The eardrum tearing thunder blasts every time a powerful lightning strike descends from the murky heavens. Scores of trees and players are disintegrated in an instance. Rattle doesn't care that her spell has struck her own teammates. One of the Sunken Reef players is acting strange. Her hands are glowing bright orange and some sort of bubble appears to spread out towards them.
The odd thing about the bubble is that whenever it hits a player they die. Leaving nothing behind it seems that Sunken has some guts and has decided to take themselves out too. Only the bubble keeps growing even after the player who cast it is dead.
Rattle says, "RETREAT!!!" She still needs her team to sweep up the survivors. On one side lightning is coming down on the other the orange bubble of death is claiming lives.
Rattle is probably the only one who stands a real chance of making it alive. At the very least her own spell will not damage the only thing problem is that the bubble keeps growing faster. She is darting between trees and bushes and yet she can't seem to outrun it. Speeding across the jungle floor she leaps over her own teammates. Who is vaporized shortly after she tripped him?
She tries her best sliding, flipping and leaping through the jungle. The bubble does seem a little weaker but it has also sped up and is now snapping at her hills. Rattle tries her best eventually though she is zapped by the bubble.
"I'm telling you I couldn't have zapped the bubble, hell I could barely sense." Says Tyr somehow Rena has it in her head that Tyr can perform miracles.
" But you have all that magic power and you aren't even a spellsword. " Says Rena in a huff she has lost two hard-earned levels on this dungeon. If the challenges increase in difficulty then there is a high chance she will lose even more levels.
Nineth Immortal says, " Levels can always be reacquired, dear." Rena glares at Ninety Immortal with fire in her eyes. She has worked very hard for these levels and doesn't want to fall behind the player curve. Rena has her own goals she wants to achieve.
Rena says, " Easy for you to say your the only benefit from this place. I and my sisters are suffering did you forget that we are restricted to half our power here. We are in very real danger what's to stop you at the end of this dungeon to replace us with another team. "
Tyr rubbing his head as another headache pulses through him says, "It's fine we recruit only the best. No ordinary gamer can replace you guys." He is lying but he really needs the sister's heads in the game.
Amalya says, " We need a plan we can't continue like this." Tyr is filled with memories from his future.
Tyr says, " Fine we will cure you guys while we continue here." The girls all turn to him in shock. Due to the nonchalant manner in which he declared himself able to solve the biggest problem like it is as easy as making an upside-down cake.
Ninety Immortal says, " How that would be really useful. " Tyr looks at the girls who are gazing at him with expectant eyes.
Tyr says, " If any of you guys bothered to read your history on the nature of curses. You would that all temples can cure curses like the affecting Rena, Amalya and Lucinda. We just have to make sure to get Temple source."
The girls faces all look a bit confused, firstly he didn't have to talk down to them like their children and secondly can it really be that simple. Nineth Immortal says, "If it's that easy then why didn't you suggest it before."
Tyr, let's lose an audible sigh and says, " Because this is a high ranking temple. So of course they will have one. Otherwise, we would have to go begging to those greedy bastards at the Supreme church. Also, I didn't say easy I said it's possible." Tyr has a lot of experience with church and most of it is deeply unpleasant.
Rena says, " Fine if you really help us remove the curse then I don't mind." It is at this moment that Lucinda and Amalya look wearily at one another. They go through a series of head bodes before Lucinda loses.
Lucinda says, " While I would appreciate losing the curse. It is also the source of pit power..." Tyr cuts her huffing and says.
"The curse isn't the source of your power. That doesn't even make sense you are all bonefish spirit guardians. The curse is simply a way for that filthy Wraith to get his grubby hands on your souls. "
Rena says, " So does that mean we get to keep our abilities?" Tyr only starts walking towards the next area. he is done with this conversation. It is only when Nineth Immortal say something does he turn back.
Tyr says, " I'm just a little anxious we have lots to do and the sooner we finish this stupid the quickly we can get the hard stuff." Tyr questions if he would be better off going solo with the know how he can easily become a pro player. Tyr thinks,' That's not why I'm playing this game. I'm playing to save my sister. She is already dead. That happened in your timeline I have already started to change mine.' The inner exchange leaves him a bit drained his memories come and go and some are more vivid than others.
Rena says, " Fine will do it hut anything happens to our powers I swear I will not forgive you. " Tyr scoffs at the threat, making Rena even more furious.
Amalya says," Don't worry boys are just stupid." The girls including Nineth Immortal all agree with Amalya. Still, they follow close behind him. Tyr moves like he has been here before carefully avoiding the mix of monsters by taking a maze of caves. The constant hiding and intense concentration needed to navigate the cavernous route takes a toll on the sisters. With most of the abilities halved they are suffering much more than the average player. Not that Tyr seems to notice. He is moving at a pace they can barely keep up with.
The only reason Nineth Immortal doesn't say anything is that she needs time to absorb and understand her dragon scales. Each of them imparts onto her a skill and essence of a dragon. This is slowly being absorbed by her body making her stronger.
Tyr settles down suddenly inside the cave. He sits resting piercing out into the distance.
Rena says, " Why have we stopped here." The cavernous route isn't the most pleasant place. The chemical smell produces by the vents is but of the many issues she has with this place.
Tyr says, " After here we have to fight another dragon. We should rest up before we do."
Nineth Immortal says, " How can you possibly know I don't sense anything up ahead." She Had not spoken in haste but rather reach out with her senses to check ahead and nothing she could detect suggested there is a dragon.
Tyr says, "Raconi are not omnipresence your sense can be fooled." More puzzled faces are all about in the team. They didn't what he just said.
Nineth Immortal says, " Be as that may you can at least tell us what you saw so that we know what to look out for in future." Tyr is grinding his teeth he turns around looking through the girls.
Tyr says, " Look all around the bones on the floor of creatures that barely got away. The claw marks up in the cave ahead. Just open your eyes and you will see all the signs clear as day."
None of the girls appreciates his time however none of them can find fault with his logic. While not a definite sign of dragon none of them are willing to stick their neck and call him out on it. They are after all in a dragon dungeon.
Rena says, " Fine but if my life is in danger I will retreat from battle." Tyr frowns and nearly spits in Rena direction.
Amalya says, " I think that a little extreme we need all of to fight. Especially if the dragon is even half as strong as the one we just beat."
Tyr says, " It won't be that Leviathan is an anomaly it should exist. Monsters like that are an abomination. Kill all kludges always."
Lucinda says, " What the hell is going on with you. I might have known you for a time but Tyr you aren't this cold."
Tyr rubs his head flooded with memories of the future. They are filled with pain and hurt Tyr says, " People are not always happy I'm allowed to feel how I feel."
Lucinda looks at Nineth Immortal for bits of help since she is the only one who gets through to him.
Nineth Immortal says, " That doesn't give you an excuse to treat us like shit. If this team is going to succeed we need to be able to trust and communicate freely."
Tyr says, " Fine, I understand let's handle this dungeon then we talk about the future."
