Chapter 205 - Noble Vampire ( 1 )

Bonnie wasn't sure about the population of Flushdenn City. However, she knows that 10,000 is not a small number at all!

'Just how strong are these Vampires?' Bonnie wanted to ask Vanessa but she knows that asking her about this would be futile. She's not an Arcane Explorer or someone who could help on the battlefield anyway.

She can only guarantee Vanessa that she'll make more potions to help with the recovery of the injured.

After her call, she informed Myrtle about Vanessa's plan as she went to her laboratory to concoct more potions.

Since the house was filled with Array Formation, she can fully relax here and just think of making a potion.

The Grenade Launchers and Machine Guns used by the Army created chaos amid the Vampires and heavily injured them.

Unfortunately, the Vampires have a very strong vitality that putting a hole in their bodies was not enough to kill them. They would just use their blood magic to recover and kill more humans to replenish their lost blood.

It was an unending cycle that can only be stopped if the Vampires lost their source of blood or they were pulverized to the point that they can't regenerate themselves.

They were quite an annoying enemy and the soldiers are starting to get pressured. They have abundant ammunition but it's not unlimited after all.

"Ahh… What a mess. How can we defeat all these Vampires? They aren't even being affected by the sunlight! Isn't this cheating?" A gorgeous lady in her twenties arrived on top of a clock tower at the outer edge of the city.

She's together with a robust man who was holding a large battle axe as his main weapon.

"Hmm… This will be difficult they seem to have gained protection against sunlight… We're also both good at single target skills and our crowd control skills are terrible. How should we proceed about this?" The man was unable to decide after seeing the thousand of Vampire lurking around the City.

He can also feel the presence of Noble Rank Vampires which are all just watching as if they are trying to measure the strength of the Awakened Teams and Soldiers fighting against their lackeys.

They are Asta and Kendel from the Silent Crawler Guild. It was a good thing that they have canceled their plan to explore a certain Arcane World. If not, it would be too late for them to help in this crisis.

"Should we target those higher ranked Vampires? Or should we help in cleaning up those Thralls and Vampire Knights? There's just too many of them." Asta asked as she found a group of ten Vampire Barons staying close with each other.

Kendel looked at the road where these Vampires are currently standing while observing the buildings and other infrastructures. It seems that they were quite surprised at the sight and observing them carefully.

Well, from where they have come from, there are probably no skyscrapers like the ones in the city so it wouldn't be that surprising.

"Let's just clean up the Thralls first. They seem to be heading to another shelter. We need to focus on lessening the casualties."

"Are you sure? The element of surprise will be lost if we move now.'

"I'm sure, Asta. Let's go." Kendel said as he jumps down the tower. Asta decided to just follow him since Kendel has the strongest attacking force. Although she's also strong, she knows that the Vampire's regenerative ability isn't something she could easily deal with.

"Fine… Let me handle the weaker ones then." She replied as she held her Necklace and activated one of its abilities to carry her or allow her body to levitate. It's not a practical ability but thanks to this Levitation Skill, she's no longer afraid of heights.

On the other hand, Kendel's battle axe suddenly glowed red as if it's about to explode.

'Phoenix's Cry right off the bat?!' Asta complained as she put up her defense.

Boom!

As soon as Kendel dropped to the ground, he smashed his axe on the cement road and it was followed by a huge explosion disrupting everyone's battle. It created a powerful earthquake that affected both sides!

Aahhh!

The soldiers and civilians that were still stuck in the place were caught off guard by the sudden shockwave created by that strike.

As for the Vampires, it seems to have a special effect as the shockwave tore their skins and pushed them away…

"Hmph! If the sunlight is not doing its job. I guess we just have to strike them until they can no longer regenerate."

Kendel muttered as he made his own plan to defeat the Vampires. Nevertheless, he knows that he can probably continue doing this again a couple of hundred Thralls or Vampire Knights but there was no way he would have enough Aura to accomplish more. If he emptied his Aura in the midst of the Vampires, then he would sure perish here.

He looked at Asta who started slicing the Thralls' necks with her swift dagger skills and agile foot technique.

'That looks more effective than my method… I don't think she's consuming a lot of Aura that way…' Kendel commented as he started fighting against the Vampire who started standing up after receiving his first wave of attack.

This is their combat style which is really not that well against a crowd.

At the moment, they can only ignore the injured soldiers and civilians since the best help they could give is to attract most of the vampires away from them.

The soldiers and other Awakened Team seem to have understood and used this opportunity to call for backup and slowly retreat while covering the civilians away from the Vampire crowd.

Unfortunately, since the city is quite huge and the vampires are everywhere, the 5 or so Attack Helicopters couldn't possibly cover everyone's retreat…

Boom!

A huge building not too far from them suddenly collapsed as red blood energy started eating up the whole area…

"That's Mass Blood Sacrifice! What?!" Asta was surprised after seeing the gathering of Blood Magic not too far from them.

However, what truly surprised her was that it is actually happening to two other places as well!

Three Mass Blood Sacrifice!

Based on their intel, the Mass Blood Sacrifice requires 10,000 lives to activate!

This means that the casualty within the city had already reached this much!

Aside from that, the Vampires are still everywhere catching humans who were still unable to find a place to hide… No! Even if they are able to hide, there was no way that Vampires who are very sensitive to the smell of humans would miss them.

It means that the only way to escape from them is to move far away from them.

This is not going well as I expected.

"Tsk… We're going to die here as well at this rate." Kendel said after seeing such a massive gathering of Blood Energy. Even the nearby buildings started getting corroded as they started to collapse.

Asta recognized the danger as well. They were just too unprepared to fight against the Vampires. They do not have Holy Artifacts or Blessed Items as well.

They were just sent here immediately as part of the Quick Response Team…

"Should we fall back for now?" Asta asked but she looked at the struggling soldiers and civilians who were still trying to move away. Because Flushdenn is a highly urbanized city, there were many tall buildings here, and perhaps the massive flow of people going out was too much that the evacuation has been delayed by a lot. Based on their calculation, their escape has been slower by about 20 minutes than they have expected.

Well, considering the massive casualties, these people were a bit lucky to survive up until now.

"Haa~ Even if we want to escape, I don't think it's still possible… Look." Kendel suddenly said as he looked to his left.

There, a robed Vampire is approaching them… The other Thralls and Vampire Knights who were planning to ambush them stopped on their tracks after seeing the presence of the Vampire.

"A Vampire Lord?" Asta asked in dismay.

"Haha! We're not that strong enough to face a Vampire Lord… Perhaps a Baron or Viscount."

Kendel corrected as he pointed his axe at the sinister Vampire closing on them. There was no way to tell the ranks of the Noble Vampires unless they showed their strength or mentioned it themselves.

"Be careful… There are no Thralls or Vampire Knights but he definitely has Familiars lurking around… He would surely summon them later." Kendel reminded.

"Got it… However, killing this one should help us a lot, right?"

"Of course… Killing one Noble is like killing a hundred Vampire Knight."

"That's good to hear."

Without wasting any more words, Asta pounced towards the Noble Vampire and activated a couple of her skills.

It is her boots and dagger's abilities!

Kendel didn't just watch as he created another shockwave to ensure that no one would be able to assist the Vampire in a few seconds.

He then charged forward as well to assist Asta.

"Gahaha!" The Noble Vampire laughed after seeing them attack. It was followed by a burst of sinister energy coming from his body.

Suddenly, the Vampire's surroundings turned red with a malicious aura…

"Blood Mist!" Asta and Kendel recognized the skill as they immediately stopped in their tracks.
