Moments earlier…
After telling Liu Na her plan, Kana did not waste any time charging in headfirst. She knew she had to seize this chance while she still could. Using the blind spot of the wine monkey above ground, she quickly ran over and dived into the broken tree trunk. She quickly realized that the entrance was like a muddy slide as she slid down into the wine monkey den.
At the end, she tumbled and rolled to a stop. Because of the sudden entrance, the three wine monkeys in the den all stared at the strange creature who had suddenly barged in on them. It was so sudden that both Kana and the wine monkeys just stared at each other. It was not until Kana stood up, dusted off her scales, smiled, and said: "Yo!" That the wine monkeys finally reacted. But before they knew what was going on, the small white creature jumped at them and shoved a foot into the biggest wine monkey who was at the peak of rank one's face, stole its wine cup, and drank it down before landing back on the ground and showing her butt to them. With a few shakes, Kana stuck out her tongue and pulled her eyelid as she yelled out: "Nah, Nah! You can't touch this!"
A loud roar echoed through the wine monkey den as Kana shook her butt and ran up the muddy slope. The wine monkeys were angered beyond belief! Never did they think the small white creature would anger them so. To demonic beasts showing your butt at another demonic beast and shaking it was a major form of disrespect! Wine monkeys had their pride as well! What's more, was that the little white creature actually dared to kick their leader in the face and drink his wine! As such their minds were only focused on one thing, and that was tearing the little evil doer to pieces!
Kana hopped out of the broken tree trunk, spotted the fourth wine monkey and charged right towards it, jumped up into the air, landed on its head with her hind legs, grabbed the wine cup in its hand, and springboarded off the wine monkey's head and charged towards the tree line all while shouting how many wine monkeys she spotted to give Liu Na the signal to wait for her chance.
One thing Kana did not account for was how potent the wine was! The scales on her cheeks were starting to turn red as she hiccuped and downed the wine that was left in the wine cup she had just stolen. While she felt tipsy, her entire body felt invigorated. She felt like she could run forever…. Although not very straight as she was currently seeing double, and this was no different for the wine monkeys as well, as they had also been drinking a lot before Kana showed up.
As Kana ran, she had to keep going wider around trees as she was afraid she would run into them. But she was actually finding the entire situation extremely amusing. "You damn monkeys'... Hiccup! ...are lucky that I can't use my fire breath or… Hiccup! ...I would burn your toes! Hiccup!"
The wine monkeys had no idea what Kana was talking about, but they could guess that whatever it was, was very rude, so they were angered, even more, causing them to chase after her even more fiercely than before. Some of them tripped and tumbled while others side swiped trees. Only Kana, who was avoiding all the obstacles, was doing fine while the wine monkeys were getting more and more beat up without Kana even needing to touch them.
After almost an hour, the monkey wine was starting to wear off, and Kana was getting more aggravated because even though they were covered in dirt and welts all over their body, the damn wine monkeys were still chasing her! "You damn dirty apes! Just leave me alone already! All I did was steal a cup of wine or two!" ..and Nana stole your entire stock… Kana mumbled the last part so that the wine monkeys would not hear it.
She knew these monkeys were more intelligent and very revengeful, otherwise, they would not have kept chasing after her for so long, even after being beaten up as they were. But because the effects of the monkey wine were wearing off on them as well, they were getting faster and more agile.
Kana frowned when she noticed this. She knew she could not continue this trend, or she would end up in a bad position. With no other choice, Kana began heading towards the inner area of the forest. She hopped by doing so, the stupid monkeys would stop chasing her at some point.
As Kana ran deeper into the forest, Liu Na finally reached the cave where they had stayed before. She started up the arrays and looked out at the treeline with her hands clasped together in front of her chest. She could not hide the worry in her eyes. She hoped that Kana could come back safely.
After almost two more hours of running, the wine monkeys finally stopped chasing Kana and stared at her from a distance. Kana shook her butt at them a few more times before diving into a bush to see if she could wait for them to leave.
Unfortunately, Kana's luck was not good as the wine monkeys paced back and forth at what seemed like a barrier for them. She could only assume that crossing the invisible line of their territory was not good for them. Even after waiting half a day, the wine monkeys sat there and waited. Even when she tried to sneak around them, they were able to sense her smell and followed her no matter which direction she went in. "I guess I have no choice but to venture further in and loop around."
With no other choice, Kana turned and ran further into the forest, away from the wine monkeys. After a while, she transformed back into her humanoid form and climbed a tree where she could get a decent view of where she was. She could barely make out the wine monkeys that were still pacing back and forth. But two only two of the four remained. "I guess I can sneak around from here… Wha!?"
*Boom!* *Roar!*
