24 Dormitory Life

Both Eric and Noctis escorted me inside the dormitory building. The interior was grander than the exterior. I have lived inside a duke's mansion for many years, so I have gotten used to wealth, but this dormitory is in a whole new level. I have not gone inside the palace yet, but I feel that the interior of this dormitory comes close.

The interior had a white and gold motif. The furniture all looked top quality. All the decorations such as vases, paintings, and the likes, looked expensive and high class. The interior was literally shining with wealth.

The common lounge area was located after entering. There were people of the same age as I, looking our way. My eyes caught some familiar faces in the crowd, the children of the ducal houses of Duplet and Ainsworth. I saw Maris and Artisia together, the former was glaring daggers at me while the later was smiling.

"Your dorm room is this way my lady." Mrs. Elsa led the way to the stairs.

My escorts and I followed Mrs. Elsa and started to climb the flight of stairs. We passed the second and third floors and stopped on the fourth floor. I was waiting for Mrs. Elsa to lead us to my room.

"This floor is yours my lady." Mrs. Elsa said.

"A-All of this?" I asked in surprise.

"Yes, my lady." Mrs. Elsa replied.

I was lost for words and look at Eric beside me. He was smiling broadly.

"The duke has especially paid for you to live leisurely in your time here in the academy." Eric said, knowing that I was curious. "This was a surprise for you."

"I also gave the permission to renovate all of the fourth floor to your father's wishes." Noctis said.

I looked at both alternately. These two were in on this surprise.

"Let me take you to a tour my lady." Mrs. Elsa said.

We started to walk around the fourth floor.

"Here is where the bathroom and kitchen are located." Mrs. Elsa said.

I looked in the first door and saw a huge bathroom. It was lavishly decorated, complete with all the bath necessities and a huge bathtub that looked like a jacuzzi.

'Four people can fit in that bathtub.' I thought to myself.

In the next room I saw a small kitchen. It was unusual for a noble lady to cook by themselves, knowing that aristocrats have chefs of their own. But I on the other hand loves cooking and baking. My parents think of cooking and baking as my hobby and they encourage me to continue. I think father wanted me to have a kitchen of my own, for me to continue the so-called hobby of mine.

My eyes shined bright looking at the clean and orderly kitchen, complete with utensils. I looked around with a smile on my face.

"I know you will like it." Eric said with a smile.

"Yes, I love it." I said.

"Really?" I asked with a smile. "Then I will bake your favorite chocolate muffins after I have settled in."

"Will you give me one as well?" Noctis asked with puppy dog eyes. "I have only read your bakes pastries in your letters. I have always longed to taste them."

"Of course." I smiled broadly. "I will invite you two for tea and pastries once I have settled."

This was the least I can do, after both of them have contributed making this dorm floor for me.

"Speaking of tea, the next room is your private parlor where you can receive guests and serve tea and sweets." Mrs. Elsa said.

Mrs. Elsa lead the way to the other side and the first door lead to the parlor. The interior was decorated with light colors. The furniture was of high quality as well. I was pleased to know that father thought of me having my own private parlor where I can entertain guests.

'After I make friends, I will surely invite them here.' I thought.

"Next is your bedroom my lady." Mrs. Elsa said.

We followed Mrs. Elsa once again and she opened the last door. Inside was a large room with pink and white motif. A large canopy bed was at the far side and opposite were comfortable couches and a fireplace.

"It just looks like my room at the estate." I said with amazement.

"Aunty said that you would be less homesick if your room here is decorated similarly to the one at home." Eric said.

My heart clenched knowing that mother and father prepared all of these for me to live comfortably here at the academy. Tears started to trickle down my eyes.

"I-Is there a problem Ysa?" Noctis asked in worry. "If there is something you don't like, then I can arrange it to your liking."

"N-No it's not that." I said, wiping the tears away. "I just… miss my family. That's all." I said with a smile.

Noctis and Eric had a solemn smile on their faces. Of course, they know that this was the first time I was away from my home and family.

"I am sure they miss you as well." Eric said and gently pulled me into a hug. Because of his action I cannot help but cry on his chest.

"Don't worry Ysa, we are also here to take care of you." Noctis patted my head.

"Thanks, you two." I said with gratitude.

When I first came into this world, I was lucky to meet Alyssa's loving family. I have quite adjusted to my life here and now I was separated with that loving family. Fortunately, I have Eric, Derrick, and Noctis with me as my first friends here in the academy. I need to adjust to a new life here in the academy once again, and I am happy that they are with me.

This may be similar to the highschool in my past life, but here this is a battlefield. The Royal Academy is the location where the novel begins and where my death flags await. I vowed to break all that death flags and live a happy and comfortable life as a duke's daughter in this world.

'I promise to live my life to the fullest as a rich lady after all of this is over.' I promised myself.
