continued to make his way towards the Gate. Which he was able to reach only after 3 or 4 hours at top speed.

This Rocky Fortress was big, really big. According to his estimations, this fortress city alone could shelter around 20 million people or more.

What attracted Tianlong Yun's attention were the structures near the gate of the fortress, as they seemed like slave pens'.

And by the looks of it, there was a large number of them, which meant that there was a large number of slaves in this place.

But how were these slaves procured, did these guys fought with the other possible cities inside the space? While that might be probably there was one more definite way.

Them!

All the cultivators that had entered this space, were a lot in numbers, and would perfectly make up for the numbers.

Could it be that this place was just a big trap for them? Could it be that they were just some flies caught in a honey trap!?

With these thoughts in mind, he reached the gate area, only to be stunned by what was in front of him. The original barrier outside the gate had been activated.

That was the barrier that allowed nothing to neither enter in nor get out. They were trapped! They were truly trapped inside this big Rocky Fortress.

They were trapped inside this big cage, and at the moment they hadn't even realized this fact. People were still fighting and pillaging this place, without knowing that all that was for naught.

None of them would be able to leave this place alive, and sane. In Tianlong Yun's eyes, they had only three possibilities, the strong became puppets, the mid became slaves, and the weak died.

If Tianlong Yun wasn't mistaken, then most probably the place where the locals lived was inside this Rocky Fortress and were preparing for their hunting season.

It clearly looked like they had organized a hunt, as they had lured their prey inside their area, had left them to take out the weak ones themselves, as they clearly were preparing on the sideline.

Everything was so well set, and so well prepared that probably when the people start to notice and understand what was going on, they would already have fallen into the hands of the locals.

But Eric had no interest in letting his Shadow Clan members become slaves or puppets, and even less did he have an interest in becoming one himself.

With these thoughts in mind, he approached the gate slowly, continuously checking his surroundings as he wanted to have a closer look at the barrier formation outside.

It wasn't that he was overly cautious, especially while having the Vanishing Powder in effect around his body, with the new product he had concocted even Body Integration Realm cultivators couldn't notice him.

Even though these guys were more specialized in the matters of the soul, and spiritual sense, they still shouldn't really be able to find him without being in proximity of their original bodies.

The reason why Tianlong Yun was continuously checking his surroundings was that he wanted to find a bee that would lead him to the beehive.

Even though this way seemed like a long shot, he didn't have many options right now. Still, he wasn't able to find anything no matter how he checked.

Approaching the barrier around the Fortress, he started to have a look at the formation, and its patterns.

He was able to recognize the major part of them, but even though he was extremely knowledgeable about the formations, he was unable to understand a part of them.

Those patterns and symbols actually looked familiar to him, but still, he was unable to properly understand them.

This seemed like a joke but it was actually true, he couldn't understand how he could recognize something, but be unable to understand it.

It took him a while of hard thinking until he finally found the solution, he had seen these patterns and symbols some other place, and that was the notes of the mysterious cultivators he had taken an inheritance from.

He wasn't able to think of this from the beginning because he never thought that there would be someone else like him, but apparently, he was really mistaken.

This small planet was getting more and more mysterious in his eyes, and he was slowly becoming more and more curious to understand what was going on.

But that was for later, right now what mattered was that he was able to understand the new patterns and symbols.

While they looked a bit different from the ones in the notes, their roots were practically the same, and so was their use.

If he wasn't wrong the ones on the notes were just an improved version of the ones in front of him. But he had to say that he was a bit amazed by what he was understanding from the formation, and the patterns…
