"Dad, I made this!"
"Dad, look at my castle!" A little boy of around four or five jumped up and with his chubby legs ran to a man. He pulled his father's hand and pointed to the sandcastle he just made. The man looked at him with pride, ruffled his hair and both kneeled beside it.
"Isn't it strong and big?" He looked up waiting for a word of praise.
"Well. It looks good. How did you make that?" He patted his son's head.
"Dad, you make one too."
"Okay."
A woman was looking at the cute pair with sparkly eyes. The cool sea breeze danced with her hair. The calming sound of waves, along with the noises of the boy's laughter, added pleasantness to this place.
"What's wrong? Why did you stop? Are you tired?" A warm hand fell on her shoulders. She didn't turn in the direction of the voice, staring at the pair of father and son as they walked out of her sight.
Then she turned to Vivan and smiled "That boy was so cute!"
Vivan ruffled her hair gently and said, "Cute" He smiled, and his warm hands caressed her belly anticipating the arrival of their babies. With their upcoming promotion to future parents, they seem to observe every small kid around.
They came out for an evening walk on the beach. Vivan walked a few steps ahead of her only to find her standing far behind, fixed in a place. He walked back and saw her staring at the back of the little kid. He was sure Ira would be a good mother in the future.
"Let's sit," Vivan said pointing to a bench nearby. He walked a few steps with the support of a cane. Although this cane made him slower and walking was still a bit painful, but the exercise was a must. Once he strengthens the lower leg muscle enough, he would no longer need the cane to walk. Time flies and two months had passed by. Vivan had undergone successful rehabilitation for his leg.
They both sat on the bench by the seaside staring into the infinite sea and blue sky. By habit, Ira caressed her big belly. The babies and her health was stable now. These days were beautiful and calming for her. They were together almost 24*7.
Life felt the most desirable to live at this moment. Nothing could go wrong. Although the two have been married for more than a couple of years, these couple months were the best. Ira's attitude initially towards Vivan has always been extremely indifferent. But these days, the relationship between the two was like a newlywed couple. The happiness she felt these days washed over all the troubled times and made her forget all the bad times.
A week after Vivan's hospitalization due to post-surgery complications, Ira had a mild vaginal bleed that threatened abortion. Those days, she scurried around everywhere, stressing over the matters of Vivan, Reeya and the Company. The overexertion finally took a toll on her health. She was hospitalized with high blood pressure and suggested bed rest as her womb was weak.
Along with the medications, the doctor's most advice for her was to stay away from stress until childbirth. She also had strictly advised her to restrict her activities and stay home. For one, her overactive lifestyle and thus assed strain were harming. The most dangerous outcome was a chance of premature delivery with multiple pregnancies hence Ira finally complied.
Ira and Vivan directly shifted to a non-stress atmosphere in the countryside, her mother-in -law's place. Away from the city, time was spent with Vivan. Rehabilitation for Vivan was also necessary, so considering her health along with Tara, they drove to her house.
She took maternity leave and kept minimum contact with the company. Tej Rai retook control, instead of blindly trusting anyone. But as you know, Ira wasn't the one to let go of all the reins in her hand. So all the major projects and meetings were held in her presence through video calls.
Her brother was working in the laboratory under Dr. Hari. After carefully settling and planning about everything not only about the company but also of Ashay and Reeya, she took the leave. If everything goes well in these past months, these two may have already got together. A smirk appeared on Ira's face.
With the thought of Ashay, Ira decided to call Dr. Hari. The man's phone had only two numbers, one of Ira and another of Ashay. He only shared his numbers with these them.
With some uncertainty, she asked, "How is Ashay doing?" The man could hang the call any second, so she asked directly. The antisocial professor hated long conversation. He was only willing to talk to her not because she was the boss but because he once considered her genius.
Dr. Hari did not hesitate before saying: "Good, he is very smart and learns things very quickly."
She breathe a sigh of relief. It took a long time to convince Dr. Hari to work with someone. One month was a trial period he accepted which somehow became two. A major stone dropped from her heart as the doctor finally accepted Ashay as a disciple. Under his leadership, her brother's future was assured.
It took a long time to convince Dr. Hari to work with someone. One month was a trial period he accepted which somehow became two.
"He is more innocent, and some people may take advantage of him," Ira stated. A smile of pride bloomed in her heart. From the time she knew Dr. Hari, he never praised anyone.
"Okay."
"..." An awkward silence followed, and the phone was hanged.
Orange filled the sky as the sea swallowed the red sun. "Let's go back. It will be dark soon." Vivan stood up, leaning on the arm holding cane and stretched out his other hand. Ira chuckled at the man who in spite of himself needing support was acting as she was disabled. She shook her head and slowly got up but instead of placing her hand in his, she wrapped it around his waist.
The walked back home hand in hand to Tara's villa in the countryside. Both supporting one another walking at tortoise speed.
