Chapter 33 Barbarians
The rich smell of grease surrounded the arena.
At the edge of the arena, Clea was flipping an entire sheep on the grill.
How could she not have any barbecue skills in the alternate world?
It had been almost three years since Kane transmigrated. In his previous life, he was very good at eating, but as for cooking, he was only good at home-cooked food.
He was a little confident in his barbecue skills after hunting in the forest of Raqqa.
He’d wanted to show off to Clea, but she said she knew a little about cooking.
After eating the skewer of meat she’d baked, Kane honestly gave up on the idea of getting involved in cooking.
What the hell am I roasting?
Because Clea needed a lot of food for every meal, she even had a spatial equipment specially made to keep the ingredients fresh.
So Kane could only help her with some ingredients.
Time passed quickly.
After Kane ate a roast duck, Clea had finished a lamb.
He toyed with the plasticine and waited for her to fill up.
After a while, Clea was finally full.
He packed up the surrounding trash and threw it into his spatial equipment. Kane asked Clea, who was grooming herself beside him, “Are you ready? We’re going to prepare for the next level.”
“Yes.” Clea nodded vigorously.
Although he said he was entering the next level, Kane did not move.
The noise from the stands began to rise, as if an audience had entered.
He waited for things to quiet down.
The crystal hourglass rose into the air and the bell rang.
The tournament began.
The first wave was the same monster that decided this theme. It was weak and representative.
However, the monster that appeared first this time was not weak on the surface.
A two-meter-tall human-shaped figure condensed.
A hairy barbarian fighter wearing a beast robe and holding two axes.
Kane shot an arrow first to determine if it was a replica.
The sinister transparent arrow was finally detected when it was about to hit.
But there was no chance to dodge at such a close distance. The barbarian fighter could only try his best to avoid his vital parts.
In the end, he dodged the fatal blow, but there was a bloody hole in his shoulder. As the arrow disappeared, blood gushed out.
The barbarian fighter might have dodged Kane’s fatal blow. When he came to his senses, he could only see his toes.
Clea would not be idle while that arrow was fired.
By the time he had dodge the arrow, a long sword was across his neck.
After killing the first monster, Clea returned to her position and waited for the next wave.
The faint light drifted down slowly.
This time there was just one more monster.
The two barbarian fighters didn’t even have the right to make them sweat.
He quickly ended the battle.
The third wave was three barbarian fighters.
For both Kane and Clea, single-target damage was sufficient, without much range damage.
That was why the Goblins on the second level could get Kane and Clea into more trouble with their numbers.
And the theme of this level was already obvious. It was monsters of greater mass than number.
It only took one attack to kill a goblin. Killing a barbarian fighter was just one more time. However, goblins only appeared in the dozens. As for barbarian fighters, there were a few of them.
It was surprisingly easy.
As the three monsters fell, the third wave was declared over.
Clea took a bottle of water and drank it beside Kane.
This time only one monster was condensed.
“Be careful. It seems this one is not simple.”
This time it was a barbarian warrior, compared with the barbarian fighters.
He had an additional iron equipment on him and a shoulder armor made of a wolf’s head on one shoulder.
He had a black tattoo on his face and a long axe in his hand.
With a sudden swing of his left hand, he used his gauntlet to deflect the transparent arrow Kane shot at him.
“His combat instincts are not bad.” With that, Clea took out her battle axe, Father’s Glory, and charged at the barbarian warrior opposite her.
Seeing that she was serious, Kane didn’t want to disturb her. He could only help her at the side.
Clea’s charge sent the battle axe crashing down on the barbarian warrior with a powerful impact.
The barbarian warrior tried to block it with his axe, but the force was so great that he moved a few steps backwards.
Clea wasn’t going to give him a chance to adjust. She swung her battle axe continuously at him.
The barbarian warrior was attacked till he was steadily losing ground. He could only use all his strength to defend against her attacks. Once he failed to defend himself, then he could only say goodbye.
Clea suddenly changed her attack from splitting to smashing. The sudden change in attack took the barbarian warrior off guard.
He was sent flying. His 2-meter body was sent flying by Clea.
Kane felt hot-blooded as he watched. It was too violent. The way she attacked with every smash.
Which man wouldn’t like it?
The barbarian warrior who had landed had no time to defend himself. He was killed by Clea’s axe as she charged at him.
He could tell from her expression that she was not very satisfied with this duel.
As Clea walked over, Kane said, “Nice fight. Your strength and skill were beyond my reach.”
Clea laughed. “If I’m not strong or skilled, how can I hold the enemy back for you in battle?”
Kane smiled and said nothing more.
Quietly watching the hourglass in the sky, waiting for the next wave of enemies.
The sand of the hourglass gradually flowed down through the hole.
Finally, the last grains of sand were down.
In the arena, Kane and Clea slowly applied red medicine to their bodies.
As the number of enemies increased, it was inevitable that they would be hit. However, they were all small wounds. As the red medicine worked, these wounds quickly scabbed over.
In less than three hours, these wounds would heal.
Red medicine was very effective for minor external injuries.
The last monster began to coagulate.
He was still dressed like a barbarian, but he was only wearing a beast skin skirt.
His bare upper body was covered in black totem tattoos.
According to the strength of the barbarians just now, it could be known that the more tattoos on their bodies, the stronger they were.
And this last monster’s body was covered in tattoos. His strength could be seen from the tattoos on his bare feet.
He was a barbarian totem warrior.
He dodged Kane’s arrow with a casual tilt of his head.
He ran straight at Kane with two axes, ready to kill the archer first.
Clea wasn’t going to just let him go after Kane. She brought the axe down on him.
He raised an axe and blocked Clea’s attack.
Then he pushed the tomahawk aside.
Clea could sense that the totem warrior was stronger than she was. A spiderweb shot over and tied one of the totem warrior’s hands tightly.
But he only pulled hard, and the spider silk broke.
Then he raised both axes, wanting to finish off Clea, who was blocking the way.
Kane quickly filled his bow and shot three consecutive arrows.
The arrival of the three arrows forced the totem warrior to withdraw his axe to defend himself against Kane’s attack.
Clea took the opportunity to step back and adjust herself for her next attack.
