Chapter 99 - Bonnie's Plan

Bonnie just finished watering the plants in her new botanical garden.

Aside from her lifelace flowers used to create the Lesser Healing Potion, she has already collected a lot of herbs and plants that will allow her to concoct more types of potions.

As per Cyril's instruction, she focused on creating the Healing Potion but she also had to study the Weak Antidote and Night Vision Potion…

Cyril told her that these three would have a large demand someday… especially the Night Vision Potion as per his prediction.

She doesn't know why Cyril was so confident when he said this but it doesn't really matter to her. She enjoys making a potion and it makes her quite busy as well.

Unfortunately, these three potion recipes are all considered Grade 2 potions… So her success rate was only 30% at the moment, which is already considered really high as Cyril mentioned…

But she was still not satisfied with this after seeing so many raw materials being wasted by her failures. It became her goal to have 100% accuracy someday!

Of course, she probably needs several months to increase her success rate unless she discovered some trick on how to improve herself quickly.

Luckily, all the ingredients were still inexpensive since there's an abundant supply but lacking alchemists who are interested in potion-making.

"Meow~"

Bonnie looked behind her and noticed the plump female black cat with the red right eye and purple left eye.

This cat came out together with Cyril inside one of his Arcane World.

"Magenta, are you hungry?" Bonnie asked.

She knows that any new things coming out of the Arcane World has to be studied by the Awakened Association. After all, it could bring potential danger to the world.

However, she trusts Cyril's decision about this so she just thought of this cat as a normal pet that they've adopted. Anyway, she looks so adorable and most of the time, the cat is just sleeping and looks so harmless.

"Meow~ Meow~"

The cat answered but she's shaking her head. Bonnie was amused by this as she realized that the cat could somehow understand what she's saying.

"Do you need something?" Bonnie asked curiously.

The cat no longer answered as she moved elsewhere and looked at Bonnie for a moment. It seems that Magenta wanted her to be followed.

Bonnie decided to see that the cat wanted to show her and walked with her. Then, she noticed that they arrived in front of a flowering shrub.

"This is Scrambled Poke Root. Do you want to eat some of its berries?" Bonnie carefully asked.

It seems that the cat is asking permission to eat the berries growing from the shrub. This Scrambled Poke Root is also from the plant dealer working for the Awakened Association.

Right now, the known effects of its berries were to induce drowsiness and nothing else. It wasn't even that effective, to be honest.

The only way to make it really useful is to apply it as the main ingredient for Sleep Inducing Potion…

Meow~ Meow~

Magenta seems to be happy after hearing her…

Bonnie bought five shrubs of his Scrambled Poke Root… If she considered the cat's appetite, it shouldn't be able to eat that much. But just in case, she still decided to limit her.

"All the berries on this single plant are yours… I won't give you the other, so eat them sparingly."

Bonnie decided to give a pot of poke root to Magenta as it seems that she really likes it.

Meow~

The black cat no longer hesitated as she ate several berries before finding a good place to nap…

Bonnie could only smile at this as she returned to study the recipes.

She entered her 'Laboratory', a room that was made for the sole purpose of creating potions. Cyril arranged this for her so she can focus on making potions.

He said that the work environment is really important after all.

'Right, Cyril also mentioned that there should be Artifacts that could help me create potion easily… Though he has already purchased all the best materials for concocting, they are all modern equipment… I should try looking at the Marketplace online as well.' Bonnie recalled Cyril's words as she quickly checked the online market for the Awakened.

She looked for a long while but didn't find anything related to potion-making at all.

'Ugh… Are they too rare? Should I also consider going to the black market?'

As soon as she thought of this, she quickly shook her head as she realized that it's too dangerous for her. Unlike Cyril who is a B-Rank Awakened, she's only a pitiful F-Rank and no one would take her seriously in such a place.

As she was about to give up, she suddenly noticed something…

Meddus Paramount's 3rd Annual Auction!

Apparently, there will be a large auction that will be facilitated at the Auction Hall of Staffordshire Hotel here in Versailles City!

The Meddus Paramount is currently the largest pharmaceutical company in the country!

'Ugh… Only Rank-C or higher can attend?'

Bonnie can't really complain since this is a gathering of the big shots… The people attending this kind of auction are probably those powerful Awakened or the backbone of this country.

Nevertheless, she noticed that she can just tell this to Cyril so she can go with him instead. Who knows, they might find something valuable in this kind of huge auction…

With this in mind, she postponed studying other potions for now and only created as much lesser healing potions as she can so they can earn more money for the auction.

Anyway, it will still be held on the first day of the coming month so they still have some time to gather enough money…

'Cyril is obviously not interested in low-rank Artifacts… Hmm… Perhaps we can find an Entrance Crystal being sold there as well… If that's the case, I need more money…'

Bonnie made up her mind. She knows that her nephew is very interested in collecting these purple crystals so she'll try her best to help him…
