Chapter 90 - 85 - Boots On The Ground (1)

The ship had stopped and everyone who was dropping was ready for deployment. Jaune was the only one still slightly nervous remembering the test from when they first came to the academy. The airship had stopped and they had all gathered by the door hatch ready to jump out. Team RWBYS, Team JNPR, and Team CFVY landed and looked around at the forestry.

Shallot looked around thinking that the forest looked pretty nice.

Shallot: 'Even though the world is constantly in peril, it seems that there are a lot of beautiful locations in the world often not traveled to.'

The area they landed in seemed as if it was lived in previously a long time ago. There were some vases and some stone pillars standing tall and a decrepit stone path below them. The grass was tall showing that not many had come through this place.

Coco: "We need to check further in based on the reports so that we can find any clues."

Coco and her team were walking out in front since they were used to doing reconnaissance. missions. While she was walking forward Velvet was walking slowly towards the back near Shallot.

Velvet: "So you wanted to teach me how not to be dangerous around others while using the technique you use."

Shallot nodded his head while checking out her body making Velvet blush slightly but still waiting for his reply.

Shallot: "You had already managed to copy it before so I will teach you, Ruby, and Yang, how to use it as we're going. It can be very useful and even increase your strength without relying on your aura."

Velvet was amazed at the versatility thinking that it could only be used for destructive means and not strengthening the person. Shallot motioned for his girls to come over while team JNPR had started walking towards the front with the rest of Team CFVY.

Ruby and Yang came over and Shallot started explaining the use of ki and giving a small demonstration. Shallot gathering a small amount of energy between his hand making a small ball of energy form.

Shallot: "This here is ki. It is the life force within the body and it is also within everything in the world. Ki can be called life force or life energy. By manipulating this you will be able to enhance yourself and train past your normal limits. You can learn to fly with enough mastery over ki or use them for attacks."

Shallot then let the energy ball fade away and then changed it into ki strings.

Shallot: "This is a technique that I created called ki strings. It is mainly used to increase your control over your ki. I do this attack usually before going to sleep to work on my control at all times. It's best to do this every now and then because the stronger you become the more ki your body can hold. Since my strength is increasing I need to find the best way of controlling my ki.

Others may need to control theirs differently. Not everyone can train exactly alike since everyone's bodies are different."

Yang interrupted with a question of her own.

Yang: "Will this help me hit harder?"

Shallot: "If you concentrate your energy and one arm and control it very well then you could destroy an entire building in a single attack."

Shallot said that they were coming out of the trees towards an open area. There were some Grimm rushing towards them. There were 17 creep Grimms rushing towards them.

Shallot: "If you concentrate ki into your legs and feet exploding it underneath you in a controlled manner."

Shallot then disappeared and arrived in the middle of the creep Grimms and slammed his fist down into the ground creating a crater in the ground. The blast separated the Grimm so they are no longer on a pack. Shallot then used his movement technique again and appeared back by Velvet, Ruby, and Yang.

Shallot: "If timed well and you catch your opponent off guard you could get a devastating attack in while also moving at high speed so they can't react."

Yang looked excited thinking that she will be able to fight a lot more with ki and wanted to learn it more now. The Grimm that were separated crawled out from under the rubble but not all of them had survived only 6 of them came out of it alive.

Team JNPR went forward and dealt with the 6 creeps with them not being that difficult.

Jaune: "Shield up, shoes tied, ready to roll!"

Jaune headed forward acting as the distraction for the team. Nora and Ren were close by with Pyrrha and were ready to attack.

Nora: "Let's break some stuff!"

Pyrrha stayed at the back this time trying out what she has been practicing based on the suggestions from Shallot. She had what looked like a water skin pouch that she opened and silver-gray grains came floating out of the pouch.

She moved her hands forward making that grains fly forward towards the 3 Grimms that were lagging behind the others. The grain rushed and captured the Grimm. Pyrrha was sweating slightly while doing the next part since she still wasn't adept at using this method. She then placed her hands together with all of her fingers interweaving making multiple X's.

The grains that were keeping the Grimm captured started to move slightly before they turned into spikes impelling the Grimm leaving three giant spike balls. Pyrrha didn't lower her guard because she only counted 5 so far and one was missing.

The last Grimm came borrowing from under the ground below Jaune and he panic swung directly into the face of the Grimm. The Grimm had a slash appeared on its white mask while being thrown back some. Jaune steadied himself while encouraging himself and rushed at it sending a flurry of slashes. With that Jaune finished the last Grimm.

After they finished the Grimm they heard Professor Port in their earpiece comm.

Professor Port (Comms): "Nice work, students! As you know, we've been having some trouble with the Security Network in this area. We need boots on the ground to investigate. That means you, team! Onward!"

They continued moving forward at a leisurely pace. With Shallot smiling seeing that Pyrrha accepted his advice. He could see that she is going to become a lot stronger than what she would have originally. Hopefully, that vision or dream he had seen doesn't become true.
