MORPEHUS' POV:-
After meeting with the Elf King, I reach back to my room where I find a green-haired, green-eyed elf waiting for me.
I start the time once again and look at him, knocking at the door with slight caution. Moving closer towards him, I notice him to be quite patient with his approach.
"Ummm...excuse me, are you the one who is going to escort me? Oh! Where are my manners? I am Morpheus Somnus. Nice to meet you, mister…" I speak with a humble expression as I look at him. Noticing me coming out of nowhere, he raises his guard for a few moments as the mana around us surges higher before registering the words in his mind that I just spoke.
He looks at me for a few moments before nodding at something, then speaking, "I am Cirdan. I am supposed to take you to the Heaven's Library. Is there anything you need to do before we leave?" He asks me with a curious gaze, as if trying to understand me. I feel a bit creeped out and take a step back to show my expression of disgust, at which he coughs twice before making an expressionless face.
"I would like to leave immediately," I say as I nod at him. He then starts moving in a certain direction and I follow him as well.
We moved outside the castle, sat on a cart pulled by a horse plus a bull like animal and a bit more muscular and with three horns.
As we travelled through the city, Cirdan kept looking at me now and then with eyes filled with curiosity.
"What is it? Just say it. You looking at me only makes me way more curious about it," I speak as I shrug a bit and look at him with a slight smile.
Honestly, I have a few guesses, but it would be better to hear it directly from his mouth. He looks at me with surprised eyes before coughing and speaking, "No, it's just that… I have been heavily warned to take special care of you, not only by the Prince but also from the King himself. So I was wondering what kind of person you are. Are you really a child or maybe you are someone special hiding your true identity? If you are really hiding your identity, then how are you hiding it, it's these sorts of questions that I am really curious about."
He is...surprisingly quite talkative. I really thought he would be one of those shut-ins who doesn't talk much.
'Or maybe he is like that, but when the right questions are asked, he will talk freely. Ummm...since we are talking about this topic let's elaborate it more,' I think and then look at him waiting for my response.
"I am not hiding my age, at the very least. As for why I am special, that is going to be revealed when I reach the Heaven's Library I guess. Though what conclusion did you come to?" I ask him with slight curiosity.
"Me? I didn't reach any specific conclusion, but I would like to treat you as someone equal to the King, but since you are like this right now, I mean like a kid right now. It's kinda difficult to think about how to deal with this. Sorry, I drifted from the topic a bit...as for your answer, it is quite simple. I don't care, no matter what or how you are, I have to treat you with the same respect. Although I want to know your secret, I don't think it's worth enough to mess with someone whom even His Majesty respects." He speaks with a thoughtful face as he observes me.
Our topic then slowly drifts to his profession and then to my liking and disliking, then another topic, then another before we end up reaching the Heaven's Library.
The heaven's Library was a massive tree with an entrance right in front of us. There were no windows, and it looked like a plain tree from the outside, albeit a humongous plain tree.
I get out of the cart and Cirdan follows me outside, then guides me inside the Library.
Inside the Library, what I saw made my mouth wide open. It wasn't what I was really expecting, to be honest.
There were…
"Pages…" I spoke as I looked at them. Yeah, pages. A lot of them...in fact, too many of them. There are no books here. Only pages flying all around us, which are recorded by the Elves who are studying and using a small sphere that is probably connected to the pages.
I then enhanced my senses to see that there are trillions of pages present alone on the first floor. I wonder how many more pages are present here, and did anyone ever finish reading any of it?
'I don't think so. Honestly, if someone really did that, then I might as well take down the person's name and deem him one of the most dangerous people around, if not the most dangerous.' A wry smile forms on my face as I think of that possibility.
I then turned to Cirdan, who was looking in a certain direction with a curious expression. Following his sight I saw Istan and Lia, along with 10 children who were standing with a nervous expression as they were observing the Library without turning their heads.
A smile forms on my face as I look at those children,
'So those are the ones whom I have to teach, huh? Well, not bad. Not bad at all. They do have a lot of potential.' I think as I move towards them along with Cirdan.
We then reach Istan and the kids, as they observe Cirdan with glittering eyes. Then looked at me for a few moments before turning their head back at Cirdan.
Istan and Lia then move towards us. Cirdan bows to them and steps aside. Istan then stands beside me as he introduces me.
"This is Morpheus Somnus."
I could hear their murmurs as they looked at me. Some of them were curious to know if I am going to study with them too, but then Istan spoke again.
"He will be your teacher for the next few months."
