Chapter 137 - Special Task Force ( 1 )

Cyril looked at the window and saw all the commotion.

The appearance of the Awakened Special Task Force truly surprised him as well. He had no idea what's going on.

'Hmm… This is a good opportunity I guess.' Cyril thought after noticing the group of Elite Awakened from the Guild.

The guild truly brought their main force to meet the ASTF which is a natural reaction. After all, there's a lot of people watching them and they can't appear too weak in front of the police force.

They're thinking that there's some kind of misunderstanding that they have to clear up at all costs.

Of course, Cyril also thought that there's indeed criminal hiding within the guild.

"Well, it's not like this is my problem. I should use this opportunity to finish this. Selma, continue leading the way."

"Yes… However, I think I recall that one guy over there… He seemed to be following us as soon as we left the train station."

Selma's words dumbfounded Cyril. He didn't notice this at all.

"Magenta… Do you know anything about this?"

Outside the Guild's territory, the head of the ASTF walked forward and confronted the old A-Rank Awakened.

"Old Huan, I think you should already retire. You're no longer managing your guild properly…" The tall and fully armed officer from the Task Force approached the A-Rank Awakened.

He then took off his hat to clearly show his face to the old man.

"Ho~ So, it's you, officer Jacques… No wonder you're still a Sergeant."

The old man replied showing how they seem to know each other. However, the Awakened on both sides didn't ease up at all.

"Hmph… If I catch the criminals hiding in your guild, then I will be promoted. Don't worry about it." Jacques replied and smiled for a bit.

"Criminals?" The old A-Rank frowned. He's confused about this but since the Task Force said it and they have surrounded their base, he assumes that there's already proof of evidence to confirm it.

"Who are they?! Tell me!"

He can't believe that someone within his guild would dare to commit crimes to the point that it even alerted the nation's special forces!

This will surely affect the reputation of his guild!

He has to lessen the backlash about this! He had to cooperate and ensure that his guild has nothing to do about the actions of the criminals! Or else, the Teutonic Knights Guild would be over!

"Hmph… We're unsure of their names. For now, we call them The Psychics. We're unsure of their numbers. However, there should be a couple of them now inside your building." Jacques said as he looked at the building behind Old Huan.

The latter wanted to ask why they call them the Psychic but it's not important at the moment.

"Since you don't know their names, it would be difficult to cooperate. You should at least let me know what they look like."

Upon hearing this, Jacques called someone and showed the portrait of a masked woman. It's difficult to identify the woman so Old Huan didn't say too much.

"What kind of crime was committed?" The old man asked calmly.

"She's a serial killer. All her victims had their brains and eyes fried. My men called her or perhaps her group The Psychic. Aside from that, there are no traces of other people touching their bodies at all. There are no signs of struggling which is really weird."

Jacques explained while lowering his voice. He knows Old Huan so he's sure that he wasn't involved in this. Recently, his guild recruited tons of Awakened to explore their newly found Arcane World… The criminal probably used this opportunity to blend in here so they will appear like they are living the normal lives of Arcane Explorers.

"Tsk! So that's why you call them psychics. Just what kind of Artifact are they using?"

"It's still unknown… Anyway, can we continue our operation now? We found the woman together with another unknown person. We're unsure if this person is another victim or her accomplice, however, we will soon know about it. They can no longer escape after we set up our Traps."

Jacques said as he signaled to his men to get ready. As for the innocent people inside, they would just warn them not to ask suspiciously during the operation.

"If possible, my elite team wanted to observe your operation. We can protect ourselves if need be." Old Huan suggested which was approved by the officer…

Soon, a group of about 20 people entered the building while the other members of the Task Force remained outside to ensure that no one would be able to escape!
