Chapter 515: [Bonus Chapter]Remnant Part 1

Kana made her way down what seemed like an endless hallway. Although she had the light of the flame in her hand, it did reflect very far. She had lost all notion of directions and did not know if she was going straight, up, or down. But to her, the time she had traveled so far seemed like an entire day. She even stopped to sit and rest quite a few times. Since she could not feel anything dangerous within the area she was in, she closed her eyes to rest, catching herself falling asleep every so often.

"It's times like these that I wish I had some little friends who always followed me around," Kana said while pursing her lips. She was quite bored, and besides the pitch black around her, she could only hear the sound of her feet as the pitter pattered across the smooth black floors.

Aruya, who was being held in Eden, wanted nothing more than to break out the other elementals and rush to Kana's side, but the damn old man's power was just too strong. Unless Kana called out their name, they would not be allowed to return to her side. So it was heartbreaking to know how Kana was feeling as they watched her struggling all alone.

Kana kept going forward one step at a time. Sometimes she would strip down and wash herself for a change of pace, while other times, she would make multiple flames change shapes into different animals and have them put on a play for some entertainment. As for the skull she had on her side, well, that was long gone. No matter how much she didn't want to she couldn't stop her stomach from growling.

Finally, after what seemed like two days, the space she was in finally lit up as the exit to the hallway appeared before her. Not wanting to waste any time, she rushed forward and ran through the opening to find herself in some kind of facility that looked way too advanced for the world she was on. "This..."

Before, he was a metal ship. It looked brand new without a scratch on it. There were many wires connecting to it. Kana walked up to it and knocked on the metal legs that supported the ship. "Hmmm? By the looks of this place, it has been a long time since anyone has been here, but why is this place the source of death?"

This actually confused Kana. She also did not know why she recognized this thing as a ship either. When she saw it, the word ship came to mind. "Old vampire man, although I ate your skull, I hope you can see this place through my belly..."

Kana looked around and saw a bunch of large crates, and walked over to them. She opened one to find a gold mine! It was food! And lots of it! At least this is what she thought anyways. She opened up one of the brown packages and smelt the most fabulous smell in the entire world. The smell of meat! She took out what seemed to be dried meat and sniffed it. It still smelled fine. With hunger taking over caution, Kana took a bite and almost cried in pain with how much her taste buds were jumping for joy. The sweet, savory taste of meat filling her mouth was just what the doctor ordered.

From there, Kana lost a bit of control, and half the packages of meat in the crate ended up in her now plump belly. She thought back to yesterday as she munched on the old bones and frowned… "If I knew this was here, I would have held out..."

After filling her stomach, sleep over took Kana's vigilance, and she slept for who knows how long. In her dreams, she dreamt of a handsome man who held her gently in his arms, caring for her in every which way possible. Tears rolled down her cheek as she saw the handsome man. She had this feeling of longing as if this handsome man was someone very special to her. But as she woke up and wiped her eyes, she sat there trying to remember her dream, but it was all foggy…

"I need to figure out what the cause of the energy that is killing everything around here and then find my way out of this place." Kana made sure to grab a few more packages of meat before looking around more. The room she was in did not have any other visible doors besides the one she entered, but as she searched the room from top to button, she finally found a hatch that was covered by a metal box.

She opened it to find a ladder leading down. She looked down to see that this ladder led to another dive into darkness. But she did see a small dim light at the bottom of there ever it led to. Not wanting to waste any time, she began her descent down the ladder. She was very careful as she climbed down. She noticed that after climbing down a few meters that there were no walls around her at all, just the ladder in front of her. She had to be careful not to slip or fall, or she would not have anything to grab on to.

Her descent downwards was much quicker than she had expected. Once she reached the opening at the bottom, she could see a metal floor just below her. She also felt whatever energy was causing the strange anomalies above ground was coming from this new area. She landed in a new hallway that led to a single door.

When she opened this door, she found a room with a large round glass ball with a strange grey substance inside of it. The grey substance swirled around the glass ball as if it were alive. It even seemed to have sensed Kana as it gathered on the side of the glass ball closest to her. "What is this?"
