"I guess, for now, I should find a safe place to land and get an idea of what kind of place I am in." Kana was in no rush to find the source of the element she was here for. She wanted to take a look around this world first to see what kind of place it was.
She looked around her to see nothing but an open plane. Within this open plane were many different color plants. She was not sure if they were flowers or not from where she was. She did not dare fly too low at this time to check since the monsters below her looked as if they could swallow her in a single gulp. What she did spot was a protrusion in the ground that stuck out of the grassy looking field. The area around it was completely devoid of monsters, as if they were purposely avoiding it. "I guess that place is better than nothing. Even though it looks like it might be the resting ground for an even stronger looking monster."
Kana floated down and landed softly on the grassy surface. She looked around and saw that nothing really seemed to be out of the ordinary. There were many strange colorful flowers growing here as well. Kana knelt down and looked at them but did not touch them. "Very pretty."
"Thank you!" A voice came from hind her causing Kana to almost jump out of her skin.
She turned around quickly to see a small figure floating in the air. It was a female. She looked a little like Aoi did when she was small and cute but different. She did not feel like an elemental. the biggest trait about her was her green leafy dress and the flower sticking out of her head. "You are?"
"Hehe… Did I scare you? Sorry. It is just strange to see visitors of another world come to this place. Normally they avoid it as if their life depends on it. But my name is Tri'an. I am of the spirit Race." Tri'an replied. '
"Spirit race?" Kana was a bit confused. "Sorry if I sound rude, but what is the difference between the spirit race and an elemental?"
"Mmm.. spirits are different because we are born from anything, not just a specific element. You could consider us as cousins to elementals but just a different family line. But you are quite strange, are you not scared of me?" Tri'an asked. It was her turn to be confused.
"Hmm? Why would I be scared? Aoi, Naru." Aoi and Naru appeared next to her. "This here is Ai and Naru, my family members. You could say they are like my little sister and brother."
"I see... A second stage elemental and a…. Oh my!" Tri'an quickly knelt in the air and lowered her head. "To think I would get to meet the elemental empress in my lifetime."
"Empress? I thought it was queen?" Kana looked at Aoi, a little confused.
"It is all the same. Empress and queen, they are both rulers who stand above all." Aoi answered.
"Not at all, Your Majesty! There are many elemental queens. But only the empress can wield all the elements. You are far above those of the queen class. Even we sprites have this kind of hierarchy. Only the spirit empress can stand above us all as she was born from everything. She is the holiest figure in our world." Tri'an explained.
"I see. Well, I do not care too much for titles. I only care about spending time with the people I love. Things like being a ruler of elements mean nothing to me. It is just something for me to be stronger so I can help out Kana more." Aoi said as she shrugged her shoulders." So please just call me Aoi. I do not like to be called anything else."
"As you wish. Miss Aoi." Tri'an still used a polite way to refer to Aoi. Aoi's nose wrinkled, but she didn't tell her to stop.
"So you say a spirit is made up of everything, so does that mean there is a spirit of the flowers and grass?" Kana asked. She was very curious about the differences between sprites and elementals.
"Yes. I am the spirit of flowers" Tri'an paused and pointed at her head before continuing. "That was why I appeared here when you complimented my flowers here. I have spent many thousands of years cultivating this one spot with the finest of flowers. That is why none of the behemoths will come close to this place."
"Those are called behemoths? Fitting names for such large monsters. They look very strong." Kana commented. She was starting to wonder just how strong they were.
"I do not think it would be wise to fight with them. They are called behemoths, not because of their size but because they are able to fight beings from the upper realms with ease. They have some of the strongest armor in the universe. I have watched many come and try to fight one of them, but they end up either dead or barely alive and missing limbs." Tri'an didn't want Kana to risk it. This was why she was trying to give her such a firm warning.
"I think I have a chance because I do not need to pierce their hide to kill them. " Kana said with a smile. It was true. With withering, she could just suck the energy right out of the behemoth and kill it in a matter of seconds.
"It's true. If Kana wanted to, she could easily kill one of those behemoths." Naru spoke up in Kana's defense.
"This… I …." Tri'an had no idea where their confidence was coming from! Ut she still wanted her new friends to stay clear. "You really shouldn't try though. there is always chance..."
Aoi sighed since no one seemed to want to explain and pointed at Kana: "Goddess of death. Can kill things without touching them. She just needs to stand there and let her power out of her body."
"Ahhh!" Tri'an eyes showed a hint of fear. She had been talking so casually to the goddess of death! She was just asking to die!
