Chapter 92 - An Upgrade

Cody cursed and shouted incessantly. He's probably so frustrated now thinking that he has already gotten away from the police.

"I was robbed! Someone took my Artifacts! Find him!"

Cody wanted to cry as the police officers and the representative of the Awakened Association handcuffed him after placing a limiter on his body.

Unless Cody has the power of an S-Rank, he shouldn't be thinking of getting away soon.

"He's also a criminal! Find him as well! He should still be near!"

"Shut your mouth! You actually sent us in a different direction… You did really well giving us fake clues about your location." The officer said as he smacked the back of Cody's head.

On the other hand, the Association Representative appears to be interested as he asked Cody about this person.

"Tell me, who's the guy that put you to sleep? Did he target you while not recognizing you just like those petty robbers you met?"

"No! I think he knows me! He's wearing a white shirt! He's very handsome and has black hair! Hurry! He might still be here! He took all my things!"

Cody, the criminal, seems to be unaware of his current situation as he still wanted to deal a blow to Cyril.

Of course, Cyril didn't feel good even if he was called handsome by this criminal.

'Hmph… Try and find me then…'

After confirming that the grenades have been handled safely, Cyril continued using his Traceless Scarf and left the area. Of course, he already removed his white shirt and used a different shirt.

He didn't immediately go home as he decided to look around the city first to ensure that no one is tailing him.

Only after about two hours did he manage to his house at Forbes Park Subdivision in Versailles City.

It was already 8 in the evening when he arrived. Since he didn't bring a car, he can only walk after entering the Subdivision. Anyway, his house was only two blocks away from the entrance so it didn't take him long.

He was greeted by his Aunt who had just finished preparing dinner.

Cyril then told her about the gains of this exploration. He allowed her to consume two Arcanite Fruits while he only took one.

He first didn't want to take any but he was very curious about its taste instead of its effects.

It was delicious. The aroma was also heavenly… Though the effect was almost negligible with his S-Rank Aura, it was still a good experience for him.

After a while, Cyril was left alone inside his Crystal Room to properly appraise all the new items he currently has.

'This mask is really good… It can really change my appearance. Though my voice is still the same, it can make four different appearances.' Cyril was impressed as he play around with the white mask.

Since it has a limit of four different appearances, Cody decided to make four kinds of criminals as well to hide his identity.

Then, he checked the internet to see if there's any information about this mask… He almost gave up after searching for 20 mins but his effort bore some fruit as soon as he read a blog about the recent Auction in AC.

This code refers to Ascension City or in other terms, the Black Market world. There was an auction where this item was sold for only 160,000 Ains!

It was so cheap because the item appears to be sealed.

It was then called the Identity Shroud Mask after a Rank-A Appraiser Artifact was used on the item.

It seems to be an item capable of covering up the identity of the wearer but unfortunately, it is actually sealed, and no one could use it. Aside from that, it is just a Rank-D Artifact.

This is why it was only bought for such a low price within the black market. After all, an item that could not be used is nothing more than a decoration…

And anyone that would purchase these kinds of house decorations wouldn't come in the black market in the first place.

However, the blog didn't end with that. Outside the black market, the man who purchased it actually managed to unseal the item accidentally with his special item and revealed its Rank-C Aura! Since it happened in front of a crowd, the news was quite reliable.

Then because of this incident, it was now a rule to never sell a sealed Artifact for such a low price!

"Interesting. Sealed Artifacts? They weren't a huge thing before… I guess that guy was just lucky."

He placed the white mask on the table and took the copper-like stone that he got from the goblin smith.

He did his best to inspect it with his Aura again but unfortunately, he was still unable to remove the protective energy enveloped in its entire shape. Any form of physical attack is not reliable and if he used too much force, he might destroy the item.

Aside from that, he couldn't find any item online that looked like this stone.

"Is this actually a Sealed Artifact similar to the mask?" Cyril mused. He's unfamiliar with these things so he might have to ask for professional help.

He then thought of contacting Britta about it since he's also planning to resupply her with Lesser Healing Potion.

But as he was thinking of this, he felt an attraction force coming from the item and it was directed to the mask!

'What now?' Cyril didn't stop the item and even put them close together.

Then, to his surprise, the stone melted on the mask!

'This… I really lack too much knowledge… Ugh…' Cyril could only blame himself that he only knows low-level items and was completely clueless in these types of things!

He wrapped himself with his Aura to protect his body in case something went wrong. He then watched the entire melted stone dissolve and the previous white mask became a copper mask for a while before turning white again!

"This Aura… It became a Rank-A Artifact!"
