"Your team?"
Cyril asked as he recalled the rules of the Association.
Inside the Association or even in the Guild, it is normal to have groups or teams whether they are official or not. In a game, they would normally call it a party.
Anyway, they all have to consider the skills of the Awakened and the precious Artifacts in their possession. There can't be a team filled with shieldmen or archers after all. They have to balance the team so whatever problems occur inside, they would be able to help each other.
However, Cyril was sure that he wouldn't be invited to any teams yet. Instead, the Association would first place him and other new guys in an Arcane World that the Awakened Association owned to hone their skills.
They can place them inside an undead world, goblin world, or any other weak magical creature's Arcane World to test their abilities.
Only after that would they normally get assigned to a team.
During his meeting with Valerie before, he was invited to join an Arcane World Exploration… It should be the controlled exploration to test his abilities.
They would basically clear an already explored Arcane World together with the fresh recruits in the past few weeks.
Well, they might even be waiting for a new Awakened that would sign a contract for them until now so the date was pushed to a week later.
'Do they lack B-Rank Awakened? Why is this guy in a hurry?' He thought.
Anyway, he looked at the Captain as he didn't want to immediately decide.
'Hmm… Since Captain Arvid is B-Rank, he must be a bit more trustworthy compared to my previous team captain.' Cyril mused.
After all, in his previous life, most of his exploration was being led by D-Rank Awakened or even worse, E-Rank Awakened.
Considering his past experiences, this B-Rank should be a better choice. Anyway, since he's a newbie, they wouldn't make him work to his death. He just has to ask now for more details from Valerie since he needed to clarify some things about this in the first place.
Click…
The door of the office opened as Valerie finally arrived. Because of this, Cyril was unable to reply to Captain Arvid.
"Huh? You're here, Captain Arvid?" She asked in surprise.
As she noticed Cyril's back, she immediately greeted him as well before glancing back at the captain.
"Well, it seems that you've already read Cyril's resume. He's really good, isn't he?"
"Haha! That's right. I want him in my team."
"Miss Valerie… I'm not that impressive. I still have a lot to learn." Cyril quickly replied. They must be referring to the report made by Terrence during the License Exam.
"Well… You're right… Anyway, I brought your License Card and your set of C-Rank Artifacts…"
Valerie said as she let someone in. Another employee of the Association came in and carried a box containing the C-Rank Artifacts.
Cyril couldn't help but feel excited. If he excludes the Paper Prison Artifact where he got his Demon, this will be the highest rank of Artifact in his possession!
On the other hand, the captain left his seat for Valerie and took the one beside Cyril. It seems that this is actually not his room after all.
As the box was placed on the table, Cyril finally had a glimpse at his new Artifacts.
Because of his more than a decade of experience, he easily recognized them.
They aren't Artifacts that were found randomly in an Arcane World but Artifacts that are created through the efforts of the finest crafters of the Association.
This is quite similar to his Runed Boomerang. The light armor, armguard, boots, and short sword in front of him were items that were also made using the Mystical Materials found in the Arcane World.
They weren't snatched from kobolds, elves, or other races at all.
"Wait, are these made using the Old Crafter's design?" Cyril asked after recognizing the simple yet sturdy design of the armor. This equipment is definitely one of the finest armors at this rank!
"Oh… So you know that legendary crafter? Hehe… You're right. Although we can't hire him, he sold several blueprints to the Association. Now, we can create these precious pieces of equipment." Captain Arvid said.
Valerie shook her head helplessly after hearing this. After all, Arvid's words don't contain the whole truth and she should be the one saying these things since she's in the management.
"Well, it's not like we can't hire the old man… He's just not taking any request for low-rank Artifacts unless it is completely new or complicated. He's busy creating a higher rank Artifact, after all."
Valerie explained.
The Old Crafter that was mentioned in their conversation is similar to the person Cyril is about to meet.
In his previous life, he really wanted to have one of the Old Crafter's creations. After all, their durability is very impressive and they can also be easily repaired. The man's creations were known to last for decades!
Of course, they are also better than the armors made by Elves but lower than the ones made by the Dwarves. This means that no one can doubt his skills!
Well, elves aren't that focused on creating armors anyway so it is natural that the Old Crafter can create something better. However, it was said that even the dwarves would acknowledge the Old Crafter's skills after they saw him several years from now.
Cyril continued looking at the items and saw the list inside the box.
[ C-Rank Combat Set ] x1
[ Ulf Light Armor – Modified C-Rank Artifact ]
[ Ulf Light Bracer – Modified C-Rank Artifact ]
[ Ulf Light Boots – Modified C-Rank Artifact ]
[ Ulf Short Sword – Modified C-Rank Artifact ]
The "Ulf" represents the Old Crafter's involvement in the product, it was either his creation or the blueprint that was used to create this was from him.
Of course, there is also a way to determine if the Old Crafter really made it himself.
Cyril then looked at the inside of the armor and as expected, he didn't find any mark indicating that it was personally made by the Old Crafter.
'Pfft~'
Captain Arvid couldn't help but laugh after he noticed what Cyril had just done there.
"Haha! There's no way that we'll give you the legendary crafter's original creation, you know?"
Cyril was embarrassed for a bit as Valerie scolded the captain.
