Chapter 195 - Benefits

"Have a seat so you guys can have a look…" Temis said as he glanced at the two.

As his eyes found Amaris, he squinted for a moment before nodding his head.

He didn't ask their names at all and it was enough for him to know that they are from the Timeless Artifact and Alchemy Store. Cyril found it quite refreshing since he doesn't need to introduce himself but he felt that this person's gaze is unnatural.

Cyril and Amaris took a seat before he looked at the three items on the table and found them coated with unknown energy.

It appears to be a type of protection but this is the first time he had seen this so he wasn't sure. Anyway, Temis seem to be ignoring the energy coated on it and didn't mention it all. It must be a harmless thing.

However, he still looked at Amaris to have her pick them up.

Amaris nodded silently.

The Demoness understood as she glanced at the book, badge, and a feather at the table. These are the three items the administrator brought out.

She picked up the black book first and opened it in front of the two. She didn't experience any issues at all as the unknown energy just vanished after being touched.

It seems like it was just some remnant energy that came from the Spatial Bag.

'However, my spatial bag doesn't have that kind of effect... I wonder what that is.' Cyril mused as he looked at the book.

The black book was designed with sharp teeth on its corner and it doesn't have a title on it, they have to open it to know what kind of content it has.

As soon as Amaris flipped the front cover of the book, Cyril realized that it was an Artifact!

"Hmm… An Appraiser Book?" Cyril asked in surprise. He never thought of having this item at all since he knows how difficult it is to acquire such a thing. He didn't expect that he could actually get this in this secretive organization.

"That's correct. With this Rank-A Artifact, you can appraise any Artifacts except for Rank-S even if you don't touch them. You just have to get near the object and activate the book while targeting the Artifact you wanted to appraise."

Temis said but he didn't dare to show how it's done.

Temis just opened the scroll he was previously reading before to pass the time while Cyril and Amaris are observing the items.

"This is very convenient. I didn't expect to have these." Cyril was grateful as he carefully check the book.

"That's true. We are controlling the Appraiser Books after all. We don't want everyone to have this item as it would destroy the business of other companies supporting us. However, your contribution is very valuable so we don't mind sharing it with you."

Cyril smiled helplessly after hearing the man's explanation. So the Appraisal Business is indeed controlled by the rich people who wanted to milk the Awakened.

'Eh? There are already records listed?' Cyril thought after flipping the pages.

"Hmmm... Is there a limit of usage?" Cyril then asked the administrator.

"Yes. There are 150 pages there. So a total of 300 Artifacts or items can be recorded there. However, it has been used before and has 4 items listed already."

"That's fine… Anyway, this makes sense since the Appraisal costs a lot of money. I've been wondering about this but now I know that it's because of the limited pages, huh." Cyril nodded and signaled Amaris to check the second item, the gray badge engraved with the logo of the Stone Tower.

"It has a Terminal Array. It's connected to something." Amaris muttered after checking the badge. If she wanted to know where it is connected it would still take some time so it's better to ask the administrator in front of them.

"Good observation young lady. That badge is connected to five facilities here in the Tower. As long as you have that badge, you can freely use them."

"Five facilities? What are those?" Cyril curiously asked. This is the benefit that he wanted to hear.

"The Library, the Training Room, the Alchemy Laboratory, the Workshop, and finally, the Beast Laboratory..."

Temis then gave a brief introduction about the five facilities.

The Library basically contains normal books like the history of another intelligent race, their literature, or even for entertainment. Nevertheless, there are also book containing various information about the Arcane World including the magical items, flora and fauna, and other things that can be found inside.

What's even more interesting is that in the second Library, there are actually grimoires or spellbooks inside.

However, just like what Cyril had expected, no one could achieve a level higher than Grade 1 Spells. They are currently impractical and it's better to use the powers of the Artifacts to not waste any energy at all. This will continue even in the future and the few people who managed to surpass it can be counted on one hand.

Then, the Training Room can also be said to be an Artifact Testing room. It is a very sturdy room filled with layered Arrays to protect it from getting damaged.

The Alchemy Laboratory, on the other hand, is self-explainable but one thing to note is that there are only 5 Awakened who have been allowed to use this place freely and he will be the sixth Awakened, or rather, their store's representative is the sixth Awakened to be allowed here. If there are other members of the Union who wanted to use this high-level laboratory that was taken from a wizard, they would have to pay with money.

The Workshop is the place where the Blacksmiths or Artifact Crafters are working to create magical items. Cyril even heard that there are a couple of dwarves working there right now. Currently, they are capable of easily creating Rank-F to Rank-D Artifacts. About 40% chance success rate for Rank-C, and only 20% chance for Rank-B.

It is not that easy for them.

Finally, the Beast Laboratory is where they are studying dead or alive magical creatures brought to this Arcane World through special means. Temis didn't tell much about this laboratory but he felt that all kinds of experiments are being done there to fully understand these creatures.

Cyril felt a bit excited after knowing that he would be allowed to use the facilities mentioned!

No, even Bonnie would surely be excited to visit these places.

Nevertheless, he didn't forget to check the final item. This time, Cyril himself took the white feather.

"Hmm… This feather doesn't look like an Artifact. However…" Cyril's voice trailed as he can't figure it out. It doesn't seem like a useless item but he can't tell what use it has.

Seeing that Cyril can't figure it out, Temis decided to introduce the feather.

"It's a life-saving item. It seems that the higher-ups greatly value your life to give that item to you." Temis spoke without emotion.

He doesn't seem to be bothered by it. However, Cyril can tell that this person wanted this feather as well.

"A life-saving item?"

"Yes… Just like its name, if your life is in danger, that will help you." Temis said as he took one last glance at the feather.

Anyway, Temis is probably unaware that he's an S-Rank Awakened. If he knew about it, he wouldn't be curious why they are investing in him and wanted him to have such a valuable item.

"This is great. I would like to check them later. In the meantime, can you tell me where I could purchase some decent armor?"

Since the Administrator has nothing more to say, Cyril decided to look around the city to gear himself in his next exploration to the Dragon World.

Well, he felt that his Lycan's Leather Armor is not enough for it. That armor has the ability to deflect magic so he really wanted it. However, against dragons, he's sure that the Lycan's special attribute would not be enough for that.

"If you have your materials, you can request it to the dwarves at the Workshop. They wouldn't charge that high if you are providing them with everything. If you don't have the materials for the armor you're looking for, then you have to prepare a lot of money since all the items are very expensive. Anyway, you can check upstairs at the Arcane Store."

After thanking the administrator, Cyril and Amaris went to the third floor to check the Arcane Store. Apparently, the whole third floor is reserved at the store and Cyril finally realized how great this Union was!

There are numerous types of Artifacts displayed from equipment to weapons... From Rank-F to Rank-B and there are even 10 or so Low-Class Arcane World being sold!

He had never thought that there is such luxury here in the store and he was completely unaware of this in his previous life.

Nevertheless, Cyril knows that he can't just waste their hard-earned money so he had to focus on finding a decent armor.

Luckily, he managed to find an armor that would surely suit him when facing a dragon, the Elven Light Armor made of the Refined Moonstone!
