120 Chapter 120. Status - 2

The guard on the other hand was panting for his life. He was on the verge of passing out considering the amount of sweat pouring and how unfocused his eyes seemed. He opened his mouth only to close it again and gulp down, in an attempt to wet his dry as sand paper throat.

His eyes lifted up and when his gaze landed on the Emperor sitting on the throne, he fell down to his knees and bowed his head in a silent greeting.

"A-Apolo-Apologies m-my lo-lord. Apologies for such action, y-your highness." The guard panted out while trying to even his breaths and catch some wetness in his throat.

Alexander didn't speak and threw a glance at the General who was standing and staring at the guard. Andrew took notice of the intense gaze of the Emperor and took the matter in his hands.

"The reason for this audacity, guard?" His voice was deathly low and had a dangerous edge to it. The gaurd's head snapped in the direction of the general. His direct commander and he bowed once again in respect.

"Apologies, General." He is still panting. But, now he placed a hand on his chest and tried to breath evenly, despite the seriousness of the situation, which he doesn't seem to catch.

"Do you acknowledge the seriousness of the situation? You would be faced serious punishment for this kind of inconvience in the classified meeting of the royal court, " General Andrew's voice boomed in the throne room and finally the guard looked up with fear in his eyes.

He then turned towards the Emperor, fear now dominating all the emotions shown in his eyes. Alexander just raised his eyebrow and was now getting agitated by the intrusion.

There must be a solid reason for why the guard suddenly came barging in.

His curiosity was reaching its high and so is his anxiety. He was worried. Maybe the intruders are finally in the Seazle's border when they were sitting and revising their plan. Anything may happen.

General Andrew was about to bark some orders, but was cut by the agitated tone of the Emperor Alexander.

"Speak up. The reason." He spoke his voice thick with concern about his empire and the rage that was building up.

The guard gulped down a huge amount of saliva and straightened his back, from where he was kneeling down still.

"Your highness. A riot. A huge riot is happening." The guard said out in a panicked tone.

Everyone were shocked hearing this. A riot? At this time? About what?

He had just obtained the status from all over the country and they all seemed to be compromising and no sign of any dissatisfaction or any possible violence against the Emperor.

Then, suddenly a riot out of nowhere?

He got his doubts, but his expressions least bit concerned about his thoughts. This is unexpected and things are changing fast than he expected them to take place.

Milan frowned while thinking and all the others were equally lost. The guard gulped down several times, before starting again.

"Its the recent information from the eastern part. A wounded guard of ours, came to the border of capital to inform about it. The guard in charge..." He trailed off.

Alexander looked at him with squinting eyes, his teeth gritting and nose flaring in rising emotions.

"The guard in charge who came here took his last breath. He is severely wounded and informed the riot is very violent and many of our guards were taken down by the commoners. The commoners began to attack all governing bodies, including guards, ministers, and began to destroy all government properties. They turned aggressive in a night and the riot is spreading like a wild fire all around the east, gathering other sufferers from all over the east part of empire, " He finished and collapsed down onto his legs.

Alexander's frown was now deeper than ever. A riot. By commoners. Guards were taken down. How's that possible? Each guard who appointed were physically fit and could kill £

atleast ten's of commoners even if fought bare handedly. Then how?

As he thought, he understood, this time the guards hadn't only need to protect people and themselves, while kill the opponents, but they had to take down the enemies instead of killing them, cause the enemies were also a part of this empire, who are the commoners and those soldiers can't injure those commoners, following their warriors code. But those are not normal people who need protection, they turned into devils killing each other.

Sigh~

Alexander's jaw clenched and unclenched as his brain slowly processed the information given. What the hell is even going on in his empire?

Not only Alexander, but everyone in the throne room were clouded with similar thoughts. Just a few weeks ago, everything was all sunshine and rainbows. Nobody knows how the situations turned to this.

