Hearing these people's words angered Kana beyond belief. She no longer cared to hide as she stepped out. Her hair fluttered under the power that was surging from her body. "Who!?"
"You people dared to touch my friends and family? As of today, you will all die!" Kana showed no mercy. She could tell these men were not strong. They were using tricks to capture the people they were experimenting on. Kana released her withering, catching the men off guard.
"Damn it! It's the goddess of death!" One of the men yelled as he turned to run. But with a wave of her hand, Kana sent out a wave of flames surrounding the area and shutting off any chance for escape for these men.
"Wait! Goddess of death! We can make a deal! If you let us go, we can give you all the research we have on the ultimate power!" Another man tried to bargain with Kana. Kana didn't even look at him when she snapped her fingers, causing the man to suddenly be engulfed in flames.
"Your words are all useless. Do you think I need some fake power? Do I look like weaklings like you all? All of you are nothing more than scum. You will all die here. I will send you all to the river of reincarnation. I hope you will become proper beings in your next life." Kana wasted no more words even under the exhausted pleas her withering took all of their power and transferred it to her. Once everyone was dead, Kana waved her hand, canceling her flames, and looked around the room. She spotted a single door off to the side and decided to go check it out.
The three girls had made their way to the wooden door. Angelica first put her ear to the door to see if she could hear anything on the other side. In a low voice, she whispered: "There are sounds of someone walking around."
There were indeed shuffling sounds coming from inside. Angelica stood back up and looked at her sisters. "What should we do?"
"This is where I come in. Rain, you follow behind me, and Angelica, you cast magic from the back. If whatever is in there attacks, do not hold back. Kill it with everything you have." Yana said as she stepped forward. Rain and Angelica quickly got into position and readied themselves.
Yana turned the knob and opened the door, and immediately turned and pushed everyone to the floor. "You bastards! Look what you did to me! How can I show myself to my daughter like this!? I won't leave until you change me back!"
Yana turned her head to see what seemed to be a tree with a human face standing in the middle of the room. The whole room was destroyed. Yana was unsure what to do in his situation since she felt no hostility directed towards her or her sisters. Angelica, on the other hand, had a bit more understanding of what this man might be talking about. She climbed out from underneath Yana, keeping her guard up as she did, and asked: "Sir, are you by chance Miss Kiliffia's father?"
The walking tree with a human face paused. He turned towards the young girl's voice with wide eyes. "Girl, you know my daughter!? Wait! Why are you young girls here!? Hurry up and leave this place before they capture you! Quickly go! Do not stop until you are out of the swamp!"
"Sir, we can't leave. We are here to rescue our mother's friend Kiliffia who disappeared a few years back. My mother and father are also here. Do you happen to remember a girl named Kana?" Angelica asked.
"Kana… The little dragon girl who became friends with my daughter, yes, I know her. She is my daughter's savior." The human tree could be confirmed to be Fretchet Kiliffia's father with these words.
"My mother's name is Kana. The same Kana who saved your daughter years ago. Your daughter has been looking for you for many, many years. She never once stopped looking for you after the great war. My mother has told me much about you. She said you were a loving and caring father who loved his daughter very much. It is a pleasure to meet you, Sir Fretchet." Angelica always had a thirst for knowledge and wanted to hear about her mother's adventures from when she was younger. She was able to remember every word she heard, so she was sure that this man was Kiliffia's father even if he looked this way.
"You… You said my daughter is here!? No! This can't be those bastards! If they did anything to my daughter, I will make them live a life worse than hell!" Fretchet yelled at the top of his lungs. Anything could happen to him, he did not care, but if his daughter were to get hurt, he would never stop until those who harmed her paid. He would then join his daughter in the afterlife to watch over her.
"Don't worry, Sir Fretchet, my mother will never let scum go. Trust in her, she will find your daughter." Angelica tried to soothe the man's anger. She did not want him accidentally lashing out at her or her sisters.
"Mm… I know if it is her she will be able to do it. Come we will go to the main entrance and wait for them there. I would rather look like this in front of my daughter than not see her at all. " Fretchet made his decision. It was a decision he wished he had made long ago. If he had just gone home like this then maybe his daughter would not need to suffer under these bastards' hands.
"Mmm, let's return." Angelica said with a smile. Although they did not get to have the grand battle they wanted, they were still able to meet up with Kiliffia's missing father. This made it all worth it.
