"Greetings, Princess Aeinshia. Would you be having lunch with The Emperor. I have no intention to offend you, but I've not received any information, that you would be dining with the Emperor for lunch."
The maid, gently asked. She is the woman who is responsible for emperors every meal now. Aeinshia never spoke much to her, but from their previous exchanges, she could decipher, this maid is surely a trust worthy, but that doesn't mean she need to let her guard down.
Aeinshia shook her head. "Its alright. I just came to see the Emperor. Even, uncle doesn't have any information that I would be seeing him." Aeinshia assured the maid and went to sit at the table, to rest her aching legs.
The maid followed her and Aeinshia looked at her, sharply. She was cautious of everyone, since she knew, she was alone and was going alone to City Sylter.
The maid tensed up and jumped a bit, seeing her reaction towards her and Aeinshia smiled at her. Indicating no harm to the maid. The maid thought, she offended the princess and now, she was going to be punished.
"Princess, would you like if we served you lunch along with the Emperor. I think, the Emperor would enjoy your company and you should have some meals, as it is your lunch time as well." The maid asked in hused time, this time making her tone even more soft, so not to offend the princess again.
Aeinshia had a bit of trouble listening to her words, as they were too soft and hushed to hear, but she somehow understood from the words, 'lunch' and 'lunch time'.
"Yes, you may serve my lunch along with the Emperor's when you serve his." Aeinshia told and looked at her, hoping she got the hint, to leave her alone. The maid got the hint and bowed and went out to the kitchen to fulfill the order.
Aeinshia was again left alone, with her thoughts and she began to drown in that. She thought about Evan.
'How is Evan doing? Is he still on his journey, or he reached the East. Is he eating and resting well? He is not being attacked, right? Of course not, he is very cautious and strong. He wont let anyone, to hurt him that way.
But, still. What if they attack when he resting. Will the East people listen to his words and form a peace treaty with the throne? Would they attack him? How will he persuade them? His temper sometimes shoots up without reason.
I hope he is safe and gets home safely. That's everything I ask for, at this point. Evan's safety is important, no matter what.'
Aeinshia's thoughts were wilding in her head and she was shook from them, when she heard a deep voice, interrupting her.
She didnt know how to react and simply smiled. Alexander ignored the fact, she didnt reply anything and made his was towards the table, specifically to the seat where she was sitting.
He reached his hand and petted her head and went on to sit in the seat at the head of the table. With, Aeinshia sitting at the seat on his right.
Aeinshia didnt know, how to start the conversation, so she was comtemplating internally. Now, she was cursing herself internally, that she didnt prepare any dialogues, before this.
But, to her rescue, the maids came in, bringing their lunch for today. Alexander acknowledged the greetings that he received and the maids were dismissed, after the lunch was served.
Aeinshia half expected, that her uncle would strike up a conversation and she could just divert the direction and bring up the topic, but that didnt happen.
Alexander just smiled and gestured for her to have her lunch, while he spooned up his meal from his plate and ate, wordlessly. Aeinshia just stared at him, what would she say now.
Aeinshia was at total loss for words. She just stared at Alexander, but realized that this action seem too creepy. She decided it would be better, if she eats too.
So, the duo sat and ate their meal in complete silence, with Aeinshia's nerves raging inside her. She was contemplating how to start the topic, when she jumped due to the sudden sound.
"Don't worry much, Aeinshia. Your Father, Evan and your brother, too. I just received the information about their status and everything seems to be under control and smooth, for now." Alexander spoke up, giving out the information he obtained before coming for his meals.
Alexander understood, Aeinshia came here to talk to him about the morning scenario. She left in hurry, without answering him and he knew, she was here now to answer him.
But, unfortunately, Alexander knew Aeinshia more than she would ever have an idea. Aeinshia can be a awkward when it comes to start conversations with others. And, now, she was currently through that crisis. So, he decided he would give her a pass and started the conversation, by giving her necessary information about her loved ones.
After finishing his words, he stared at Aeinshia. Silently, encouraging her to speak her thoughts out. Because, he also knew Aeinshia can be a bit slow in understanding the signs given to her.
Aeinshia stared at her uncle, processing the words said by him. When, they finally, sank in her system, she was able to react by smiling, genuinely. She was happy knowing they were all safe.
She cleared her throat a bit, when she realized her uncle was staring at her with somewhat hopeful eyes. She got the meaning and pulls herself together.
"I'm sorry about the morning. I really didnt mean to offend you or hurt you in anyway. Its just that, I've a lot on my mind. I've been getting close with father and suddenly the problems in the capital and departure of brother, messed up my mind.
I don't really know, why I was feeling things like this. I should not. I should understand and act according to the situation. I should stay strong, so I can pull people around me too. But, i was too drowned in my own sorrow, I didnt realize my behavior towards others."
Aeinshia stopped her ranting, when she felt Alexander's hands clutching her own. Alexander clutched her hands, tightly. He smiled at her, trying to calm her down. They stayed like that, silently. Aeinshia withdrawing as much as comfort, she was able to from Alexander.
"Calm down, dear Aeinshia. There is nothing wrong in have having feelings. Its sometimes hard to handle them. And, you never offended or hurt me. I understand where you stand and I don't blame you for all these." Alexander sweetly explained her.
Before, he could further say anything, Aeinshia interuppted him. "Uncle, I don't think I would be going to City Sylter, this time." She blurted out. She knew, I she didnt tell it now, she won't be able to say it again. But, she didnt expect to her words to come out like that.
Alexander stared at her, as if expecting something from her. Aeinshia didnt understand what that look means, that was directed towards her.
"Uh... Uncle, I think it would be better if I didnt go this time around. There is already a checking going on, both in the capital and in other cities. It would be a hassle to go on my journey right now." She spoke, but she was very nervous about the reaction, she would get from Alexander.
What if her uncle reacts negatively? What if he reacts not so good to her words? What if he is offended, that I, his sister's own daughter doesnt go to pay her a visit on her death anniversary? Would her uncle be upset. if I break the tradition?
There once again, overthinking was plaguing her mind. Alexander realized he took a lot more time to reply to the confession and he could oractically see Aeinshia brain gears work in in over drive.
"As I said, Overthinking isn't good, my niece. Are you sure, you won't b e going this time?" Alexander softly asked, while car ass in her hair.
Aeinshia nodded her head. For some reason, she felt she should explain something to her uncle, so he won't be offended in any way. "I don't want you to burden yourself, with my safety, too. I can see you are already stressed with all this mess and me going would increase your worries even more. I don't want to burden you with that."
Aeinshia softly spoke, while she bowed her head. She was ashamed, that she had to make up that excuse for that. Alexander laughed loudly and his laughter rang in the dining room for some minutes.
"My girl, who said that would be a burden. Yes, I'm stressed because of this mess. But, I would never ever say no to your wishes. If you wish to go, I would arrange the best guards to accompany you to the temple. If you don't want to go, then I would respect your decision and leave it up to you. There is no need to encourage such thoughts, that you and your safety are burden for me."
Aeinshia's eyes welled up at the words from her uncle. He was truly a blessing to her life. She nodded her head with teary eyes and hugged him, tightly. Trying to express her gratitude to him, by this hug.
