AT THE AGE OF 8 YEARS.
LOCATION: THE SHIP WHERE THE DISASTER TOOK PLACE.
AETHER'S POV:-
Walking and observing the surroundings, I see various types of people are collected here and the only thing that came into my mouth after looking at them is,
"People have too much money to waste, huh?"
With an amused expression, carrying a black bag and wearing a plain black shirt paired with blue jeans, I observe them.
-Smack
Smacking me as hard as he can from the back, he looked at me with a smile on his face as he spoke.
"It's because of one of your friends, Clay, that you are on this huge ship enjoying this magnificent scene. Don't you dare go destroying this vacation with your boring philosophical talks"
I look at him and shake my head before I sigh and start walking towards the ship. Then I stop for a moment as I turn back and ask him,
"Where was my room again?"
He looks at me with an amused expression, then walks beside me and we move towards our room.
Enjoying the lavish interior of the ship, we finally enter our room and jump at the bed at once, throwing our bags away.
"Awaaaaahhh...This is heaven"
"Awaaaaahhh...This is heaven"
We both speak at the same time, then look at each other for a few moments before nodding.
I move to close the door while Clay moves to take out the brochure filled with all the necessary details of the ship.
I run back to him after closing the door and we start reading about the features of this ship.
The more we read, the more ideas we cooked, the more we thought about our 'ideas' the more we grinned. It is supposed to be our perfect vacation.
-poonnnnnnm
The ship sailed as we heard the siren going off.
We then looked at each other before starting to unpack everything one by one.
5 Days Later…
We enjoyed it like hell...enough to get scolded by the elders. Once...or maybe twice…
All right, all right, we got scolded 5 times.
Every 3 hours or so…
"That was awesome...I always love it when you just manipulate people into doing whatever you want," says Clay as he looks at me with amazement.
"What next? You are gonna bow to me?" I smirk at him, at which he proceeds to hit me, but I dodge and that started another small bout that ended in my win as usual.
"Damn you and your Aikido." he glares at me as he rubs his head.
'Even though you know both Judo and Taekwondo, I wonder why you always lose against me.' I think as I observe him.
-growl
Our stomach's growl as we realise that it is almost lunch time. We then dash towards the lunch point as fast as we can for no reason at all.
After reaching that lunch point...everything changed.
'Emotions off' I think as I turn off my emotions immediately. It's an ability of sorts I had ever since I was born. I can always do it. It allowed me to minimize my emotions to the point of erasing it, and the reason I used it this time was because of what I saw….
I saw the whole place dead silent as everyone was kneeling in front of some scattered white light. Something was wrong about this whole thing and it scared me to the point that I instinctively turned off my emotions.
I then looked at Clay, who was kneeling too along with everyone else, so I pretended to kneel too.
Somehow, I knew that it wasn't acting.
Then something happened and a few people among the guests started crying before a terrifying scream followed throughout the place.
Then...I saw the light getting dimmed and a child and 3 adults walking out of the light as they looked at the screaming man and started laughing. Then they looked at others and soon a few other guests started screaming too.Maybe they got bored or was it something else? They did not laugh this time but looked rather unamused. Then they turned to an old man and spoke something to him. It was inaudible to us. That old man started kneeling and begging that he cannot do it and please forgive him and his family. Unamused by his response, the 'child' stepped forward and did something to every member of his family as he touched their head before finally touching his head. Each and every member had a horrified look on their face.
Then the child moved towards a man and looked at him for a few moments before speaking, "not interesting." And then touching his head straight.
Vanishing from that place, he then appeared right in front of Clay.
He looked at him for a few moments before looking at me. Then he asked me…
"Kill them as brutally as possible."
After that, he kept looking at me for a response.
I must be really scared because I was sweating profusely and couldn't move. I then gradually turned to Clay, who had a horrified expression. He moved towards me, reached my ears, and spoke.
"If you don't do it. They are going to torture us till eternity." Then he moved back and said,
"Aether, kill us."
It...was too fast...what does he mean by 'till eternity'? What does he mean by 'kill us'?
But I knew...Even amidst this insanity, I knew that everything that has been happening around us is true.
So, I did what I thought was right. It wasn't an emotional decision, rather a rational one.
I moved towards the table and took the kitchen knife...then I moved towards Clay as slowly as I could. My hands and feet were shaking, my eyes were filled with tears. Was it a natural response of my body? I wonder what will happen if I turn my emotions back on...will I even turn them back on?
I stepped forward towards Clay but the 'child' came in front of me and then pointed at Clay's sister and Clay's sister started screaming like crazy. Knowing what he meant, I moved towards the young girl.
My hands were trembling non-stop, but I moved and then raised my hand, the one with the knife. The child was screaming in pain and I stabbed her neck, giving her a short death. Her eyes were relaxed at her death as she looked at me. Her soul...I don't know how, but her soul seemed to thank me for that particular moment.
Then another one started screaming beside me. It was Clay's mother.
"brutal," the 'child' spoke and I did so as I stabbed her diaphragm multiple times enough to suffocate her to death.
That 'child' laughed crazily at that scene as Clay's mother finally died with a smile on her face.
Then the father's turn came, and I was asked to do it more brutally once again. I saw his father's face begging me to kill him, which I did. His father, before he died, muttered a "thank you" before he finally died. The 'child' and his companions started laughing crazily at that.
Then they finally pointed to Clay. My feet stopped as I saw him smiling for a moment before he started screaming his lungs out. I moved forward one step at a time with all the strength I could muster.
It is a suffocating feeling. My head was hurting as pain started taking over me. Then I saw his eyes, which begged me to end his pain. I looked at him as I raised my knife and plunged it into his stomach...once...twice..thrice...over and over. Memories of our joyful and peaceful days started flooding my brain...and I continued plunging into his stomach. Then...finally I stopped and realised that he was dead. His soul...I did not feel it...I could not see it. Unlike other souls, I did not feel his soul this time.
I looked at the 'child' smiling crazily as he looked at me. Realising what he did, I tried my best to make a move against him, but my body failed to respond. Then the 'child' looked at everyone who was left on that ship and spoke something before they all burnt down to ashes and their souls were captured into a jar-like thing.
I observed the scene for a few moments before finally losing consciousness.
The next thing I knew was that I woke up in my room and it is said that I was found after 3 weeks of searching, even though I wondered how I was still alive after all that. Nobody was alive except me. I was the sole survivor. The cameras did not record anything, so a theory of 'psychopaths' was formed. There were other additions to explain everything that happened on the ship, too.
I heard it from my mother and a few other guests. My emotions were still off.
Then I turned my emotions on.
