It hurt.

It was a pain so intense it felt like being torn apart.

That was Abigail’s first feeling when she woke up.

After working non-stop for 48 hours, Abigail had died suddenly in the operating room.

As a famous and brilliant surgeon in Gills City, it wasn’t surprising that Abigail, who had barely rested for three years, died suddenly.

As the saying goes, “why sleep long when alive, as there will be plenty of time to sleep after death.” This had always been Abigail’s motto, but she never imagined that after dying suddenly during surgery, not only would she not sleep a long sleep, she would end up lying in a sickbed.

To be precise, it was a birthing bed.

Intense pain surged into Abigail’s brain along with the original host’s memories.

She had thought her own death was tragic enough, but she hadn’t expected the woman on the birthing bed to be more miserable.

The woman had literally died from pain.

Looking at the unsewn wound after the cesarean section, a trace of ruthlessness flickered across Abigail’s eyes. She struggled to sit up, widening the wound and causing blood to seep out.

It hurt.

Abigail had never experienced such pain in her life.

“The patient in bed 3 died of dystocia; her family ordered us to send her straight to the morgue. The chief…Ah!” The nurse in charge was speaking when she suddenly saw the patient on the birthing bed staring at her, which made her scream in fright.

“What happened?” The nurse beside her looked over following her colleague’s horrified gaze, only to tremble with fear as well. “Isn’t…isn’t she dead?”

“You, come here,” Abigail commanded a nurse, struggling through the excruciating pain.

The nurse was frightened, but beneath Abigail’s icy stare, she felt an invisible pressure force her to step forward. “What…what do you want?”

“Stitch me up,” Abigail said and then looked towards another trembling nurse. “You go fetch the anesthesia.”

“I…I don’t know how to…” she was only a nurse.

“Just follow my instructions.” Abigail wasn’t bothered at all, pointing at the tools on the cart. “First, clean out the lochia, then start stitching from the innermost layer…”

The nurse wanted to refuse, but for some reason, after meeting the gaze of the mother, she involuntarily picked up the needle and tremblingly proceeded according to her instructions.

By the time the other nurse returned with the anesthesia, they were done with the lochia cleaning and had started stitching.

The original host was very fat, the accumulation of fat thwarted the stitching process dramatically, causing the pain to intensify even under anesthesia.

Seven layers, a cesarean section required seven layers of stitches, and with the nurse doing it for the first time, it was at least three times slower than a regular doctor.

Two and a half hours passed, and by the end, Abigail’s body was drenched as if just fished out of water.

She collapsed back onto the birthing bed, taking heavy gasping breaths.

The nurse holding the needle looked at the jagged stitches, tremulously asked Abigail, “how…how do I tie a knot?”

“Give it to me,” struggling to sit up, Abigail tied the knot and collected the needle. “Take me back to my room.”

She was in excruciating pain, her whole body limp on the bed. After uttering those words, she passed out.

When she woke up again, she saw the familiar white walls of a hospital room and smelled the strong disinfectant odor.

She moved slightly, and the familiar pain made her realize that what happened earlier was real.

She had really been reborn in the body of an obese mother and had even personally instructed the nurses to suture her own wounds.

Organizing the memories in her mind, Abigail had come to understand her situation.

The original host’s real name was also Abigail, but her surname was Green – Abigail Green. She was only 19 years old and had just been admitted to medical school.

Her stepsister, in an attempt to attach herself to the second young master of the Piers family, schemed to have the original Abigail sleep with him by mistake, and then took her place.

Three months later, when they discovered that the original Abigail was pregnant, the stepsister hatched a plan in her anger: she forced Abigail to bear the child for her.

Out of fear that they would disclose her premarital pregnancy to her father, and in order to successfully attend university away from the repressively suffocating home, she shockingly agreed.

However, the cruel mother and daughter took this opportunity to coax and force the original Abigail to gain over a hundred pounds of weight – partly to avoid being recognized by the Piers young master but mainly with the malicious intent to kill her.

“Stupid.”

A low curse escaped Abigail’s lips; she felt both sympathy and frustration at the original host’s foolishness.

Her stepmother and stepsister were clearly malevolent, constantly bullying her at home, yet she still trusted them, only to die tragically because of it.

And the original host’s father, blaming the original host for the death of her mother during childbirth, had always favored the cruel mother and daughter pair.

Therefore, even though the original host’s father had no direct involvement in her death, it was the result of his indulgence.

Having cleared her thoughts, Abigail realized what she should do.

She was different from the original host; she was never someone to be bullied.

Coming from a family of medical experts, with extraordinary talent, she had already had a reputation at the age of 17. Even the heads of families in Swallow City would graciously address her as Miss Smith.

How could she tolerate anyone’s insults?

Even though she was no longer herself, since she occupied this body, she had to take responsibility for herself and for this body.

And, of course, she would seek revenge for the original host.

The next day, enduring the pain, Abigail managed to crawl out of bed to the restroom.

Looking at the fat body of the girl in the mirror, she struggled to suppress her grimacing eyebrows.

As a once-renowned surgical master, Abigail was not just a medical genius, but she also possessed admirable beauty and physique.

She was an extremely disciplined person, managing to stay in shape from her childhood.

But with the original host’s body…

Looking at herself in the mirror, Abigail felt her OCD symptoms kicking in, wishing to cut down the excess fat layer by layer from her body.

It seemed like seeking revenge was important, but losing weight was equally urgent.
