Arriving at the Jia residence, Jia Ling casually glanced around as she entered. There were a few of the people working there scattered around, carrying out their various jobs and responsibilities without slacking in the slightest.

As she walked past, their eyes followed her until she was no longer within their sight. Although the past her was naive and a bit arrogant, due to her less than ideal situation and position within the residence, she didn't actually have much contact with the majority of the residence's employee's. She had actually only spoke to a small handful of people in the residence, none of which would be willing to speak up for her; not that she ever gave them reason to.

Despite not having much contact with them, they all looked at her with disgust or disdain. This couldn't be helped though, although they have almost no contact with her they often hear the madam of the house and the young miss badmouthing her. Even if you never met someone before if others constantly portray them as a horrible person with bad manners, overtime your opinion of the person will eventually drop, whether consciously of subconsciously your impression of them will eventually turn for the worse.

Furthering their bad impression of her is the fact, the four young masters of the house never refuted or disagreed with what their mother and sister was saying. Those working there decided to taking their silence as a silent agreement, believing they never commented on it because they found such gossip too lowly to comment on.

...

Jia Ling looked at the lock on the wooden box, trying to remember if she ever had a key which looked like it would fit. After coming up with no answers she put the small wooden box away before turning her attention to the thick envelope.

Picking up the envelope and opening it while simultaneously sitting on the edge of her bed, she then began to read the contents of the letter silently, these were the only words she will ever receive from her mother so she read them carefully and seriously, taking every single word in. By the end of the letter her expression was warm but at the same time she also appeared slightly shocked and surprised by what she had just read. The contents were obviously not what she had expected.

She was always told her mother was gentle and kind but also fragile and that's why after what happened she couldn't bear it and eventually ended her own life but from what she just read, this description doesn't quite fit her mother completely, she didn't seem so fragile or weak.

What happened to her would affect anyone and could even permanently scar people but the person who wrote the letter- her mother- didn't seem like she had any plans of ending her life.

She didn't seem like she wanted to leave her behind, the letter indicated she hoped she wouldn't have to read this letter in the future and that they could live happily together. Not to mention some of the things that were written in the letter.

"Simply... not so simple" Jia Ling's disbelief could easily be heard as she muttered the sentence. Most people would be at least a little shocked if they found out their mother wasn't quite who you always thought and was different from how you originally perceived them to be. After staring blankly for a few more seconds she looked into the envelope and took out two hundred thousand Yuan. ( Around $30,000 or £23,000 )

This further proved her mother wasn't quite what everyone made her out to be, compared to other families within high-society this much really was nothing, but for her mother to leave this much for her despite the Chiu family falling into ruin and then adding her connections with CSH Bank, she really wasn't so simple.

Then, who was her mother really? What was her true personality?

What happened seventeen years ago?

Deciding to investigate the matter later, she placed the letter together with the box; hidden away. Considering even after she left her body and learned most of the Jia family's secrets along with various secret's from other family's, and she still didn't hear anything about her mothers personality being different or anything suspicious - either nothing happened and she's thinking too much or it's not a simple matter and is hidden deeply.

If it's the former then it's fine but if it's the latter then with her current status in the family, lack of connections and pitiful amount of money compared to others, it would be impossible to find out anything. If anything, trying to find out the truth now would either have absolutely no effect or would bring trouble and make it harder to find out anything later. It might even cause people to pay attention to who she is and what she is doing.

In this life her main goal is too live freely and peacefully without other peoples restrictions on what she can and can't do.

To live freely and peacefully would require a certain amount of money and to get rid of those who threaten that goal. She would need to brake off from her family, either fully or at least to a certain extent so that her step-mother and sister can't continue to actively make trouble for her.

As for making money Jia Ling already has an idea on what she can do, she lived for seven years after her accident which would have occurred in just over a year and a half's time. That's knowledge of what will happen in the next eight and a half years.

Unless you have photographic memory or somehow know you are going to be reborn no one is going to remember lottery numbers from years ago. However, you will remember certain things which could help.

Opening a company would attract too much attention and others would try to stop her, also the various problems and situations that could happen requires a lot of effort and a talent for business. Sure she learned a lot throughout those seven years but it's not like she had to run a company or ended up in a Ceo's body - not often such a high level personnel ends up in a coma.
