Chapter 541: Ghost Empress

Angelica did not even get to move before she was tackled and hugged to the point she felt like she was going to pop. "Godmother, please let go! You're hugging me too tightly!" 

"Ah! Sorry I just haven't seen you in ages and look at you. All grown up looking like a fine young woman." Camlia said with a smile as she released Angelica. 

"Hehe… But why are you here all of a sudden, and who is he?" Angelica asked as her eyes fell onto Tian.

"Actually that is what I would like to know!" Camlia was reminded of what just happened and turned around and glared at Tian. "Who are you, and what was the big idea of kidnapping me all of a sudden!?"

"Ah, yes, I am sorry for that. You see, I do not like to waste time. As I need your assistance to help this young lady here and myself, I did not explain right then and there." Tian gave a slight bow as an apology before looking at Angelica. "Miss Angelica, your father came to request my help in assisting you. I accepted because of my relation to your mother. My name is Tian or as  Miss Angelica might know me as Tian..."

"Tian the Universal Beast of Time. One of the four heavenly beings is said to be able to stand tall even in Eden. To think I would have the chance to meet someone such as yourself, but may I ask. How are you connected to my mother, and why would you be willing to assist me?" Angelica already got the gist of things. She had run into her handsome papa not long ago during an ancient realm exploration, and she told him what that old man had asked her to do. Thinking of this, she couldn't help but smile as she knew her handsome papa was worried about her safety and wanted her to survive no matter what. 

"I was once contracted to your mother in one of her past lives all four of the heavenly beasts were. You could say we are indebted to her for all eternity. As for why I am helping you, it is, of course, to make her stronger. If she can really gain the power of the goddess of life, she will become one of the ultimate existences just below or even equal to the god of creation and the god of destruction. But this is only possible if we can capture and keep the soul of the goddess of life from reincarnating." Tian answered. 

"I see. Then I will accept your help, but why did you bring my godmother here?" Angelica asked. She did not understand why Camlia was here at all.

"I can not fight the goddess of life alone. Her powers are too great. In order to extract her soul, she will need to be on the brink of death. I am afraid I alone do not have the power to bring her to that point. Not when she can easily heal herself. But with Miss Camlia's help, I will be able to. It's just that she herself does not realize her own powers. This has kept her stuck for many years in the mortal realm." Tian could feel a hidden power deep inside Camlia. She was one who had the ability to use magic that others could not. But deep inside her was her true power. The power that was burning hot, waiting for her to unleash it.

Camlia pursed her lips. She knew what Tian was saying was true. She herself could feel a power deep inside her, but she has never been able to unleash it. She did not know how. It seemed to be locked away and sealed off from herself.  She looked at Tian and asked: "Do you know how to unleash the power within me?"

"I do, but it will require you to undergo special training. We will need you to be able to tap into this power before we can face the goddess of life." Tian answered.

"Whatever I need to do, I will do it." Camlia wanted to grow more powerful so she could still stay by Kana's side. That was her plan and why she wanted to venture out on a journey of self-discovery. There was no way she would pass up this chance. 

"That's what I like to hear. But it is not only you who will need to undergo special training but also Miss Angelica." Tian's eyes fell on Angelical. He knew this young girl was still too weak to face what was to come. But he also had an idea. It was he did not know if the old man would allow it. "Old man, I know you are watching. I want you to do something."

A jolly laugh came from the void as an old man appeared in the room. "Hoho? Tian, it has been a while. I must ask, what do you want me to do?" 

"I think it is a bit unreasonable for you to send her out to fight the goddess of life with our proper preparations. I want you to give her a certain title. One that has not been used since the time of Silithie." Tian replied, his expression very serious. 

"Hmmm?" The old man looked at Tian in surprise before looking over at Angelica. After some thought, he sighed and asked: "Little lass , if you were given the choice to become stronger would you be willing to do so even knowing the task ahead may end up shattering your soul?"

"Has there ever been a time when gaining strength did not come with dangers?" Angelica asked as she looked at the old man. "Silithie the first and last Ghost Empress, known as the ruler of souls. Her mental attacks and ability to manipulate souls made her just slightly weaker than the goddess of death herself,. But I heard in order to get this kind of strength she had to enter the realm of the dead and climb to the top of the throne without having her soul destroyed. If this is the danger you speak of, then I will accept it without hesitation."
