"Who would be knocking at my door right now?" But, it was Aeinshia who voiced out her concern. Afternoon was rare time for visits. Everyone would be busy with their duties and the maids would be preparing the necessities for the royals.
So, the other royals, mostly princesses and the queens of the Emperor, would be having leisure time during afternoons. For, Aeinshia too, this was time to relax or do some tasks, such as simply reading or drawing something.
Sophia glanced at Aeinshia, silently asking for the permission for answering the door. Aeinshia nodded in her direction and she too got up from her small personal dining table.
While Sophia went to answer the door, Aeinshia cleaned her mess with a napkin and straightened the folds of her robes as there was a visitor at her door.
When she glanced at the door, her mouth slacked a bit, at the unexpected visitor.
Aeinshia was shocked when she realized who was at the door. The only she never expected to be.
Her heartbeat picked up pace, her body shook with excitement but also some hesitation. She wasn't totally comfortable yet. She just stared at the person at the door.
She glanced at the scene that was going on at her doorstep. Sophia opened the door and greeted the person with soft and gentle voice. "Greetings, General Andrew Rutz." She then bowed at her waist with a formal posture.
Andrew who was dressed in cream and red clothes, hands clasped behind his back, his presence radiating power and authority, nodded looking at the lady at the door and nodded his head.
Sweat was slowly trickling down from his temples. "Father must be coming from the training grounds." Aeinshia thought inside her head.
She realized thats he didnt even invite her father into her chambers. Aeinshia scrambled up to the door and bowed politely. "Greetings, Father. Please step into the chambers."
Aeinshia then straightened up and stretched her arms towards her room, gesturing her father to step in. Andrew gave a little smile and proceed in into the lavish room of the princess' chambers.
The room was simple but, elegant. The rooms differed with the tastes of the princess living in it. Aeinshia was the first princess to stay in the princesses chambers, as she is the first princess of this generation.
Her room was always the same from her childhood. As, she grew old, small pots of plants started to take place in her vast balcony. The bookcase and her writing desk also, increased in size, in accordance with hr growing knowledge.
The walls were creamy white, the furniture's were also, in the shade dark brown and cream combination. Andrew glanced around and found some of the artworks done by his daughter.
But, her birth was linked with the death of his wife. He couldn't fathom the thought of his wife leaving this world, before him and leaving him alone. The blow was quite hard to his heart.
His love for his wife was proven to be much greater than his love and Aeinshia's need for care as a baby. Simply speaking, his ignorance created a big gap between them.
Aeinshia, too, never made an effort to exactly get to know her father and the gap remained, more of, expanded with the passing time. The only time they saw each other, were at the mercy of Felix. He was like a joining thread between the daughter and father.
The royal children of the Seazle , always seem to lack the love from one of their parents. Which, eventually, leads their gap with the other parent.
As they say, as the power increases, the gap among the people increases. But, the thing people fail to mention is, love always prevails.
Even if, they don't talk or interact much, they love their parents a lot. And, its unavoidable that a parent forever will love their children with whole heart.
The royal relationships are just messed up that way. But, they manage to along with all these things.
Andrew scanned the whole with his eyes and found it very calming, somehow. He then, glanced towards Aeinshia, who was looking up at him, with slightly wide eyes and her fingers fidgeting with each other.
He slowly chuckled, when he remembered the habit being exhibited by someone close to his heart. She was exact replica of her.
He dismissed his thoughts by turn in his head to look out of the huge window, facing the vast greenery the capital had.
"Uh.. Father." Aeinshia started, still feeling awkward by the sudden visit. Never had her father visited her in her chamber. Neither at home, nor at the palace.
So, thisvisit was the first and most surprising. She was shocked to say that least. She was also, nervous, not knowing the reason for the visit.
"Did something happen? Do I do something? Is it about something concerning me?" Her thoughts were running wild and she started to become more distressed, visibly.
Her hands began to sweat and she shifted her weight from one leg to other. Andrew noticed the sudden distressed aura com in from beside him. He then, chuckled loudly, startling Aeinshia.
"Stop over thinking. I just came to talk" Andrew spoke with his deep voice, after clearing his throat. Aeinshia glanced up to look into her father's eyes and found only a fond look in them.
Shee softly smiled, which was returned. "Why dont we sit and talk, Father." Aeinshia beamed happily and Andrew couldn't be mroe happy for making his daughter happy.
He followed his daughter, who had a little skip in her step. The smile never left his face, his daughter was simply that previous and cheerful, to light up anyone's world and face.
He just wished nothing bad, would get on her daughter's way. He had gained a lot of enemies than love or friends, from the battle fields and negotiations. They were all wolves dressed as sheeps.
He just wished that his actions would not come to bite his precious children. He couldn't stop the results coming in Felix's way. That was inevitable. He was going to take his place. A general, his heir.
When he takes over and starts his duties, the people seeking his revenge would try to hurt his son. But, his son was trained and take care of himself from the traitor's or revengers tactics. Felix is very good at mind games and he doesn't trust others easily. He is the prodigy of the century. So Andrew never had a chance to get worry about his son. But Aeinshia's case has always been different.
His daughter Aeinshia was innocent and precious. A girl with heart full of kindness, love and respect for others. She trusts others very easily for her own good not knowing people aren't what you see actually. So he was very worried about her. He only ever wished that innocence never gets ruined in her and that beautiful smile always stays on her bright face. So, according to him, she doesn't deserve to get involved in all the dirty work of the politics.
That is his biggest fears and now, he doesn't have to fret on this matter anymore. His baby is going to be an Empress. A woman, who would rule the kingdom along side an Emperor. But now Aeinshia is changing for betterment and became matured. She now knows how to tackle a situation and what to do when something goes wrong.
And, he was sure, she was going to do a good job in this. She is becoming into a strong woman, empathetic and very understanding in nature. She is like a nurturer. Just, like a flower. Soft and sweet to see and make others feel good. But, can hurt with its thorns, when there is an ill intention.
The daughter and father duo, sat on the soft matteress. Aeinshia was seated in front of him. Her face lit up very brightly. She had hands neatly placed on her lap and her posture straight and elegant.
Aeinshia looked up to her father with wide and excited eyes. She was happy, that finally, they were getting close. She was eagerly waiting for her father to tell what he wanted to tell.
Andrew realized the curiosity and excitement in her and decide to talk "How are you doing, daughter." His deep voice was laced with softness and care.
That one statement, did something to her heart and suddenly, her eyes started pricking, tears threatening to fall anytime. In all these years, according to her memory, this was the first time her father spoke like this to her.
Andrew observed the glistening eyes of Aeinshia and smiled sadly, knowing exactly what's going on in her head.
"I'm-I'm doing good, Father. H-How are y-you doing?" Aeinshia asked, her voice finally breaking at the end and the tears almost sliding down her smooth cheek, if it wasn't for her wipe them off.
"I'm fine, my baby." Andrew gently, patted her hair and smiled fondly at Aeinshia. Aeinshia smiled back widely, tears blurring her sight, but, still making out the fond smile on her father's face.
They were both emotional.tears glistening both of their eyes, "Your locks are becoming rough. Aren't you using good products?" Andrew said, seriously and observed her locks as if he is fretting over something. Aeinshia laughed out loudly, at the weird try to break the emotional atmosphere.
(wow, what a weird change of topic you got here Andrew) ~author
Now, she fully understood where she and her brother got the awkwardness and the weird sense of humour from. She laughed more at the thought.
