Cyril had never thought that he'll meet a troublesome S-Rank Awakened here in the Tower.
Nevertheless, he decided to stay away from that woman as she would surely cause a lot of trouble later on and he didn't want to be remembered by her.
'She looks really innocent now though… I wonder what made her change so much…' Cyril mused as he recalled that Asta would become one of the most dangerous S-Rank Awakened and she would slaughter an entire guild that disrespected her.
He didn't know the details aside from the result of her madness so he really couldn't judge her. At the very least, he knows that it's better to not mess with her or even think of being acquainted with her.
'Alright, enough of that… Let's see what this place can offer for a newbie like me.' Cyril finally smiled for a bit.
He walks around to find something that will catch his attention and after some time, he finally saw a gloomy store selling bunch of ancient items like jars, plates, cups, vases, and other random small things… They all looked quite old but the thing that truly stopped him was their engravings.
He looked at the glass door and found an old lady at the counter who seemed to be sleeping while being supported by her hands…
Clang! Clang!
As soon as he entered, a bell rang loud enough to wake the grandma working at the store.
She opened her eyes quickly and noticed that a customer came in. Instead of greeting him, she just smiled at him probably telling him to just look for the item he's interested in and bring it to her.
Of course, Cyril didn't waste any more words as he picked up a canteen engraved with an "unknown language", based on its description.
There is a price tag below it telling that it is worth 9,300 Ains. It is very expensive since it's not even a magic item but just a normal old item that even seems to be very brittle by now.
Since it's just an ancient item, perhaps only collectors would want them since at the very least, it came from an Arcane World.
"I would like to purchase this. However, I want to hear its history or the place where you get this." Cyril said.
Apparently, the engravings or the language on most of the items here are all familiar to him!
This is an Elven Language!
Thanks to his deal with Xagan, he can basically read, write, and speak many forms of languages!
His trade from before was truly useful. Anyway, he was somehow looking forward to this moment after receiving this powerful communication ability.
"Hmm?" The old lady squinted her eyes as she looked at the item still covered in the glass box.
She then sighed for a moment before explaining whatever she knows about the item.
"It came from an Arcane World previously owned by my daughter. It has traces of human settlements but no human has been ever found."
'Well, those are most likely traces from elves instead of humans…' Cyril thought as he looked at the small canteen again.
What is written here isn't something special aside from the name of its owner…
'Halafarin Aehice.' This is the name written if converted from their language.
"I see… That's an interesting Arcane World. Right, may I ask, is it no longer owned by your daughter?"
The old lady's eyes looked melancholic as she explained that her daughter has already died.
Because of that, she decided to sell the Arcane World's entrance owned by her daughter to a rich businessman so, at the very least, they'll have enough money to live by and avoid getting pressured by many Awakened who wanted to take possession of the Entrance Crystal.
Right now, most of the things in the store are the remaining items that her daughter has taken out.
'Incredible!' Cyril became quite excited after hearing the story behind this…
"Thank you for telling me this… I'm willing to purchase this item… As a matter of fact, I would like to buy a bit more if you can tell me who managed to get the Entrance Crystal."
Cyril negotiated again.
As far as he knows, Elves likes nature and the Tree of Life is something that probably the Elves are interested in.
In short, he wanted to meet some elves!
This is one of her plans to find the Tree of Life aside from randomly entering a top-class Arcane World to search for clues.
"Whoa~ It seems that these items really interest you."
The old lady noticed the light in his eyes as she smiled at him.
"T-that's right… I can't tell you a lot but I like to see the creator of these items."
"Fine then… It is purchased by a representative of Aeson Company…" The old lady said as she didn't sign any disclosure agreement whatsoever when she sold the Crystal. As a matter of fact, she wanted to let everyone know that she no longer possess it.
"Aeson?" Cyril immediately tried to recall that name and realized that it is a car manufacturer company.
If he remembers it correctly, they are the sponsors of Northern Badger Guild!
"Thank you for letting me know!"
Cyril then purchased a total of three normal items of elves within the shop. An old canteen, a broken dagger, and a plate…
Everything costs about 21 thousand Ains which is extremely expensive at this point. Nevertheless, he has millions on his account thanks to the potions that he sold so he wasn't worried at all.
In the meantime, he decided to end his shopping in the tower as he no longer find anything that could possibly help an S-Rank like him to grow.
For now, he wanted to confirm whether the Aeson Company still has the Crystal or if it was actually given to the guild they are supporting.
'Sir Xagan… Is there something wrong?' Cyril asked as he was about to leave the tower.
He saw the demon looking at a specific place curiously. Though he always acts like this, Cyril felt something different this time.
'Nothing, contractor… It just seems that I'm not the only demon around here. Kekeke! Very interesting…'
The demon laughed which gave Cyril a chill…
'Another demon?!'
