Kana's face turned black as she instantly rejected the young girl. "Absolutely not." And walked away as quickly as possible.
"You!" The young girl had not expected Kana to reject her so outright. "No, this can't be right… She has to love me… Only I am right for her… The way she moved. The way she killed. All of it sent tingles of ecstasy down my spine and throughout my entire body. That's right, she will love me. Only me! Heh, heh, heh…." The girl's eyes went from being a shy normal girl to that of someone who had lost their mind. She began biting the tip of her finger until it began to bleed. "She can only love me…."
Kana felt a chill run down her spine as she quickly looked around. Little did she know she had somehow triggered a yandere flag. After getting clean up, Kana went to a food stall just outside the testing grounds. The entire time a small figure was following behind, making sure to stay a distance away. "Kana, you are being followed by that weird girl." Aoi's little voice chimed in Kana's ear.
"I know. Just ignore her. Since she wishes to follow me, let her. If she wishes to attack me, I will kill her. It is that simple." Kana replied as she sat down at one of the small tables set up around the food stall: "Owner, 30 Meat on a stick, please!"
"Coming right up!" The stall owner yelled back. This was set up once a year just for the knight's tests. For shop owners to get a chance to set up a stall right outside the testing grounds, one must be lucky to win the lottery and also sign a lot of non-disclosure forms. This old man was the lucky one this year.
He quickly cooked up thirty meat on a stick and handed it to Kana. Kana glowed when she saw the large chunks of meat on the sticks. "Thanks, Mister!"
Off in the distance, hidden behind a tree, the small figure fingers dripped in blood from being bitten too hard. "That dirty old man is not allowed to see her smile. Her smile is only for me!" The small figure's eyes were full of crazed killing intent. She touched the dagger on her waist and slowly pulled it from its sheath. She waited patiently as Kana finished her food and left. Only then did the small figure move. She ran at full speed towards the old man, and before he could even react, he was dead. A stream of blood sprayed in the air as his neck was sliced open. The small figure quickly ran off in the same directions that Kana had gone in.
"The crazy girl is back." Naru announced.
"Ignore her." Kana walked around for a little bit before heading back towards the testing grounds. When she walked past the stall, she saw a bunch of guards standing there blocking off the place. Kana frowned as she walked over and asked: "What happened?"
"The old man was killed. We are investigating who the killer was." The guard replied.
Wrinkling her nose, her eyes turned towards a tree off in the distance. She said goodbye to the guards before heading towards that tree. Seeing Kana coming her way, the small figure became anxious as a bright smile formed on her face. But instead of Kana smiling back at her, Kana's face nothing but anger. "Why did you kill him?"
"He took your smile from me." The small figure replied.
Kana felt goosebumps forming on her body as she grabbed the small figure by their head. It was the same girl from earlier. Kana's hand gripped her head and squeezed it hard, causing the girl to cry out in pain. "Look, I am not your property, nor do I have any relationship with you. You are nothing more than an opponent that I will need to fight later. I do not care who you kill. But do not use me as an excuse on why you killed someone since we are not close in the slightest."
After saying this, she tossed the girl to the ground, turned, and left, walking back into the testing area. The girl stared at Kana's retreating back, biting her lip until she drew blood. "If I can't have you, then no one can. Yes... If I kill her, then kill myself….. Hahahaha! We can be together for all eternity if we die together!"
Kana walked back into the testing area and found a spot to sit. The girl from before arrived soon after. She did not go over to Kana. Instead, she walked over to a spot nearby before sitting down. But even if she did not get close to Kana, her eyes were still glued to her. Not long after, the rest of the remaining ten arrived. Behind them by only a few minutes was the knight from earlier. Along with him were two more guards carrying a table with a box on it. "Okay! We have rested up. Not I want you to line up and pick a number from this box. Once you have picked and the battles have been decided, I will explain the rules."
The knight finished speak and waved his hand, signaling for everyone to come to pick a number. Kana was last to go up. The girl from earlier standing in front of her. When it was her turn, she reached into the box and pulled out the last slip of paper. The knight nodded his head, and another group of people came in with a large board that used magic that displayed a battle chart for the upcoming battles. Numbered one through ten, the numbers at the bottom were mixed. And grouped in twos. "We will start from left to right. Now I must warn you that once you step inside the cage you are locked in the cage. Your life is your own until one of you is killed. Only when five are left standing will we begin the semi finals."
Kana looked at her slip of paper that read six and looked at the board. She was third up. She had no idea who her opponent was and it did not matter. She planned to kill whoever got in her way of reaching her goal. "Ummm..."
A small voice once again reached Kana's ears causing her to frown once again. She turned her expression not masking her dislike and annoyance at all: "What!?"
"Hehe… Don't be angry I will make sure to get to the finals and then we can both be together forever!" The girl said with a bright smile as she quickly hugged Kana before running off towards the cage. She seemed to have been up first.
