Chapter 172 - Safe

The two decided to move out of the city.

It is too dangerous for them to stay in the city where two large guilds are constantly looking for them.

Luckily, after the failed ambush at the hotel, the guild seemed to have ceased chasing them.

This is the first time Asta showed such a genuine expression. She looks so happy as she started explaining everything to Cyril.

She's no longer wearing Cyril's clothes as they bought some of their necessities a while ago like clothes and other stuff.

Cyril smiled after hearing her offer. He can also make a request to the Old Crafter if he wanted to. However, he didn't say it to Asta as he changed the topic instead.

Asta complained as she held her necklace.

Then, just like what they planned before. They decided to just escape instead of defending a certain place. They do not have the energy for a long-drawn-out battle after all.

Because of that, she can only think that something is assisting Cyril secretly. Nevertheless, she found her explanation still full of holes.

During this time, the two spent most of their time running away while waiting for their rescue.

His Elven Boots finally gave in. It reaches zero durability after several usages which is such a shame. Cyril could only sigh in regret as he made sure to have Asta compensate him for this.

Luckily, Magenta was able to secretly kill their pursuers by spending most of her reserved energy. This allowed them to have an easier time fleeing from the others.

Anyway, he learned from Asta that these people are involved with human trafficking and many atrocious acts. With that in mind, he no longer hesitated to give such an order. Perhaps because of his actions, Aeon Flux would have a harder time gathering humans for her experimentation.

Time quickly passed and the two finally arrived in an abandoned school.

This is the 5th extraction point that the Silent Crawler Guild arranged to take them out of this country. Unfortunately, the four other spots have been occupied by the enemies already or perhaps, too far from their current location.

Cyril and Asta waited for a while nervously. If they were still spotted here, they have no choice but to run away again.

Luckily, they seemed to have arrived in time.

"You're late!"

A deep male voice suddenly greeted them as soon as they entered the abandoned school. Cyril looked around to find the person who just shouted at them but didn't see anyone.

"Kendel!"

Asta shouted in delight as she looked around. She seemed to have recognized the voice so Cyril lowered his guard a bit.

Just like what Asta just said, the man who was waiting for them was indeed Kendel Zinkas. The other known S-Rank Awakened of the Silent Crawler Guild.

Unlike the common features of the people from Veprus, this guy seemed to be a foreigner. He has a huge build and black skin. He doesn't have hair even an eyebrow which appears quite intimidating as the man slowly appeared from the shadows and walked in front of the two.

"You're Cyril Vermont. Thank you for helping Asta survive up until now. We have truly miscalculated our target's influence."

Kendel said as he observed Cyril from head to toe.

His eyes stopped at Cyril's waist where Magenta is currently coiled.

Cyril stiffened for a moment afraid that the man will realize that he is working with a demon!

Though he believes that Magenta's stealth skill is one of the best he had ever seen, there might still be another S-Rank Awakened capable of seeing through her disguise by using a special Artifact!
