Chapter 214 - Another

Cyril exclaimed in shock after realizing the huge number of remaining Vampire Knights. He didn't even target the Noble Vampires, Thralls, and the Familiars that were left!

"Are they waiting for something? Why are they hiding?" Cyril felt something weird about this situation.

The Vampire Knights were perhaps far away or deep underground where his Domain couldn't reach. However, with such a commotion happening and the Vampire Prince being targeted, they should already be moving to protect him.

However, the Vampire Knights remained inactive even after all of this.

"Who knows? They can be waiting for the night to come since they are at disadvantage right now. They can also be planning to bait someone out. Who knows? You can just kill all of them after spending three years." Xagan gave possible reasons and it indeed makes sense so Cyril just nodded his head.

"Three years… Alright, that should be fine. I'm sure that the other shelters are also being targeted. It's better to kill them all now before it's too late."

They must've been so surprised seeing their fellow vampires suddenly die like that.

"Impressive… Demonic powers are really awesome at this…"

Cyril praised Xagan but he immediately recalled that Xagan can also turn against humans. If that happens, he can't imagine who would be capable of stopping Xagan.

'Ugh… Should I look for an exorcist? No, perhaps an Angel?'

Cyril mused as he doesn't really know what to do with Xagan. Perhaps before his death, he might consider trapping all the demons he freed together with him and disappear together inside a collapsing Arcane World.

If not, he can consider looking for the Arcane World who provided all the Holy Artifacts they're using and ask them to exorcise the Demon in his body.

Melody called her little sister after seeing each other again. As a B-Rank Awakened of the Association, she had been assigned to various missions and was only allowed to rest after four days.

She went to various rescue operations and guarded some key places to ensure that the Vampires remained within the city.

Because of this, she probably earned a year's worth of compensation since she responded to such a dangerous mission that could lead to her death. She even heard that many B-Rank and A-Rank Awakened declined to participate here so she's guaranteed to receive multiple rewards later on.

"Yes… I'm alright, Karen. I think I will be on a vacation for a while because of this." Melody spoke after calming down.

"Vacation? You? My workaholic sister? I even thought that you'll be taking more dangerous missions after this…"

Karen said with a teasing tone as she knows how frugal her older sister was.

Melody would always save her money and rarely eat expensive food even though she can afford them as a B-Rank Awakened.

Well, this is all because of how they grew up without any parents to support them.

Melody chuckled after hearing Karen's accusive tone as she explained that Arcane Exploration will most likely be halted for a time as the Association will have to investigate the cause of the Outbreak and ensure that none of the other Arcane Worlds would create another crack where monsters can use to enter the human world. Even if they can't stop it, they should at least be ready for the next Outbreak.

This is partly the reason why not the entire military force was deployed to surround the city.

The announcement was repeated twice followed by instructions and news that the ASTF and all the elite Guilds have already arrived at the place and taken measures.

The two sighed in relief. Not just because the experts arrived early to contain the problem but also because they were only Goblins. Any Awakened can basically deal with them as long as you are capable of controlling your Aura to protect yourself and you have any sharp weapon you could use to fight.

Well, even if you are barehanded, as long as you can overpower a goblin or you know some fist or grappling technique, it would suffice against them.
