"I think I'm falling in love a little." She finally said it loud. The air in the ward seemed to have solidified, time stopped. It seemed as if there existed only two people in this world staring at each other.
Since the time he got operated, Ira decided to reveal her emotions.
As it turns out, when recounting the events that took place, her heart screamed at him were," Don't die?"
"I didn't even confess?"
"I didn't even tell you I love you."
"How could you die?"
It's love. The word was more of a burden, now felt terrific. She had swallowed her emotions, feeling constant anxious insecurity. Saying it out, she felt relaxed.
"Then, I should make you fall in love with me more."
"Ah.." In his mood, he got out of bed, forgetting he couldn't move his leg at the moment. Just sitting up and pulling the braces on the bed took much effort.
He frowned, "Damm Leg!"
"You...lay back." His excited response made her angry. Pointing her finger at him, she stood up.
'Idiot' She cursed him again in her heart. The man was so impulsive.
He slid back.
"If anytime in life I can't reach to you. You have to walk to me."
His lingering voice touched her soul.
In the dim moonlight, her cheeks holding a smile looked enchanting. A fresh air current made its way to her, fluttering her fine hair.
Without hesitation, she stepped towards him. When he was expecting to touch her, she strolled to the window and closed it.
Bang!
'Did she already guessed my intentions?' Through his sweet words, he wanted to entice her and let her cry under him.
She strode back passed him, ignoring the loss in his eyes. She got on the sofa, covering herself in a quilt.
"I am sleepy. It's late." She fake yawned.
Having already seen his face flashing unrestrained desire, she elected to stay away.
'Serves you right.' Her hands clung to the blanket; one could detect only a pair of eyes. When the bed squeaked, a light chuckle could be heard from the sofa.
After a while, his next words immediately awakened her.
"Did you take your pills?" He remembered the iron and vitamin pills. Most of the time, he was in charge of giving them or let her take them in his supervision.
"Eh... I forgot?" He made her so depended; she didn't have to manage her diet, medications, and hospital visits.
Ira got up, opened her handbags and got pills.
"Iron."
"Folic acid."
"Drink water."
"Hmm," she said, taking a few sips.
'How can you swallow them without water?' However, besides nodding, she could say nothing.
Bowing her head, she muttered, "Obviously."
When it came to their kids, Vivan became a strict husband while she obediently followed his instructions.
"Okay, you can sleep now," he ordered like a master letting his slave rest for the night.
So with his permission, she dozed off as soon as she fell on the couch.
