Chapter 110: Academy Test Part Two

"Eh… I am not sure I want to go up there." Kiliffia's face paled after seeing the horse man smashed into the wall with one hit. She began fidgeting with her fingers as cold sweat formed on her brow.

"Kiliffia, you will be fine. I think the instructor did that in order to teach him a lesson. He was too full of himself." Kana reached up and scratched behind Kiliffia's ears, causing her to settle down a bit. She, of course, did not stop fluffing her fluff fluff.

And true to Kana's words, the instructor did not do the same thing a second time. He let the hopefuls begin the attack first. He blocked and dodged and sent a few strikes out that the hopefuls would be able to dodge. Even though they were slow, weak strikes, some were not even able to dodge or block them. There were even a few hopefuls who would swing their sword around randomly with their eyes closed, striking at air while the instructor stood there staring at them in disbelief. When this happened, he would knock them on the head with his sword drilling them into the ground before yelling at them to leave.

Soon it was finally Kiliffia's turn. She stood up, her hands shaking. Kana shook her head and pulled Kiliffia's hand. "Believe in yourself. I know you can pass."

Just these few words were enough to give Kiliffia plenty of resolve to walk down and jump into the arena. She had a look of determination in her eyes. She had trained this past month as hard as she could. She even had her father spar with her every day. She would not let the chance to be like her goddess slip by!

The instructor looked at the young fox girl in front of him and smiled. He nodded his head in approval. "Are you ready?"

Kiliffia nodded her head and got into her stance. The instructor was already impressed with her stance alone. It left no openings whatsoever. "Good! Come! Show me what you got!"

The instructor was excited to see what the little girl could do. But before he knew what was going on, Kiliffia had disappeared from where she stood! The thing about Kiliffia was that her [Agility] was absurdly high for her level and age! It was a genetic mutation due to her mother and father being of two different species altogether! Her [Agility] was actually at 60! The instructor was startled by the sudden burst of speed but quickly composed himself as his eyes lit up with excitement. He never thought he would meet such a gem!

*Clang!*

Kiliffia's sword and the instructor's sword clashed, causing sparks to fly everywhere. Kiliffia spun her body around to go for another attack, but even this strike was blocked. She started to become flustered as she continued to press her attack. She was putting to use everything she had learned these past few weeks. "[Fox Art: Trickster!]"

This was a special trait of fox beastkin. They were able to use a special ability called [Fox Art]. It was a set of skills that all required the user to say the name of the ability then the name of the skill. [Trickster] transformed the fox into a leaf and created many more identical leaves that get sucked up into the air mixing all together before flying at their target. It was a skill that was very annoying because you really could not tell which of the leaves were the original.

The instructor frowned upon hearing these words and quickly put up a strong defensive stance. He already knew he was going to have trouble with this attack since it would not cancel until the user cancels it or you find the original.

*Clang!* *Clang!* *Clang!* *Clang!*

Kiliffia was really putting her all into the fight. The hopefuls in the stands were all watching the fight while hanging on to the edge of their seats. There was no longer any chatter at all. No one wished to miss the outcome!

Now, it must be said that if this was a normal fox who had normal [Agility] for their level, they would not have lasted this long at all even with using the [Fox Art]. The fight continued for almost ten minutes until finally…

*Bang!*

A figure went flying towards the wall, and a male voice could be heard yelling: "Shit!"

The instructor rushed forward. He had used way too much strength just now because he got too excited and sent Kiliffia flying. Luckily before Kiliffia got close to the wall, a figure appeared in front of her catching her. Standing in the arena, Kana held Kiliffia in her arms, looking at her, worry written all over her face. But when she saw that she was fine, she let out a sigh of relief.

"Ah… Thank you! I didn't mean to attack with so much strength. Her attacks were so good I forgot she was here to take the entrance test." The instructor bowed his head in apology. He was truly sorry. He hoped this would not set the little girl back.

"It's fine. She's not hurt from what I can tell." Kana replied. The on site doctors quickly came over and took Kiliffia away on a stretcher to do a full diagnostic.

"Since I am already down here, why don't I go next?" Kana asked with a sweet smile on her face. Now, this would normally make others smile, but at this time, her eyes were not smiling at all, making those who looked at her shiver and also feel bad for the person she was smiling at.

"Haha! Why would the hero of Rural need to do this little test? I will just pa…." The instructor tried to pass Kana right then and there but was interrupted when Kana raised her hand, cutting him off.

"From what I know, special treatment is not allowed, so we will follow the rules to the last letter. Go quickly into position." Kana's smile became even more profound. The instructor's face paled. He couldn't say he did not want to fight her! He would be fired!

Up in the stands, the bear man looked at Kana and chuckled. He then turned to the squirrel man standing next to him and said: "Go get another instructor over here quickly. We will need to replace this one soon."
