In another dimension, in a white room made of jade, an old man with a long white beard that flowed down to his feet, wearing a white robe, sat cross legged in front of a pool of water. Reflected within it was a young dragon girl. "Hoho! It seems the keeper of this level came to like this little lady. He even gave her the information that only those who are liked will get. How many years has it been since I have been so entertained?"
"Master, it is time..." A young lady walked into the room announced as she bowed her head.
"Tsk… That time already…. Fine! Fine! Let's see if those old bastards have trained some good disciples!" The old man roared as he got up. He waved his hand, causing the image of kana in the water to disappear.
"Master, are you playing with that thing you made?" The young lady asked.
"It's just a bit of fun. I got nothing better to do, and it is entertaining to see what they will all do next. But recently I found an even more interesting young lady. I will like to see how she grows and if she will ever make it here."
"If she does, then that means I will have a new junior sister." The young lady said with a smile.
"If she ever makes it to this point, then she will be far ahead of that one race who failed. Enough of this, let's go. You better not lose to the disciples of those shitty old men!" The old man said as he stroked his beard.
"I will be sure to bring you victory with my fellow disciples."

Kana and Bridan walked back to the inn in silence. The entire time Bridan had wanted to say sorry for not doing his job and protecting her correctly, but no matter how many times he tried to put his thoughts into words, he was just not able to do so. Kana paused in front of the inn's entrance and looked at Bridan. "Cia has been worried this entire time, so make sure you comfort her well."
"I will. And sorry..." Bridan finally said. He truly felt bad for putting Kana in danger.
"There is no need to feel sorry. You know my strength I was not harmed in the slightest." Kana replied as she opened the door and shouted out: "Cia! Bridan is back!"
"He is!?" Cai came out of the kitchen with a knife in her hand that was covered in blood. Her apron was also cover in splashes of blood. She looked around, and when her eyes fell on the strong sturdy guard who had walked into the room, her eyes began to water up. She quickly put her knife down and took off her apron as she ran over to Bridan, checking him all over. "Thank the gods, you are okay! I thought you were dead!"
Bridan smiled softly at the woman who was now hugging him tightly, sobbing. He wrapped his arms around her and gently stroked her back. "I was saved before they could finish the job. I am sorry I couldn't come back to notify you the King asked me to hide until things were settled."
"As long as you are okay, that is all that matters." Cia said as she looked up at her lover and smiled. "Right! We need to have a feast tonight! Dear, you are invited as well. I will make lots of food and celebrate Bridan's return."
"Then I will be there. Just let me know when things are ready. I will be going to my room to rest." Kana said as she quickly made herself scares. She knew the couple needed some time alone.
"Come, I will help you in the kitchen." Bridan held Cia's hand and led her to the kitchen. He was glad he did not die.
Kana entered her room, and both Aoi and Naru came out of hiding. "Kana, is what that king guy said trustworthy?"
"We have no choice but to trust it. I originally planned to do just as he had said, So my first thought was the correct choice. I just hope reaching my goal will not take too long. I am already starting to lose track of time altogether..." Kana laid down onto her bed on her back and looked up at the ceiling. Aoi and Naru floated up above her.
"This seems to be the only way…. I am just surprised that the old man was able to tell what you wanted." Naru had wanted to jump out and push the old man away when he came close to Kana. If it was not for Aoi holding him back he would have gone out and put a curse on the old man.
"It doesn't matter it just makes things easier for us. We only need to wait a few more days before the knight's test. During this time we will just rest here. I do not want to get involved in any more things. Oh, right I got a bunch of money as well..." Kana pulled the pouch at her side off and opened it up. "At least a few hundred gold pieces in her. The king sure is generous. I wonder if this gold can be used back home..." Kana pondered this for a while before putting the pouch into her inventory.
The next few days went by quickly. Besides the small get together for Bridan's safe return her days were quiet. Other than sitting in her room and resting, she had also spent time talking to Lea and Lin. The day of the Knight's exam had finally come. Kana woke up extra early to warm her body up in order to prepare herself for the tests at hand. "Let's hope my skills are enough… I would hate to fail and lose my chance to even begin gaining prestige."
Kana opened the door to her room and walked out. Although she was slightly worried she hoped all her training during her time in this dungeon was not for nothing.
