Chapter 19 - SOULMATES

That night, Ioan didn't dare to sleep. He made his brother take the medicine and cooled him down nonstop. Julien's body temperature wasn't drooping.

In that fever Julien violently shivered. His teeth chattered even though he was burning.

His body heat only subsided when it was early morning.

The next day, when Julien woke up he did not feel relaxed, even though Ioan took care of him the whole night. He actually felt more tired.

Regarding yesterday's event, Julien only remembered that he seemed to drink three glasses of wine and then got in heat in the garden. After that, his mind was blank.

In a trance, he seemed to have found someone. As for what happened afterwards, Julien couldn't remember. Naturally, he also didn't know any of his strange actions after meeting the villain last night.

Julien's eyes flickered. Then he said softly: "I will always listen to you, System."

[System: He he.]

Julien swallowed: "What happened last night?"

[System: I don't know. I was over-heated too.]

After washing his face, Julien first checked on Ioan. He wanted to ask him whether he did anything strange after he got drunk and in heat. He walked into Ioan's room. The curtains were closed, and there was a big lump on the bed. No need to guess, the man was still sleeping.

Julien's movement awakens Ioan. The man looked sleepy. He barely opened his eyes to look at his brother: "What are you doing?"

Julien said with an extremely complicated mood: "Checking if you are sleeping."

Ioan muttered quietly: "I'm."

After that, he turned over and continued to sleep.

Seeing this, Julien's eyes twitched, but he couldn't bother Ioan right now as he walked out of his room very quietly.

Some emotion seemed to be welling up inside him: "So I guess this is my retribution."

[System: Looks like even you know that someone like you deserves retribution!]

Julien smiled bitterly: "Is it usual for going into heat so often?"

[System: According to my information, no.]

Hearing System's answer reminded Julien that it was approximately time for him to go review something more about being omega in the clinic.

Julien made an appointment at the hospital for a routine health check up.

When Julien went he found a little bit plump doctor with kind eyes waiting for him. He was pleased to see the silver hair on the man. He had a face like some guy Julien would ask for directions in the street. He was wearing the white coat and in his hands seemed to be a patient file. Julien sent him a wide smile to make a good impression.

The doctor only lightly coughed a few times and then began his professional work.

The man maneuvered the mouse in his hands and his voice was steady as he explained: "Although heat cycles usually occur at random Mr. Baume's case is rare where heat occurs so often. However these symptoms are very mild and all your parameters are very healthy. Your condition right now is very good. It appears that you have been a bit over-tired recently, there isn't anything particularly to worry about. Right now all you need to do is rest a bit more. Later I'll prescribe you some vitamins and other things to help boost your health."

Julien was frowning the whole time. Then finally he couldn't help asking: "Can I suppress my heat cycle by taking medicine every day?"

When the doctor heard this he became more stern: "No. This can only make matters worse as you will become more resistant to the drug."

He gave him a reassuring smile: "This shouldn't be repeated even if you come into contact with an alpha unless you have found a soulmate."

Julien stared at him in utter bewilderment: "Soulmate?"

He heard about the idea of the soul mate. The soul mate concept postulates that love was somehow cosmically predestined and that ending up with anyone else would be a travesty. But it was not possible that there is just one person out there for someone, forever and always. There were scientific reasons that soul mates didn't exist.

The doctor explained in an understanding manner: "Is a name for people with 100% pheromones compatibility."

Julien's heart felt unwell: "I don't have one."

His expression when he was being choked up by this information was so funny and amusing that the old man couldn't help but laugh: "You think too much. Don't look at the compatibility between alphas and omegas in such a way. I have never come across a 100% match in my career as a doctor."

With his head full of chaotic thoughts, Julien left the clinic and went to the restaurant. Right now the time was around 4PM in the afternoon. No wonder he felt a little hungry.

The waiter served up a variety of barbequed seafood. Julien didn't even care about the food being burning hot and bit right into it. Delectable aroma immediately filled his mouth.

The meat, after being barbecued and smoked by the charcoals and with the added condiments and spices had became very flavorful. It was crispy, fresh, savory, tender and melted away immediately in his mouth. The flavor of the meat bounced around on his tongue before sliding into his stomach.

He gulped down a glass of cold water. It felt so rewarding after eating an overly hot meal, but at the same time it was also a very familiar feeling for no reasons.

Yesterday's memories were like fragments, assembling together haphazardly. Slowly, it came back to him. He then pulled a specific scene out from his memories.

He had grabbed Lucius and called him a snowman.

In his mind, the image of Lucius's expression nearly falling apart upon hearing his words appeared. Julien couldn't help but chuckle.

He sifted through his memories feeling proud of himself. But before that happened didn't he cuddle with him and then he… kissed him?

He kissed the villain?
