Li Dong didn't stay long. After giving another warning for Kana to be careful, he took Ako with him and disappeared from the trail area. He told Kana to rest up before starting the first trial over again. Kana walked into the hut that was made of bone and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was not as bad as she thought it would be. There was only one room with a chair and table, a bed made of bone, and a small shelf filled with porcelain bottles.. While the bed did not look like the most comfortable thing in the world, Kana did not care as she knew she would not be sleeping. She walked over to the table and put down the robes she was given, and took off her clothes. She saw a pitcher on the table filled with water and a towel next to it. She poured some water on the towel and wiped her body down. While it could not replace a nice hot bath, it was still better than nothing.
After wiping herself clean, she put on the fresh set of robes and felt much better. The robes were even made to form to her body's traits which surprised her. Feeling her mood raised a little, she walked over to the shelf and saw the bottles were divided into two groups, one for cultivation and the others for healing. She took one of the bottles for healing and opened it up. A strong medical scent that calmed her mind wafted out. She looked in the bottle to see it filled to the brim with pills. She took one out and swallowed it.
The pill melted in her mouth and streamed down her throat without her even needing to chew it. The healing properties spread throughout her body, healing the internal wounds she had suffered earlier. She sat down on the floor and began taking spiritual qi into her body. She rotated it around her meridians, helping it spread the medical effects of the pills to each part of her body.
Only when the medical effect was all used up did she stand up and take one of the porcelain bottles for cultivation and walk over to the bed. "I will cultivate for a little while before taking on the next first wave."
Kana knew that once the wave started, unless she called out for Li Dong to stop, she would have to keep fighting until the wave was over. So she wanted to make sure she was in peak condition before beginning. Her resolve to grow stronger had never been so strong before. But now, she truly had a chance to grow stronger than ever before. She hoped to learn the ways of cultivation and merge it all together once she left this world and maybe even figure out a way to apply the things she learned here to the divine energy she gained when she first ascended to the realm of gods.
She wondered how divine energy and spiritual qi differed from spiritual qi. From what she could tell, it all seemed to be the same thing. The only difference was that divine energy from where she was from is locked by the system. While she may be outside the system to a point, she was still forced to level up and complete certain requirements to evolve. This was not much different from cultivation, except cultivation could be done in many different ways, unlike the leveling system she had.
Kana cultivated for two days before finally stopping. She seemed to be able to enter a trance like state that most cultivators could only wish to enter when cultivating. She felt at peace and at one with her surroundings. When she opened her eye, she smiled and felt much more refreshed. "Those pills are not bad."
Kana had taken a few cultivation pills during the past few days, and she could feel she was almost on the verge of breaking through again. She hoped this time she would be able to reach the qi gathering realm.
Kana stood up and adjusted her robes, and walked out of the hut. As she did, a voice entered her head. "Are you ready?"
"Mmm.." Kana answered as she drew her sword.
"Then I will begin the first wave. You can not rest until all enemies are killed. If you can not handle it, then let me know right away. From here on out, your life is in your own hands. So you must tell me if you can not continue." After saying this, Li Dong paused before continuing: "The first wave will begin now. Peak qi gathering realmed skeletons will begin to spawn soon. Get ready!"
Kana nodded and walked forward with her sword in her hand. As she watched the skeletons beginning to climb out from underground, Kana closed her eyes. "Anything that blocks my path shall die." This was her new outlook on things. While she would not kill the innocent, those who blocked her from achieving her goals of standing at the top of this world so she could return to her loved ones would die by her hands. While she knew not to be stupid, she would not back down if others wished to get in her way. After facing that monstrous hand that could have squashed her like a bug, she now had a new outlook on life and her future.
Kana's sword did not stop as she cut down skeleton after skeleton. She found she had to smash their heads to truly kill them. If they were cut at the waist, they would crawl towards her, trying to bite her ankles or cut her legs off. Kana's movements were sloppy at the start, and she was having a hard time dodging all the attacks coming towards her, and blood flowed from her wounds. She continued to use her sword, only refining her skills, uncaring about the damage she was receiving. Her new robes were already dyed red, but she did not care.. She only cared about what was in front of her, and that was thousands of skeletons, which there were fewer of compared to last time.
