Chapter 688 - Trouble In The Skies Part 3

While the monk and archer girl were creating their hole like Kana's, Kana and Fan Sengya were busy mocking the wind falcon. "Bleh! Stupid ugly oversized chicken, you can't get me!"

"KYeaak!" The furious wind falcon yelled out in anger as it began to flap its wings, sending deadly blades of wind at Kana and the young man next to her.

"Beautiful Miss!" Fan Sengya went to jump in front of Kana only to be tossed to the side.

Kana knew this idiot did not think before doing something, so she had no choice but to take the brunt of the attack. She had no idea if it would work or not, but she unsheathed her sword and swung down, chopping at the blades of wind as they reached her.

But surprisingly, when she swung down how she normally would, as usual, a blade of sword qi shot out. Kana was shocked because she thought that her spiritual qi was sealed off. It was only then that she remembered what Tina said about sword qi. It was not a form of spiritual qi but its own fundamental form of laws. This was why sword cultivators rarely learned any attacks dealing with spiritual qi. They would only cultivate spiritual qi to raise their cultivation realm and then cultivate their sword. They had no need for techniques or the like that normal cultivators had. But they were still not to be underestimated as they were very formidable.

"You! You are already at this level of sword cultivation!?" Fan Sengya was very surprised to see Kana sending out a blade of sword qi. He wondered how much of a genius she must be to even be able to achieve such a height in the sword at such a young age.

"Would you shut up!" Kana had no time to deal with this stupid young man's questions as she continued to slash out with her sword trying to block each blade of wind with her sword qi. It was the only thing keeping them alive at this time.

Not far away, the monk and archer girl climbed into the hole they made: "I can now help them, right? That wind falcon is going crazy with its wind blade attack."

"It should be fine now. We will not die so easily if we are in this place. I will keep digging backwards to give us more room. Begin attacking the wind falcon benefactor." The monk replied before he turned around and began punching the back wall some more slowly breaking away the rock.

The archer girl nodded and stood at the very edge of the hole and took aim with her bow. She pulled back on the bowstring with the arrow in hand and aimed carefully, taking into consideration of the wind before letting go.

*Twang!*

The arrow flew from the bow, flying through the air at an amazing speed. It cut right through the damp clouds and slammed into the side of the wind falcon. Sadly only the tip penetrated a tiny bit before the arrow fell out towards the ground below. "Tch! So tough!"

The archer girl had no other choice but to keep firing arrows. She was happy she had at least a hundred on hand. She took aim once more, firing another arrow. It flew through the air slammed once more into the wind falcon in the same exact spot her last arrow hit. This time the arrow sunk it a bit deeper, and a loud screech came from the wind falcon.

"KYeaak!" The wind falcon flapped its wings and backed away from the cliff wall. It looked down at the small arrow sticking out of its huge body and reached down with its beak, and pulled it out. "KYeaak!" The wind falcon yelled out once more. It went to look to see what puny thing attacked it, but just as it turned its head, a blade of sword qi came flying at its head.  "KYeaak!"

The wind falcon quickly dodged to the side. Although it did not have much intelligence and even though it had a tough hide, even the wind falcon, a third rank demonic beast, was scared of that attack just now. But before it could turn to attack Kana's hole once more, another arrow came out of nowhere and stabbed it in the same spot once again!

Inside her hole, Kana saw the small arrow stab into the wind falcon and pursed her lips. "Hey stupid, there seems to be someone else trying to help us."

"What!? Are they dumb? Do they want to die!?" Fan Sengya wanted to crawl to the edge of the hole but was stopped by Kana once more.

"What are you doing? You stick your head out now that damn chicken out there will bite your head off! It seems more like you are the one asking to die and not them! Right now, with them firing arrows and me hitting it with sword qi, the damn bird can not attack anymore and can only stay in a single place. It's like a ping pong effect." Kana yelled out.

"Ping pong? What is that!?" Kana glared at Fan Sengya. She did not understand why this idiot was more concerned as to what a ping pong was than the actual situation they were in.

"Just shut up and try to make yourself useful. Try yelling down to the archer and tell them to keep firing if they can."

While Kana was yelling at Fan Sengya, the monk had already dug a deep space out of the cliff in case they needed to use it. "Benefactor, how is it?"

"Every time I fire an arrow and get the wind falcons attention, they fire out what looks like sword qi at it causing the stupid bird to keep going back and forth." The archer girl replied.

"Hmmm… Wait… Do you hear that?" The monk asked as she turned her ear to the entrance of the hole.

"No, I…. I do! They are calling out to us!"