General Andrew clapped his hands and soon two guards heavily clad in armor, came rushing. They bowed down to the Emperor and to all the higher officials in the throne room. Andrew gestured towards the collapsed guard and then, scrambled towards him.

The two gaurds held the guard up by his shoulders and tried to take him out, without disturbing the eery silence that settled down inside the huge throne room. The atmosphere was not very pleasant right now.

Andrew returned to his seat and looked up at the Emperor, who had a frown on his face, but eyes totally devoid of any emotions and staring blankly at the floor of the throne room.

Suddenly, Alexander's voice boomed in the room, startling everyone.

"Summon the presence of the Crown Prince." he said with a leveled voice with an edge to it. It was a simple order, but they didtn't know how to carry that out.

Reason? Simple, they didn't know where the crown prince Evan is. He might be still in the festival, seeing as all the young people would be there having fun and enjoying themselves.

Can't blame him, all young generation had no obligation to attend the meeting, as nothing new is going to be discussed tonight. Finalizing the terms which they were discussing from long ago and dispatching General Andrew Rutz on behalf of the whole empire is the original plan.

But fate always plays it role. Problems after problems coming in their way and taking a high toll on governing. Is it that the God testing their limits and capabilities? Now they got to find the prince whose whereabouts were unknown.

Sigh~ so much work in hands at the present moment. Thats the only thought lingered in everyone's mind.

General Albert Hendrel, a small man with a plump body, but stoic face stood up. General Albert Hendrel is the man who is responsible for capital security and the one who guards and is responsible for the internal borders of the capital.

General Albert Hendrel called his guards to come in. The main guard came over and bowed before the Emperor and then, to his commander.

General Hendrel, immediately passed the orders to check for the First Prince's presence in the capital's ground and near the Lake Cosmos. The guard bowed and went off to follow the emergency orders given to them, with his troop.

Several minutes passed and still no news of the Prince. They didn't get a clue where the prince went. Not only that, the acquantices who always stayed beside prince Evan, that is peter too dissapeared into thin air, which made them doubt their own capabilities of finding someone. Truly, they all felt so ashamable, for not even able to find a single person.

The people in throne room were waiting for something to happen, but nothing. The eery silence, that had fallen when the guard delivered the information was prevailing till now.

The Emperor didn't utter a single word, but everyone could see the harsh breaths inhaled and exhaled by him. They expected the Prince's arrival anytime, but there seemed to be no news of him till now.

"Are my orders not carried out?" Alexander finally spoke, after a long silence. All the officials were startled and looked up the throne with wide eyes. Alexander saw their expressions and his irritation went up to a new level.

"Guards!" He yelled and stood up from his seat. All the men scrambled up to their feet to follow the Emperor. His loud voice echoed through the room and reached the hallway.

Some guards came inside and bowed to the Emperor. Alexander just shouted once more "Summoning alert!"

His shriek startled the guards and the officials gave him surprised glance. They figured out that the Emperor was under lot of pressure to give out such order. Well, this is an important issue and time is what they have use wisely now.

They had to make a decision fast and wisely.

All the man stayed in the throne room. Alexander seated himself on the throne and tried to calm down from his anger. All the officials followed his suit and seated themselves on their respective seats.

Alexander knew, the more one fells into a situation, the more they need to stay calm, but he just seemed uncontrollable now. His own empire might fall into ruins if he didn't take proper measures. As the saying goes, the internal issues in an empire causes much to the empire compared to outer isses. An empire may sustain external conflicts, but internal conflicts may reduce any great empire to think sands.

He really doesn't want to see his empire fall out with internal conflicts, and he really cannot understand why those innocent guards have to be killed in the end. They are meant to protect the people, but those people attacking them? Surely, if thinks get out of hand, then he is afraid, he got to show his tyrant side to the world again.

And, as per the orders given by the Emperor, a loud 'BANG' was heard outside.

It repeated for three times and an alert was passed around the capital.
