Cyril then heard from Princess Ava about their history living here on the island.
Princess Ava and her retainers had actually arrived here after fleeing from the mainland which was now ravaged by the Ogre Clan.
Unfortunately, after the hundred-year war between the Ogre and the Elves, the Ogres became the victors and claimed the vast land.
The Elven Cities that were previously prosperous have been completely destroyed and decimated by the unreasonable race.
She doesn't know whether there are more survivors but she first has to worry about the people relying on her. She didn't escape alone and she was with a single warship and three civilian ships when they arrived on this island after navigating the sea for almost a month.
This had all happened about 20 years ago already. They created eight small towns here to survive as they learned how to run a civilization.
"Incredible… So there really is another land here?" Cyril muttered after hearing the Princess' words.
"That's right. However, going back is already impossible even with the runes and elemental magic that we know. The current of water is not allowing us and there are also several large sea creatures surrounding this place."
"I see… Perhaps there's another Entrance Crystal that would connect me to that land?" Cyril guessed as he already knows that there really are cases that other Entrance Crystals can bring you to the same Arcane World but on a different spot.
Though it is rare, it wasn't impossible in the first place.
Anyway, Cyril looked at the necklace that was given by Princess Ava. What caught his attention was the pendant made of red wood. It is light and it has a very good aroma…
'What a fragrant necklace--Eh? Am I smelling the necklace or…' Cyril then looked at where the pendant was previously resting.
Cyril awkwardly smiled as he almost sniffed the necklace that is giving such a wonderful fragrance. Anyway, he decided to ask Xagan about the necklace.
'How much for the secrets of this Necklace? I want to know whether it could lead me to the Elf King…'
"It is 24 days, Contractor… Deal?"
'No deal. The prices here are expensive. So when we go outside, it might be less expensive, right?'
"Mhmm… But you have to remember that the Elf King and Queen are possibly here in the Arcane World and not outside, right? I'm pretty sure you know how my Searching Skill works…"
Xagan replied after noticing that Cyril wanted to save some of his remaining days again.
'You're right… But that's only for searching the King and Queen. I'm only asking whether this necklace could lead me to them… Ugh! Don't think of tricking me like that… I'm being extra careful with my words every time I make a deal, you know?'
Cyril responded which made the demon speechless.
"Alright… I will keep this necklace and see what I can do with it… As for my plan to bring you all outside, it might take a few more years to be possible, is that alright?"
"There's no problem with that… We can live for more than 800 years… I just want a little bit of guarantee that you'll keep your word, Cyril." Princess Ava said as she looked into his eyes.
"Of course… If you have any means of binding me into a contract, we can do it. If not, I can also help you guys with dealing with the Evil Creatures that are originally living here on the island." Cyril said with a knowing smile.
The elves were shocked at first but after thinking about it, it wouldn't really be that hard to guess considering how they've been trying to acquire tons of Holy Attributed Artifacts.
After all, there are only a few cases where Holy Attribute is being required.
The Princess remained silent while Druindar couldn't help but doubt Cyril for a bit.
"Can you really help us against them? They aren't just small fries like goblins or orcs… These evil creatures seem to have come from Hell… We can only keep them at bay with our Runes and Arrays… If not for the Holy Artifacts, we would never think of even attacking them proactively and lessen their number."
As a commander of a hundred Elven Warriors, Druindar is very much aware of the strength of the evil creatures that were living on the northern side of the island.
Actually, from the eight towns that they've built within these two decades, two of them can be called a fortress to hold off these creatures.
"Yes… I'm at least capable of doing what I said. So, how about it?" Cyril said as he pocketed the necklace.
He's willing to help the Elves since he's clearly aware that humans like him can never achieve a higher rank in creating Offensive or Defensive Arrays.
Once he managed to pull them outside, he will definitely make them work for him for a while to create a powerful stronghold for himself. This is so that when the Abyssal Beasts started roaming the world, he would have a higher chance to protect himself and his loved ones…
"Alright, let's see what you can do, Sir Cyril."
Although Druindar didn't see him in action yet, he was still respectful in front of Cyril since he would never say such words with confidence.
It took them about an hour to arrive at Kyfhil, the eighth Elven Town on the island.
Compared to the other towns, Kyfhil has fortified wooden walls and Cyril could feel the numerous arrays engraved on it. With this level, he believes that even the advanced weapons of humanity wouldn't easily breach such magical defense.
"It's awesome, right? If you've seen the defenses in our city at the mainland… You would be more surprised… They are extremely strong and not even dragons could easily destroy them…"
'Oh? Then how did the Ogre Clan manage to ravage your cities then?' Cyril wanted to ask but he felt that it might be rude to do so… He decided to keep his silence as there must be some kind of story on how did their City Walls got destroyed by the ogres.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
As Cyril and his group were about to enter the town, they heard several rings of a bell signaling the arrival of the Evil Creatures!
