12 The plot thickens 2

It was morning in the Ye mansion. All seemed peaceful as everyone had already risen to meet in the hall and pay respects to the matriarch.

On the left side were the girls, Ye Yu Chen, Ye Feng Tain, and Ye Chen Xue and her step mother, Ye Chen Fu. Then on right side were her father, and Ye Zhen. This type of meeting was rare in ancient households and usually were for announcements and news that the matriarch and head of the house would announce.

Her father started by announcing news.

"As you kids all know, our family had someone from the inside leek out the information on where our weapons were stored. And thenleading our enemy to steal them right from our noses! After some investigation we have concluded that the most suspicious person would be servant Han, and this after some interrogation, he has admitted that he was the one who leaked the information. Now, our family can rest assured that our army will be safe and the betrayer has been exiled." When Ye Shen Fei was talking he was mainly focused on the matriarch (Ye Feng Tian's Grandfather) and Ye Zhen.

This raised some brows from Ye Feng Tian. She didn't really know much on the situation at the border, but her gut was telling her that things weren't as simple as her father made it out to be, but she didn't bother with it. After all, woman in the ancient Chinese era weren't qualified to speak of political and military based things.

And this military and army business had nothing to do with her...she was a new person now, no one would force her to join the army like before...no one would ever betray her as long as she kept her distance... she was free now, so why did she feel empty? Like something in her wasn't right? Was it because she doesn't have any memories from this life, or something else...

As FengTian was lost in her thoughts, the matriarch has already started announcing some 'trivial' matters. Finally, he started talking in a more serious tone.

"Well, now our oldest daughter, Yu Chen is already fourteen and our youngest is already 13, so by the law, the daughters of the Ye family have to start attending school for young ladies. For Feng Tian this will be your first year, and for Yu Chen, you should be graduating soon. Anyways, don't embarrass the Ye family and do well, I'm expecting good results in rankings at the end of the year." With that the matriarch stood up with the support of his servant and left the room.

As everyone exited the room, Ye Feng Tian also slowly started walking out. She was a bit conflicted inside. She had just obtained her freedom in this life, yet now she had to go to school again? What was this? In her past life she had skipped most of high school and never went to university for the sole purpose of supporting those white eyed wolfs and snakes that she called family. Now that she finally was free from the shackles of the army, she found herself tied down again by school?

Sigh...at least school shouldn't be too bad? Right it would be easier since they wouldn't have subjects like history and Military strategy in schools for woman.

Ye Feng Tian was going to walk towards her room when she heard rushed footsteps from the other side coming towards her room.

Her room had a back door that she had purposely 'forgotten' about. She was too busy and lazy to care to lock it anyways.

What Ye Feng Tian found interesting, however, was that someone was using that exact back door entrance to enter her room. And they seemed to carry something too?

'Huh...more trouble makers. ' FengTian thought as she disappeared from her spot.
