Chapter 619: (Side Story)Xmas Special 2021…A Christmas Miracle Part 3

Kana was stripped bare and scrubbed clean, her hair washed, all before she was put into a hot bath. "You are truly a little beauty!" Ceilie said with a smile.

"That she is!" Kiliffia instantly agreed.

"Your name is Kana, right?" Ceilie asked.

"Mm..." Kana's cheeks were bright red. She had not bathed in a long time, and these two girls just washed every nook and cranny of her body, getting rid of all the dirt and grime that had built up over the years. She felt embarrassed, but the two girls did not seem to mind at all. Even after using multiple rags to wash her that ended up covered in filth, not once did they show any disgust. But for Kana, it was still embarrassing.

After a hot bath and being washed up. Kana was dressed up in some old clothes that belonged to Lysaith and Pepelt's deceased daughter. It was just a white one piece dress that was slightly too big for her, but it was better than nothing. Luckily the underwear and socks did fit her.

She was helped downstairs by both Ceilie and Kiliffia. When Lysairth saw her new daughter all cleaned up, her eyes opened wide in surprise. One could say that before Kana was cleaned up she had a certain cuteness to her face, but now, after being cleaned from head to toe, she looked like a princess.

"Pepelt, quick, go get the camera and take hundreds of photos!" Lysairth quickly took out her phone and started snapping pictures and posting them on social media. All her friends were confused by the stream of pictures that were appearing on their friends' pinstagram with a little girl standing there in a white dress.

Yuthia was the first to send a message back asking who it was. "My new daughter! I saved her from the streets earlier today. She was so dirty, but now that she is all cleaned up, she looks like a little princess!"

Seeing her reply, Yuthia fully understood and was very happy for Lysairth. She knew her friend had taken her daughter's death really hard and for her to take in a street rat was something they could see her doing. And to find out such a pretty girl was picked up off the streets, they couldn't help but feel for the small girl.

Soon Lysairth's social media was blowing up with comments on her pictures. Even those who did not know Lysairth were talking about it and posting comments. In just a few hours, Kana became somewhat of an internet sensation as the little girl who went from being a pauper to being a princess.

As today was Christmas day, to see such a heartwarming story filled everyone who read the story and saw the pictures with warmth from the bottom of their hearts. It showed just how much love and care people can have for one another even if they were not related by blood, in a season that was filled with giving and a time when families gathered with loved ones. Such a story hit home and made others realize just what today was about. Thousands of people went out and began donating to the homeless and helping those on the street. Even the small deeds as buying a cheap hot meal may not seem like much in people's eyes but for those who were receiving such a gift on a day like Christmas was a miracle to them.

As the sun set and the lights came on. Kana was sitting at a table filled with food. Her big eyes were much bigger than before as she stared at all the hot dishes. Drool rolled down from both corners of her mouth. But even though it was sitting in front of her, Kana did not dare touch it. She did not wish to be kicked out now that she had found a new home. Her stomach rumbled and echoed through the hall, but she still kept silent, not daring to kick up a fuss.

Everyone who watched the little girl restraining herself with all her might began to tear up. "Kana, as today is a special day, do not hold back, but please. Eat slow. We do not want you to get sick. If the food runs cold, we can always heat it up. So take your time and eat to your heart's desire."

Kana gulped and finally reached out to grab her fork. She stabbed a piece of roasted chicken on her plate and brought it to her mouth. When she first placed it on her tongue, she felt a strong painful sensation that lasted only a second. Tears rolled down her eyes as she slowly chewed the chicken in her mouth, savoring every bit of it. How many years had it been since she tasted something so good? How long had it been since she was able to truly have a home cooked meal? Waves of emotions overwhelmed her as she cried and ate the food in front of her. Although her tears were making it taste salty, she did not care.

No one else started eating. They couldn't. Seeing Kana, who was obviously malnourished, eating with such emotion made them tear up as well. Lysairth knew she would always remember this Christmas. She would remember the day she decided to bring Kana home and give her a new life with a loving and caring family.
