"Why can't I still do things right?" Ira said. "Why didn't he tell me?"

Even though he didn't fully understand the issue, Vivan got most of it.

"It's okay. Go talk to him." Vivan advised. For a couple of years, he deemed Ashay as a notorious playboy. Only a few months back he got to know him. Even if he had many faults the best quality he had was the respect he had in Ira. Their relationship lacked anything but love.

Ashay was sleeping when Ira walked to his bed. She stared at him fondly and ruffled his hair. With the disturbance, Ashay frowned and opened his eyes. In irritation, he opened his mouth to say something. "Sis..."He stopped when he saw Ira in front of him. Ashay sat up and flinched seeing her.

Did she come to know of his blunder?

"Sis, that deal. I didn't know it will go wrong." His brows were wrinkled. "I will correct it?" he immediately pleaded.

His innocent face had an expression that would force anyone to forego his mistakes. His posture reminded her of their childhood.Even if she scolded him he would always get away with that face.

"What's this?" She placed the dairy in front of him.

"Ahh ..." he reached out to snatch it, "Nothing ... just some scribbles." He took back the dairy and bowed his head.

"Why didn't you tell me you wanted to be a scientist and I was dead set on making you a businessman?" Ira said.

"I'm not sure." his low voice showed his insecurity and lack of confidence.

Like Tej Rai was Ira's anchor and a reason to work hard, she was his. Like she struggles to get a word of praise from her father, so did he wanted to hear one from her.

Ira couldn't resist brushing his hair looking at his meek self. "Ash, you remember, there was a time once you would share everything with me. Every little thing. We never fought. We were best friends."

"Hmm, when did we change Sis?" he raised his head. His eyes were welled with water like hers. To hide those he hid his face on her lap.

She continued stroking his hair remembering he liked that in their childhood. He would come to her running on his chubby legs snuggle in her lap and place her hand on his head. Her touch full of warmth and protection soothed him in seconds.

Some moments of silence followed.

"Ash, do you remember in our childhood, every time a new factory was a launched dad will transfer to the place to look over it." Ira reminisced their childhood days.

"Yes. New place, new people. I loved it." His soft eyes smiled.

"You remember that Motu, your friend?" she asked.

"Yes, Raj."

"He was an idiot." she giggled.

"No way. He was awesome. He used to do my homework"

"Idiot. He got fooled by you. You would make him write everything in exchange of few chocolates." Ira said. "And that girl pinky. I used to tease you."

"Julie," he said. Ira couldn't remember their names. She called Raj motu because he was fat and Julie, pinky because she always wore pink.

"You always blushed in front of her."

"She was beautiful," he confessed.

"Even that nerd Rakesh."

"Hehe. He used to like you. You know. Only if you were younger." Ashay teased her.

"Eww ... No way." The boy she recalled always had a runny nose.

"Yes, he did."

"No ..." They giggled for a while.

"Do you remember any of my friend, Ash," Ira asked.

Ashay though for a long while, before coming to a realization. He sat up and looked in her eyes.

"Eh .... No, no.... none" He shook his head. He remembered not a single person.

"That's because I had only one friend and that was you."

"My baby bro, I'm still at the same place. Waiting for my friend." She patted his head.
