Chapter 80 - 76 - Machinations (4)

[With Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury]

Cinder was looking over the city thinking about her plans when she was going to check the tablet to see if everything was working properly when her scroll started ringing and she could see that it wasn't Roman.

Cinder: 'He still hasn't contacted me yet about an update. Something must have happened.'

Cinder stood up while looking out the window thinking about her plans when she could see a large bright light on the outskirts of the city rising into the sky. A wave of heat flew across the area a large Grimm could be seen flying in the air.

The Grimm was 25 meters tall. It resembled Godzilla with bone-like plating on the muscle area of the Grimm. On the white plating all across its body, you could see some red line marking stretching across the bone plating.

It had a large bone plating on its ċhėst that had the appearance of another Grimm mask. The Grimm had a tail that was 12 meters long and luckily the Grimm wasn't within the city or else it could have caused great damage.

Some figures jumped out of the hole followed by a large swarm of Grimms of numerous types.

Cinder's eyes widened seeing the huge Grimm. Along with the Grimm, the sirens within the city and Beacon academy were blaring at full blast. Smoke could be seen from the area and a figure dash flying towards the Giant Grimm smashing it sending it tumbling backward. It swiveled with its tail swatting the figure out of the sky.

Cinder: "What the hell is that?!? There wasn't a Grimm like that when I say Salem. What is Roman doing that something like that is here? The plan isn't supposed to start for another week."

Cinder hit the answer buŧŧon on the scroll.

Cinder: "What is it?!"

Emerald was on the other side clearly panicking.

Emerald: "What are we supposed to do about that. I don't think we can deal with something like that."

Cinder: "Do what you can and make sure that you are seen by others so that they won't suspect you all about anything to come up. It seems like Shallot isn't planning on telling anyone about us so we will use that to our advantage."

[Earlier when Ruby was trying to call for help]

Jaune Arc is sleeping during the night inside JNPR's dorm room.

Jaune: "Waffles..."

Jaune suddenly wakes up to a call on his Scroll, with the ringtone "It's a Big Ursa!" playing.

Jaune: "Hello?"

Jaune hears noise for six seconds from Ruby's Scroll before the call ends.

Jaune: "Uh, Ruby?"

Later on, Team JNPR walks at dawn towards their Bullhead.

Pyrrha: "I'm sure they're fine. Shallot is there along with a professional Hunter."

Jaune: "You think? You're probably right."

Nora: "Probably a buŧŧ dial..."

Ren: "Team RWBYS has always performed exceptionally in the field. We should be focusing on our own mission."

Nora: "We're gonna be deputies!"

Jaune: "I just got this feeling... I don't know."

Pyrrha: "Jaune..."

Suddenly, alarms ring out as they see the city up in smoke and a large Grimm bigger than anything they had ever seen before.

Jaune: "We're changing our mission. Everyone on board!"

As the team heads toward their Bullhead, Jaune does a headcount.

Jaune: "Ren, we'll make it to that village another time. Take us into the city!"

As the Bullhead takes off, Mercury Black and Emerald Sustrai watch nearby.

Emerald: "You don't think..."

Mercury: "Sure looks like it."

Emerald: "That's still days away!"

Mercury: "So? What do we do?"

Emerald: "I'm calling Cinder."

[Back with Team RWBYS, Roman, Dr. Oobleck, the animals, and Grimm swarm]

The ravager was standing in front of the group along with the other Grimm rushing towards them to make it to the city that is behind them.

Shallot was knocked away and stopped himself in the air and slowed himself looking at the Giganti in front of him. He could see that black sludge-like material was coming from its bone plate from the tail that it attacked him with. Shallot rushed down in front of the group while thinking of the best way to deal with this.

He didn't see the droids that were down in the tunnel then heard another explosion beneath them and more rumbling. Shallot turned towards Dr. Oobleck.

Shallot: "Dr. Oobleck, I need you to contact any team that is nearby and have them guard the city. We are near the outskirts of the city of Vale and if the Grimm army gets in it will be devastating."

[Inside Ozpin's office]

The sound of a ringing scroll could be heard.

Ozpin pulled out his scroll seeing that it was Dr. Oobleck while looking out of the window looking at what was going on. While he was about to answer the scroll someone barged into the room. James Ironwood along with Glynda Goodwitch came inside. Ozpin seeing who it was answered the scroll.

Ozpin: "Yes Dr. Oobleck, I can see that things are not going as well as things should be."

Professor Ozpin was listening and then turned towards Glynda and James.

Ozpin: "James, grab all of your troops and head towards the outskirts of the city my student Shallot is dealing with the massive Grimm. We will need the number advantage to deal with a large number of Grimm that may try to get into the city.

Glynda makes sure that that the first years don't head out and tell the third years to also head towards the outskirts of the city while the second years are to provide help to the people who may be stuck in that area."

Glynda started heading out to get everything down while James was still standing there.

James Ironwood: "This is why I said that my units are necessary."

Ozpin looked at him before telling the rest of the conversation.

Ozpin: "James, the one behind this isn't Salem."

James Ironwood: "What! Who is behind this then."

Ozpin: "Dr. Merlot, and he is planning on targeting not only Vale but the other kingdoms also. Salem may not be our main concern anymore."

While Ruby and everyone were fighting the horde of Grimm that seemed to constantly come from the underground area a King Taitjitu came breaking through the ground of another area heading towards Ruby.

Before Ruby could turn and attack with her Crescent Rose the sound of thunder could be heard before a loud scream was followed.

Nora: "Nora Smash!"
