Chapter 98 - Alfheim#8 Leraye's Day Out

LERAYE'S POV:-

Looking around at the battleground of the Elves, I see hundreds of battles taking place in the arena and about thousands of Elves watching those matches. I observe the strength of those Elves for a few moments before a bored expression forms on my face…

'Weak…too weak. I thought since they have more mana they would use more destructive spells or something, but looking at them using utility spells mostly, all I can say is that it's disappointing.' I shake my head, thinking that before walking around to search if there is anyone strong enough to fight here.

'Maybe if it's not strong, then at least I can find someone interesting enough? Well, let's search for a few more minutes before going to Adventurer's Guild.'

After searching around for a few moments, I found a few people that caught my attention, but honestly, since my mood was mostly turned off from the previous disappointment, my will to fight any Elf kind of died for now.

I then turn back to find a few Elf women coming close to me, blushing and hiding behind each other.

"H-Hello…are you new here?" One of them asks me, blushing heavily enough to turn her entire face red before taking a few steps back.

'I knew I was missing something here. So it was this thing, huh? Maybe I should get a face mask to change my face back to a normal looking one.' I ponder over the thought, contemplating it as hard as I can, before sighing and realising I can't really do that.

'This face is something I must keep open to others or else someone who knows me from before I lost my memories won't recognize me at all.'

"Yeah, I am new here, but I prefer to be alone, though. Can you guys tell me if there is anyone strong enough to at least defeat a Ruby Rank adventurer on his own? I wanted to test my skill there," I ask them with a humble smile at which most of them faints with a blissful expression.

Ignoring them, I look at others who were blushing heavily, before the two of them jump at me with a crazy expression.

-Bang Bang

Kicking them away, I wipe my dress a few times as I look at them, unconscious, with a bright smile. Seriously, why do they even do this? As if it wasn't enough for them to block my way for no reason, now they are even jumping at me. Well, it's not as bad as what the Succubus does though. I wipe the sweat from my head and shrug my shoulders a little, as I recall back the days I used to travel in the Demon continent. Those days still send a chill down my spine…sigh but really…

'This crap never gets old, eh? Man, I am so annoyed at these actions now. Why do I even handle it and not just kill them? Oh! Yeah, I am with Morpheus now, plus I need to get strong enough to handle the King at least, so even less time to do this.' while I was thinking this, a hand tapped on my shoulder. I take out my scythe by reflex, but it is stopped by a sword and a familiar face comes into my vision.

"What were you thinking so deeply? I called you three times. Looks like you can't find a training partner either, so I was thinking of honing our skill by fighting each other for now," the person speaks with a slightly serious expression as he looks at me.

"Oh! That's a good idea, but Kaneto, why aren't there any strong people here? The strongest I saw was a Platinum Rank. Know anything about it?" I asked Kaneto something that bugged me for a while now.

Kaneto looks at me for a few moments before sighing and speaking, "I should have expected this from you. You see, Leraye, the difference between a Supreme Elf and a High Elf is quite big. A supreme Elf who is blessed by nature can take at least a 100 High Elves by himself. So, taking that difference into consideration, Alfheim created a separate battle ground for Supreme Elves and above," Kaneto explains as he sheathed his sword and looks at me, analysing if I understood or not. I nod at him for a few moments before I tilt my head in confusion as I ask,

"Then how come you are here?"

Clearly, he is stronger than anyone around here. I was here because I didn't know anything, but what about him? Why is he here?

Kaneto then sighs again before explaining, "I am here because I want to hone my pure swordsmanship to another level. Fighting against an enemy who is lower than you without using Aura is one way of getting stronger with the basics."

I observe him for a few moments before realising that it makes sense.' Maybe I should try that too. If it helps me get stronger, maybe I can defeat the King much faster..'

"Alright. For now, I will do the same. Fighting without Aura or Mana, but with pure skills and physical capabilities." I speak to Kaneto, who looks at me then nods before we both move to register ourselves for a fight. Since there was a betting system, I bet myself a 100 Gold coins while Kaneto did not bet any.

We then wait for a few more minutes before our number is called and we both move to the arena. Kaneto takes out his sword and takes his stance as he points his blade in my direction. I too take out my scythe and take a stance as I look at him.

The people in the seats observe the fight from a distance and I hear a few cheers of people in my direction, only to find the same girls cheering for me. I hear a 'tsk' from a few male audience members who seem to have taken side with Kaneto as they too began cheering for Kaneto.

The referee comes on the stage, then sets a small mana timer and then gets out of the stage. The timer shows a number,
