"Marry you?! What are you? A weird pervert who takes advantage of young girls after hiring them?" Xiao Wei exclaimed.
Even though Wallace is a handsome and capable man, that doesn't give him the right to let alone negotiate, talk to her like this.
"I'm not joking, Miss Wei. Of course I'm not doing this because I'm a kind person who wants to help others. I'm doing this because I want you to remember. Selfish? I don't mind being called that. But the only way I can make you remember is by being closer to you than anyone."
This was the first time Wallace talked that much. To be exact, it was surprising how he talked calmly without intimidating Xiao Wei. Like he was purposely trying to make her comfortable.
"I don't want to remember. How does that sound? I'll send my lawyer tomorrow to cancel the contract." Xiao Wei retorted.
"You should've remembered by now. It's been two years. The doctor said you'd remember within 6 months.. unless there's some external pressure." Wallace's eyes darkened.
Xiao Wei wasn't dumb. She could tell easily that someone was behind this. But.. She met her doctor many times and the doctor said nothing was wrong with her.
It was time for her to take charge and investigate.
"I'll wait for your answer, Miss Wei. No one in this country can provide you the power I can. Think about it. For now, I'll let you leave this place. Figure things out within two days." Wallace walked away like a gust of cool breeze after saying these.
Was he giving her an ultimatum? Of course she was going to get the hell out of this place. But the things he said.. what if they were true? What if someone actually didn't want her to remember?
She kept thinking as she boarded the taxi.
"Xia Hospital. Go from the back route." She instructed the driver.
It wasn't new for the driver as many celebrities or socialites often visited the hospital from the back route to avoid raising suspicion. Xiao Mei naturally looked like a rich miss so the driver didn't question her even though the way was longer.
Xiao Wei got down the taxi and put on her long coat and thick spectacles to avoid getting too much attention.
Her heart beat fast as she discreetly walked up the stairs.
She didn't know what to expect.
