Chapter 31: Earths

Cisco and the others opened their mouths as if to say something but didn’t know where to start. In the end, they could only look towards Barry.

Barry noticed their gazes and shrugged as he laughed.

“Hey, he’s not wrong. Just earlier, me and the others from the Justice League saw Batman laugh.”

“Seriously!?”

Cisco looked like he was having a breakdown.

“How!?”

“Secret. Anyway, do you need my help, Barry?”

“Nah, we can handle this. If you helped...it would be like sending a nuclear missile to kill a...well, a turtle.”

Lucas chuckled and shook his head.

“Alright. Actually, I’m here cause I needed your help on something.”

“Shoot.”

“I need to look for Wally. Any idea where he may have been? I tried using the Batcomputer but he didn’t turn up.”

Barry was about to answer when Cisco cut in once again.

“Hold on a sec...Batcomputer!? You can use the Batcomputer!?”

“Yeah?”

“Damn! Who the hell are you!?”

Lucas smiled mysteriously and didn’t answer.

Barry also shook his head helplessly then turned to Lucas.

“He must’ve been on Earth-2 then. His girlfriend Jesse is there. Here, you can use this interdimensional extrapolator to go there.”

“Sweet.”

Lucas took the device and examined it closely.

Barry raised a brow and asked.

“You’re not surprised there’s another Earth?”

“What? Oh, you mean about the multiverse? Well, I have an open mind. Thanks for the interdimensional extrap-...you know what, it’s a long name. I’ll just call it World Key...actually, no, it doesn’t sound right...”

World Key...Huh, sounds familiar to something…

Lucas shook his head and was ready to leave.

Suddenly, Caitlin called out.

“Oh, mind if I tag along?”

“Sure, what’s up?”

“I need to uhh, talk to Harry about something.”

“Harry?”

Lucas pondered for a bit and remembered about Harrison Wells from the TV show as well.

“Yeah. Harry is what we call the Harrison Wells of Earth-2. He is also the father of Jesse.”

“I see. Ok then. But is it fine to leave your team? I thought you guys were dealing with the Turtle?”

“It’s fine, they can manage without me for a while.”

Since that’s the case, there’s nothing else Lucas could say. The two of them said goodbye to Barry and the rest and left the building.

Back in the cortex, Barry sighed.

“...I wonder if he’s gonna hit on Caitlin too?”

“What’s that?”

“Nothing.”

Iris looked at her husband weirdly when she heard him mumble.

Outside Star Labs, Lucas turned to Caitlin and asked.

“Actually...do we even need to leave the building? I think I can just use this there, right?”

“Yes?”

“...”

Caitlin tilted her head.

“...Well whatever. Let’s just open the breach.”

Lucas sighed and clicked on the extrapolator. The next moment, a blue-ish portal appeared in front of them.

Lucas and Caitlin looked at each other and jumped!

EARTH-UF

“Waa! Daddy look! There’s another daddy!”

“Huh?”

As soon as the two landed, they were greeted with a small child that looked like she was only about 2 years old.

Behind her was a man who looked just like Lucas!

They seemed to be on a boat. Looking up, there was a pirate flag on the mast...

The two Lucas looked at each other in confusion. Then, the other Lucas saw the portal closing behind them and exclaimed.

“You guys...are from another Earth?”

“Huh? You knew?”

The other Lucas had a weird look on his face then sighed.

“Forget it, what are you here for?”

Lucas scratched his head.

“We’re looking for a friend...but I guess we’re not on the right Earth huh? Sorry to disturb you guys.”

Lucas quickly grabbed Caitlin and opened another portal as they both jumped in it.

Soon after, they landed once again on the roof of some building.

EARTH-WG

“This has to be the right Earth.”

Suddenly, they felt a figure land behind them.

Turning around, they saw a man wearing a black business suit and a knight helmet on his head.

“...I don’t think this is the right Earth.”

Caitlin whispered while looking at the other person in front of them warrily.

The helmet wearing business man looked at them confusingly then took off his helmet.

What they saw was...another Lucas!

“Who...are you guys?”

“...By any chance, you wouldn’t happen to know of Kid Flash or Harrison Wells, do you?”

“Kid Flash? Are you talking about comic books? Wait...your face...that portal...are you guys from a different Earth?”

Lucas sighed and turned to Caitlin.

“Yep, wrong Earth.”

Lucas ignored the other Lucas and opened another breach as he and Caitlin jumped in it once more.

After landing, Caitlin looked at Lucas weirdly.

“How come we keep ending up meeting with your doppleganger? Is the extrapolator broken? Let me see that for a sec.”

Caitlin took the extrapolator and looked at it.

“Hm...the coordinates are right...so why are we always ending up in weird earths?”

EARTH-RW

Right after she said that, she saw Lucas froze. Looking up, she saw that Lucas was staring at another man who was sitting in front of his computer.

They seemed to have gotten inside another person’s house.

Since they were intruding, Caitlin pulled on Lucas and jumped inside another portal.

What they didn’t see was that the man in front of the computer was typing a novel in a document. The title of the chapter was [Earths]...

Author: “Huh? I think I just felt something behind me...oh well.”

EARTH-FR

Lucas looked around and saw they were in some kind of beach.

Suddenly, the water rose and formed a horse...right, it was a horse made of water!

What’s more, sitting on top of the water horse was a beautiful woman with snow white hair.

Caitlin saw the woman as well and froze.

The woman waved her hand and ice spears shot around them.

“Who are you? Where did you come from?”

“Ice?”

As if triggered by something, Caitlin’s hair started to turn white and a chilly mist appeared from her hands.

“Bitch, you want to fight?”

“...Okay, we’re leaving!”

Lucas sweated and quickly opened another portal while pulling Caitlin who now turned into Killer Frost.

As Killer Frost, her personality also changes and isn’t so nice anymore…

This time, they landed in some sort of abandoned warehouse.

EARTH-SS

From the noise, there seemed to be fights going on.

Lucas looked at Caitlin and saw that she managed to revert back to normal.

Caitlin sighed.

“Sorry, I don’t know why Frost nearly went berserk…”

“Uhh, it’s fine. Anyway, where are we this time?”

Lucas turned to look at the fights that’s been going on and saw that a couple of thugs were shooting at a black...ghost? No, a Wraith seems to be a more appropriate term…

But there’s something off about that Wraith…

Before Lucas could take a closer look, Caitlin called out to him.

“Alright, I think I managed to fix the extrapolator, let’s go.”

“Ah, sure.”

Opening another portal, the two of them jumped in and landed in front of what looked like Star Labs.

EARTH-2

“There, we’re finally here!”
